It does the job. The ads are not good for kids though... You need to supervise them while the timer is running. Kinda defeats the purpose of the timer IMO. I'd like to use it to help build independence for my son, but if I'm right there making sure he doesn't click any of the ads, it kind of defeats the purpose. There is no way to buy the app or remove the ads until you open the app... What's wrong with releasing a separate, full version like 90% of other apps?
It used to work well. Now it is a total fail. it is supposed to slowly reviel a picture at it counts down but it doesnt. it just shows the picture and has a ticking sound, then gives an alarm when the time is up. So dissapoiting. It used to be good but now it is worthless. I am off to find a different timer to use with my kids.
Used to work great but now not reliable. Sound cuts off randomly and have to restart clock! Also ticking rhythm sound is not constant and varies slow/fast. Not good for an autistic child who is sensitive to these things. Going to have to look for a better app or even write my own..
See Below. Have loved and recommended this app. Currently the sound and timer must be disfunctional. The timer seems to count down but the sound and spinning duck do not trigger when the green/yellow/red countdown picture cover has elapsed. I did some trouble shooting and think I found the fix for my and other users display delemia. I have Developer Options enabled and switched "Animator duration scale" to replicate my and those whose picture shows at start. Set to 1x. Now functioning correctly.
Fantastic motivator for my 2 yr old! He loves cleaning to "Duck Time " and hearing the Duck quack at the end of time! Haven't tried the other options, but love the option to turn off buttons when it's within his reach or have them on so I can sneakily add time to the timer
I love the different pictures to reveal. However, I use it in a classroom and I have to turn the volume off because I cannot turn the ticking sound off. It would be nice if there was an option for tick during and ring after or ring only or silent.
My adhd child loves this timer. The different picture and associated noise. Only downside is, when i attempt to purchase the premium package(add removal and additional pictures) it fails. I've tried 3 times, each time using google one touch pay, and each time it looks like it works but doesnt confirm and thankfully doesnt charge me.
Love this app!!! Fantastic at meal times. 😀👍Love that we can add our own pics. It would be great if we could add sounds too. I've noticed recently though that the pause and forward/backwards features freeze when the timer starts.
Very nice. I use this a lot with my 2 year old, she loves seeing if she can beat the timer. My only request would be for the image to stay up on the screen at the end of the timer until a button is pressed, because every so often she misses the ending. But the timer is a great way to get kids to understand time and to implement predictability for our kids, i.e. when we need to leave - I can tell her she has 5 or 10 more minutes to play and when the timer ends, we go home.
The Children's Countdown is a great asset to me as I work with kids that need to calm down and/or get help with transitions. The children seems to like watching the clock count down with the different pictures. I use this all the time and my job seems to be a little more easier...thanks!
Using it to help my toddler know that mealtime is done. Before it, sitting at the table for an hour to an hour-and-a-half was not unheard of. Not a five-star rating because for some reason, an overlay effect or something has started flashing on screen during use and my kid won't stop pointing it out. Luckily, I have an iPad and am using the Apple version of the app now, which does not flash.
Great for potty training my autistic 5 year old! He's nonverbal, but loves the ticking sound. I talk to him for the full t minutes it's ticking down. We try to guess the photo that's coming up. I give him hints and when its revealed I tell him what it is. It's a great little learning tool on top of inventive to sit still and go potty!
You cant close the app and come back without resetting the timer kind of makes it impossible to use throughout the day. Also it ticks way too negatively stimulating for both our sanity.
Good app, fun for kids, and pretty customizable. I wish I could set it to not swing the picture around back and forth when the timer goes off - that's hugely visually stimulating and it's not always helpful in the moment.
We started to use this timer when my 5 yr old and 3 yr old decided that chewing one mouthful of food needed to take 15-20 minutes. Thankfully, this app has made it so they eat all their dinner in less time! We now also use it to countdown playing at the park, brushing teeth, time watching tv, and so much more. This has worked very well for us!
My almost-3-year-old was dragging meals out for hours. It was brutal. We set this timer for an hour and it helped him so much! He loves the pictures and backgrounds. Seeing the timer and seeing it go from green to yellow to red really helps him understand. He can now pretty well manage his own time and always eats as much as he wants/needs in a reasonable time.
My kids love it. Its really good with the ticking sound with different pictures every time. Downside would be that it could have more pictures. Also couldn't browse anything while this is on.
Unable to tick a proper tempo (tempo is erratic, both during the normal tempo and the faster tempo towards the end of the countdown). Sometimes stops ticking altogether despite still counting down. Also rather forceful about adverts.
I'm an ABA behavior tech and use this timer for my clients. I paid for the extra stuff. My kiddos really seem to like the pictures and love seeing the custom pictures. It does have a few flaws, the timer sound occasionally stops and i wish they had more sounds for the custom pictures.
This used to be an amazing app, but now the picture reveals at the beginning of the timer, making it useless. I have to think that the app is somehow broken and I'm hoping they address it. This used to be my favorite timer for everyone in the family-- so much so that I bought the full version-- but now I'm off to search for a new visual timer.
Good so far! My son really likes it, and I like the sound that goes along with each picture. After testing out the free pictures, I paid the 2.99 to get all the extra pics and no ads.
I use this app a little differently than others. My 2 yr old son has autism and gets time outs when he's in trouble. So what I do is turn on the timer for 2 mins sit my phone where he can see it and he actually sits down now and watches the picture revealing without it being a fight. This app has almost eliminated the struggle of making him actually sit in time out for the whole 2 mins without getting up every 5 secs. I recommend this app to everyone and a big thanks for making this app free.
This app is great forward it does it is a timer for children.I am in year 3 and I'm a kid and I use this app so that I can time myself for how long that I do my reading on my homework. And it works really nicely and is that all picture at the back to encourage you to do what you're doing and you can't wait until the timer goes. And because there is a little picture there. So this is a great that and that's why I reviewed it 5 stars. This app is also very kid-friendly because there is nothing rude.
Awesome for a tooth brushing timer ! We added a ton of fun pictures from my phone gallery. The kids love brushing their teeth while watching the pictures be revealed. We will probably add new pictures every few weeks to keep it fun!
Sometimes the sound cuts out. Plus it's maybe a bit too interesting as my son just watches it the whole time instead of doing what he's meant to be doing!
I would like this app more if the ads didn't pop up so quickly after the timer finishes. My child likes to see the picture once the timer completes but she doesn't get a chance because the ad pops up so fast.
I love this timer and use it all the time at work! I just wish this app would adjust to landscape mode instead of just staying in portrait mode. but overall I really love it!!
It's OK for what it is but has a few bugs. If you select any of the pictures available and then exit the app, when you go back in it will have changed the selection to the "red car". This doesn't happen if random is selected. Sometimes after 1 minute, the ticking sound will stop. Doesn't always happen. Pausing and restarting it will make it work again.
