Chord Detector ZAX

This app is automatic chord detector (chord finder) that uses the internal device microphone It also has some unique features as showing the music spectrum so you can actually see the notes in it.So ZAX can be used not only as a chord detector but also to show any instrument timbre. It shows all notes that are available as a frequencies in the sound. Basic tempo detection ( BPM detector) is also added to help you find the BPM for your song.
This particular version is still alpha and is equipped only with major and minor chords! This is a free version that is fully functional. The ZAX chord detector was not adjusted to find the chords for some specific instrument but is suitable for anything that makes sound :)I am still working hard on this app but I think that it can already be very useful.

ZAX Chord Detector features:

1. Chord guess (major minor only)2. Music spectrum with notes3. Pitch shift4. Strongest note5. Bass note6. All notes detected in spectrum.

Works in the 70
- 450 Hz range. ZAX chord detector has the same simple user interface as my fine chromatic tuner app. It features not only chord detection but also spectrum analyzer. As polyphonic music analyzer ZAX Chord Detector can be used to help as music recogniser. It can help you to find chords of any song and to see why one instrument is sounding better than other. In terms of audio frequency analyzer it can show you the under and over tones. So you can see all the notes in spectral audio analyzer view.

I feel like it's made for single chords played at a time, or chords played at lower tempos. If a song is too fast, it tries to read it but then the chord switches and it gets confused.

USELESS. No matter what keyboard sound you use, this thing tells you it's a B, then changes to C#, then decides it's an F#min !! Which one is it?!?!? (And that's just on triads, but it gets confused even on SINGLE NOTES !!!) I've tried piano, strings, guitar, etc... Same result. There should be a "minus 5 stars" option, just for this piece of junk. USELESS

MIGHT work if you've got a soundproof booth, but I couldnt get a consistent reading. It just jumped around flashing various wrong chords.

Could not get a consistent reading for BPMs. Tried it was a fairly simple house beat but it couldn't get anywhere near. No good to use for DJing.

I like this app. It has potential. But it needs an options menu. Like to be able to tune to A=442. Among other things. It also needs to recognize more than two modes. Mics need to be more precise but pretty sure that's a device problem. I will stick with app hope these changes will be made! Love what you guys are doing

Sometimes it jumps between accurate reading gets most simple chords like c g e and d chords so I takes its word on most others, for what its worth in future updates, pitchlab pro tuner app picks up and tells you any note played on one string, so it can be very integrative for chord reading tech thanks a lot :)

This app is retarded. It can't even get simple chords correct.

Cute program to see notes from the song bounce around. Very simple.

This App is an idiot.

Not at all accurate! It didn't even get close to the simplest chords I played. Tried playing them slowly and even one note at a time (arpeggiated) but still it didn't work. It didn't get the bass note correct even when played one note at a time! Tried it on my phone and tablet and was completely unusable on both devices. Great concept but sorry to say it's not ready for deployment. Uninstalling from both devices.

It cycles through multiple chords and never settles on what's actually being played. Seems confused by harmonics. Like a clock that's not running - it's right about twice a day :-/

This is one of those things that you figure ought to exist. Unfortunately, it is a great idea followed up with poor execution. I have a few issues with it, all relating to how it doesn't properly identify any of the chords I throw at it.
