Chinese HSK Level 1 lite

Honestly one of the best app. And I have tried a lot over the years. I kept the free version several weeks before buying the 20€ version. I don't understand people who are complaining about adds. It's the exact same adds you will get in every games or other half free apps. Not always appreciated sure! But nothing new here! Also about the 20€, to be fair it's the price I pay every year for a new Chinese learning book. So you know what? Worth it!

Pretty great all around. A few things to make it better. 1. I should be able to add/heart all HSK Character regardless of what level. 2. Option to slow down the writting animation. 3 when click on related character take me to that Character not copy or give both options.

I really love this app. The various minigames help me a lot - especially those for building sentences. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the audio quality - the volume goes up and down during a sentence which makes it more difficult to understand. Other then that - awesome and would totally recommend. I bought the app as there were some helpful minigames I wanted to try and I think it was worth it!

Lots of different games that focus on learning different parts of Mandarin (spelling, pronunciation, grammar, etc). There are a few rough points in the app, such as some of the picture cards don't make much sense, i still haven't figured out the intended use for the system that allows you to star words, and the awards screen freezes if you try to back out of it instead of clicking on the award. all of these are minor and I'm very happy to have this app.

Solid app for learning Chinese. Has some great games to practice and it's very helpful and is definitely worth a look. But with the recent update the ads are too much and interfere with the flow of studying. Before they were reasonable and an example of an amazing free app, but now they appear far too often. Yes they will go away in the paid version (and I was gonna pay) , but these tactics of making the free version unbearable don't make me wanna upgrade anymore.

This app is absolutely magnificent. It gives a variety of games to practice with, both for words as for sentences and little stories. The grammar is explained in bite-size bits and the word list not only gives a translation but also the meaning of the separate characters making it easier to remember. 100% would recommend to people wanting to learn Chinese.

I don't think you can learn Chinese from this app, but I think it's a great supplement to other apps and books. You can practice listening, reading, vocab, etc. My only issue is some of the audio uses sound effects that make it too obvious what the correct answer is - I know the answer has 出租车 in it when I hear car noises.

I only do the sentence practices and mostly in "do they match?" where you answer if the spoken audio is same as the characters. I play with sound off to focus on my reading comprehension. It's very nice. Unfortunately I've come across errors several times such as where the chinese says "I want to buy" and the English says "I want to have" or Chinese not mentioning a store at all and the English does. Makes me wonder what other errors there are that I as a beginner don't notice.

這個是最好！This app is phenomenal! It is very straight forward and there are lots of different ways to practice! I have learned a lot using the pronunciation exercises and the brand new listening exercises! This app is practically perfect! I would definitely recommend it! To note though, sometimes the English translations are slightly off. They can still be easily understood. Love this app!

Great amazing and useful app, very good optimized and nice animations and illustrations! Only one small suggestion, it would be very nice if you change the tapping behavior of the learning mode selection. When tapping on the mode and not releasing and dragging aside it selects and enters the learning mode, and sometimes it's not the one I wanted to enter. If you could change that so if I tap and drag aside without releasing it won't enter, instead enter only when tapping and releasing :)

App tries to make you pay without saying how much! I want to know how much the pro version costs. Clicking on the "view price" button, I get a notice from the playstore that I "consent to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right to withdrawal" - without any price being shown! Looks like a bad trick! Very disappointed, since I wanted to continue using the app. I will look for another one now.

Great app to supplement your Mandarin learning. I usually turn off notifications for apps but not with this one; this app doesn't waste my time and even has an advanced feel, like I'm really being challenged every day. The Chinese characters practice is just what I was looking for: teaches you the proper way to write and defines the characters, and there is a fun and fast paced game mode for that too. No annoying ads!! Maybe some banner ads but I barely notice. Will be getting the paid version!

Wow, the 8.0 update is awesome. The pro version of the app might seem pricey but trust me when I say it's worth it. The stories feature is incredible! It makes learning characters fun with the character games and teaches you grammar through the lessons and the sentence games. I would rate 6 stars, the only thing I'm left wanting is more of this incredible content.

Really useful app - well thought out and with a lot of content. Very good value for the price. The app is varied, but for maximum learning results of course you would probably want to combine it with practical lessons or maybe a book. This app is particularly useful for building reading and listening skills. Works offline too! Would definitely recommend!

I am currently using this app in conjunction with Duolingo. Whenever I don't understand a character it is the perfect place to give me a good explanation, the mini stories are a great tool to learn new vocabulary. I am currently using the free version so I don't mind the adverts that much, but I will definitely be purchasing the full version soon.

I like that app, but Upgrade to Pro button doesn't work, so it crosses out all the good parts. And also the board game is bugged, can't have 100% progress, stuck at 98% and the same task appears each time I complete the previous. The tiles get mixed up, but the set of word stays the same.

Great app! Has a ton of different exercises that cover reading, writing, recognition, pronunciation, all in the form of games, so it's also a lot of fun

Amazing, you learn the most important characters. I find other apps are poorly focused on the wrong things at early stages. This app is supper repatitive and I feel like I'm learning. I find it helps to have a note book to write the characters down and to test yourself. 😁 I recommend paying for this for your learning sake.

I use it in combination with Duolingo. The free version gives enough to practice words. I like that it shows how to write the characters and know how many lines to write them out. I do wish the pictures were clearer in what they match with. They don't always make sense with the word.

Useful games and flashcards. It makes leaning easier and fun.

An excellent app for the more serious learner. Hopefully, the price could be lowered to earn it a 5 star.

It's looks a bit standard but it has a lot of helpful material. It's easy to navigate around. Interesting surprise: 1. It has games 2. On random days, it gives access to the pro-content for just few minutes but it is worth it.

Dear Chinesimple, I have been using your HSK apps for months now. The most irritating experience is each time after selecting the correct HANZI/PINYIN, I need to press the next button. I think this should be simple, fast and without any delay. If you remove the NEXT button and show the next HANZI/PINYIN immediately after uthe selection, this would be more fun. Besides you show too much ads, you can show one add every 10 minutes. I hope you would consider this sincerely.
