Chipper - Free Digital Planner & Homework Manager

In theory, it's a very nice app, and it also looks very aesthetically pleasing. There are small issues like being unable to set reminders freely and having to set an end date for reminders to stop repeating. However, compared to some other apps, it lacks functionality since there aren't any widgets you can use. I'd instantly make it a 5 star rating if they had these, but the lack of widgets really does hamper it's usefulness for me.

I'm a pretty disorganized college student, and Chipper is definitely what I needed to get everything into one place. I was super tired of the format of Samsung, Google, and other kinds of calendars-- you dont have good repeating functions, event classifications, different day/week/month views, permanent class schedules, or even nice looking formatting. This has everything you need and can show it in the way that makes sense to you!

After the new update, the app takes much longer to load after it is refreshed. The amount of time it takes is unacceptable in my opinion, as I need to pull up my planner quite often to look over my schedule and add/check off tasks. I'm not sure if the dev team is working on optimizing this, but my suggestion is to have the app store some data offline for some time, and have a button that the user can tap to sync data (this is how the MyFitnessPal app works). One good thing that's resulted from the update is that the synchronization between my devices is reliable now. I actually tried to jump ship to another planner app, but no other app does exactly what I want, much less for free. :) Previous review (5 stars): I've been using this app for a couple of years now; it's quite useful and aesthetically pleasing. However, an issue I have right now is that when I change the time zone on my device the times of the events in the planner do not change (although the app did say reminders will change). It would be great if there's an option to have events reflect the time zone.

Works well for highschool too! I found this advertised on a YouTube video, and even though I very rarely even pay attention to ads, it seemed like it would be useful. This app is simple, versatile, practical, and keeps my required and elective courses organized. There are a few things that I haven't quite figured out yet, but other than that, I like this planner overall.

I love almost everything about this app, I finally get to stay organized and stay on top of everything at my own pace. However I just got a new computer (no longer on a Chromebook) and I can't download it on my HP. This means I have to get on my phone to schedule things and my professors don't like that, plus it enables distractions. I wish there was an app for other mediums or we could access it in a website format. I love this app so much I've recommended it to classmates and even professors. It helps keep everything prioritized and gives an insightful overview of the near future and the ability to set reminders is amazing and I haven't missed an assignment yet this semester.

LOVE this idea, a great start to an amazing app! More integration with the phone interface would be helpful! Like being able to pause study sessions from the notification bar? Also I have a Pixel 3XL and when I try to sign in to my Google calendar and I select a Google account it says "There was a problem with your request. Please check your connection and try again". A fix to this would be great! Keep it up

This is a great app. I appreciate how it automatically color codes my course and makes sure I set aside time to read/work on assignments. The reminders are helpful too. This is definitely the best planner app I have found since starting grad school. Although this app is 5 stars for me, it would definitely be helpful to give an option to add lectures that aren't weekly (sometimes mine are every other weekend and sometimes they're back-to-back weekends) without having to put in each individual date. It would also be helpful to have a web version that makes it easier to see. There was one when I first started using Chipper but it disappeared.

Great app! Five stars in look and execution, but there's two design choices I wish were optional. This may be what you need though! One is the "money" that pops up every time you complete a task- this is great for some and would be excellent if my ADHD was a bit harder to manage, but for me it's a bit distracting with all the pop up congratulations. Secondly, I wish I could delete completed tasks. I prefer to have my schedule looking clean and empty rather than full of minor steps.

Best app I've found to keep me organized. Love that it "pays" you, and you can set each individual homework assignment. Everything is color coordinated for each class, and their study timer has built in breaks!!! Only downside is that it takes a while to input all your assignments for each class(but that can't really be helped at all). Never will I not use this app!

I'm a college student and this app is super helpful. However, after uninstalling for the summer, then reinstalling for my 2nd year, the color contrast is very washed out or too dark. Every thing is hard to see. I have to brighten my screen just to select the courses when I put in my homework information, my reminders, and looking at my calendar. Please fix this.

The app used to work perfectly, but after the latest update it glitches out much more often. Texts don't load, the "repeat until" option only works part of the time, sometimes absolutely no texts load and I'm left with a completely blank screen. It's a shame because the app itself so very useful, I loved the interface and features but it's becoming more and more of a hassle to use.

I've had a lot of trouble juggling apps and paper planners trying to organize the many different aspects of my life. This is the only tool I've found that does it all: assignments, prioritizing, scheduling, color-coding, and everything else. Just looking at the options for creating a task, you can tell the creators are continuously improving on their design based on user input. Awesome, essential utility!

Geat in theory and I love the organization and interface, but it's aggravating to use because there's a slight delay/lag in navigating within the calendar. I have a lot of appointments and events to log and I want to be able to swipe around, access and edit my events quickly but the selection feedback is often like a full second and it makes it really inefficient. I didn't see anyone else complain about this so it could just be my phone but as a result the app is not convenient for me.

I love Chipper. The ability to be able to easily schedule out your day hour by hour and the clean design of the calendar (and not to mention the fact that it's all FREE!) is amazing. only a few things would make this app perfect. Android widgets, ability to set infinite repetition on repeating tasks, and some sort of undated task list where we could keep track of tasks that need to be done but not necessarily at certain times/on certain days. Otherwise, this app has it all. Definitely recommend.

