Chinese in Flow

I absolutely love this app! It's a challenging and fun experience for someone who has only studied it on my own time. My only wish to better the app is that the options remain permanent. Having to turn on sound and turn off pinyin and translation every session is distracting and takes time from study. Thank you for making this free though!!! <3

Great app! My only complaint is that you can't actually turn off the pinyin/English in Review mode. It gives you the option to disable one of these, but either way you get both the pinyin and English with every character. So the options menu doesn't work for Review. If you fix this, I'd give the app 5 stars.

This is probably the most overlooked app for learning Chinese. Let me compare this to PLECO's flashcard game. You can put thousands of cards into a PLECO set, but you need to circulate through all of the cards before you see the card again. If you get one wrong, you will get it wrong when you see it again hours later. Although In Flow had only preset flashcard sets, the benefit to using this one is that if you forget a character, you will see it again 10 sec later, and again until its mastered.

Great study app. Pronunciation paired with characters in a slow review or timed, self-competitive environment. Each session really drills you on your character recognition and listening skills. Options are perfect, like sound on or off, english on or off. Very clear and well-designed function.

Great app! For me, it's a perfect fit that actually helps me memorize words very fast. I only wish there were ways to adjust the training mode (like selecting particular hieroglyphics for a seasion, turning off the timer, and so on.)

Thank you for your work ! Easy , simple , pragmatic ! This app uses the flashcards pattern . Hsk 1 to hsk 5. The time mode put you pressure and it's kind of funny and interesting! Maybe you can add a general menu ? I even didn't find a button to rate you directly from the app ^^ Thank you again. Jimmy.

Simple, easy to use for practicing words. As another reviewer said, please add a general settings to the app that can be maintain throughout the lessons rather than having to change settings per lesson or per use. Thanks for developing this!

I really like this app. My favorite part is the timed practice. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because when you turn the sound on for a lesson, every time you do the lesson, you have to turn the sound on again. It should remember your preference.

I promise you this'll be the best app you find to help you through HSK levels. It might look simple, but it's method drills the character to your memory. I'm pretty sure the creators working a lot to add the missing audios for higher levels right now, which I'm really grateful about.

It's fun, structured and well put together. It only tackles single characters, not grammar. But it tackles the chinese characters comprehensively . I like it.

Would be great to have the option to test all characters/words in a level rather than just the subsets e.g. test HSK1 rather than 1-30. Otherwise great app for learning characters

I've had this app since 2017 when I was a student in China. I live in the states now, and I still use it to practice. I like how simple the interface is, and how easy it is to follow the lessons.

Great app, goes over the content a decent amount of times, not too repetitive. The problem is a lack of breadth: It stops at HSK5.

Great app, very useful, doesn't try to overcomplicate things. Please add hsk 6! Ideally would like to be able to add user made decks.

It is very good application for remembering Chinese character. If you improve and add the pronunciation command it will be the best application.

I've noticed that some of the words are out of order not sure if it's intentional or not and I'm not complaining just thought I should share, 5/5 great app esp when you pair it with other apps for grammer etc

this app is really helpful and helps me learn the words as fast and as easy as possible and it will be so nice if there was such app available for other languages such as korean or Japanese and etc ! :)

This app is excellent. However, I would love to have the option of Traditional Characters and each group by HSK level. Please, take this into consideration.

Nice app, but has no play sound after 3b stage. If it had a play sound on later stages, it would be perfect.

Excellent to review and memorize some everyday used vocabulary with their orthography and translation. I recommend.

Just finished the first group of words and I'm very happy with this program. The repetition is just right in my opinion.

Have been using this for a few days, it is very useful for learning the characters and the way they sound, it works very well, is easy to use and navigate.

Very useful apps to reinforce and rate your Mandarin proficiency. Highly recommended to complement other hanyu pinyin apps. 👍