This is an updated review! While I really enjoy using this app, I am having a few used with it. The Widget does not work 80% of the time. It doesn't display any of my info and it doesn't allow me to click it to open the app. I have to click on the tasks themselves which isn't possible when the Widget isn't displaying properly. Loading up the app doesn't always fix it either, it'll display wrong days or not show that I've completed tasks I marked in the app. Plus dark mode but ik its on the way!

Great app to stay organized! Some things could be improved though. Widgets that can be customized to preference would be nice so I could add reminders to my homescreen. Another thing is themes, it would be nice to be able to select from different themes and be able to customize the planner to my preference. Lastly, being able to sync to a desktop would be really convenient since i use my laptop a lot so it would be nice to see my schedule on there as well.

Great app! It helps me stay on track and its very easy to navigate around and to create tasks. It has helped me plan out everything more and be effective with my time. I would really love to see support for a landscape feature. Right now the app can only be in portrait and i think it would be so much better if support for landscape was added.

Lovely app, and very fun to use! I tried it once and I was hooked. One thing that kept me debating (and trying other apps) was the lack of widgets. Widgets are pretty amazing, and offer a satisfying experience for to-do list lovers. Regardless of the lack of home screen options, it was the best app tailored to what I needed as a student.

So far its pretty good. I like the layout. Does crash quite a bit, and it lags when updating your schedule. I do like how easy it is to use, though. As a first year student, I've got everything I need at my finger tips! Hopefully my information saves, isnt lost, and the app updates a bit here and there to solve some small issues.

Helpful! I was struggling with keeping track of all my due dates and couldn't find a physical planner that helped me. I looked into a variety of apps and chipper has by far been the best. It's so easy to just take my phone out in class and enter in the homework so that when I check back later I know exactly what to do. It's made for college and that helps a lot. Easy formatting and helpful reward system. Love it!

I was looking for a calendar app that would let me cross off my tasks. Sometimes I like to finish things earlier but most of the apps dont get crossed off until that day passes. I'm a visual person and like to see that I have finished my assignments. I couldn't find anything that would also help me see the difference between my class assignments. I came across this app and its amazing. Just what I need to help me manage everything easily.

Nice planner, though recently when I tried to put my studying schedule in (which involves A LOT of reccuring classes), it just entirely disappeared. So I'm a bit disappointed, to be honest. Overall it's a rather useful app, I've been head over heels in love with it. No ads and an amazing design.

Pretty good scheduling app! The idea of what i wanted is there, but there could be some improvements. I recieve email notifications rather than actual app notifications. it's very annoying, and ever since I turned off my email, i began forgetting things as Im not the person who regularly checks an app. Would be a useful app if it had those reminders.

Honestly has been extremely helpful!! I don't really follow the timing I set for it but I'm working on time management and this is helping so much with keeping track of what I need to do!! The reminders aren't going off and I can't fix it for some reason but that's ok, I just set alarms. It would also be great if you could let us write our own course codes for our classes!! Instead of having Personal Fitness be PERS I'd rather make the code be GYM or something, you know?But over all it's great!!

I loved this app until, recently, a bug has made it impossible to use. Starting in September, there shows to be an empty event every day. Clicking on the event causes the app to crash. Trying to add an event on one of those days causes the app to crash. Unless the bug is fixed, I'll have to find another planner app to use 😕

Great homework app with pomodoro built in. Wish you could do subtasks...maybe you can and I just missed it. Outlines and integrations with other project management and productivity apps would be nice as well. But standalone is still amazing. EDIT - I sure did skip right over the subtasks. Thanks for the information and the blazing fast response. I'm definitely looking forward to a Google Calendar integration especially if it continuously syncs in both directions. Thank you so much for creating a great app! There should also be a way to manage the colors for different courses for us with a bit of a control issue. Keep up the great work!

I definately wish I could enter grades for each subject and that my colors for my classes and my homework were different (it all blends together and makes it hard to really tell what I'm looking at). Also, within my subjects I'd like to be able to enter the location, teacher, and course description. Overall, a helpful app but not perfect. Helps me keep organized and remember my tasks. Theres also a study timer that gives me a pomodoro vibe. Could use a dark mode.

Absolutely love this app! Its a great app and its super convenient being able to have life and school schedules in one place! You can use a study timer that is customizable, and add subtasks. There are no ads, which makes this easily an awesome app all by itself! Only thing I wish is that the study function could keep track of how much time you study per class/per week. Overall more breakdown in the study function, but other than that, its awesome!

Great for tracking and maintaining a schedule. I just wish it allowed the user to set a specific timed reminder to check chipper. If I had the ability to get a reminder on chipper at 7pm everyday, it would remind me that I still have tasks to complete for the day. For the time being, I set up a reminder on my calendar to check chipper.

I love the concept of this app! I love how you can add tasks based on work, life, or school. It helped me keep everything organized and written down better than a standard calendar. But this gets only 3 starts is because there are fundamental issues with the app that have made it unable to be used reliably. Last night I made 5 different tasks and added them to the calendar. This morning, none of them saved, they were just gone. Completing tasks didn't always save either. Big fundamental issues.
