Chord Tracker

Great app for learning songs on the fly. Only problem I have is that not all my music appears on the artist view. For example I have one album that appears, but there is no music in it. But then I have one band that only shows one album, but if I search the remaining music shows up.

This is a great app. This app is a master at identifying simple chords and I use it everytime I want to make a chord sheet for a song. The only problem I have with this app (from my experience) is the more advanced chords like 7ths, 9ths, sus chords, etc. The app sometimes has a hard time identifying chords like that and I just want all the chords in songs to be accurate so I don't have to change them myself.

Ok for basic chords, but doesn't detect anything other than straight major and minor chords. I would have expected it to at least detect 7th chords, if not more complicated chords. It also doesn't pick up passing notes. So, for beginners it's a useful app so you can strum along with a song. But if you want to play anything like the proper version then this only gives a starting platform. On the plus side, it's really easy to use. For a free app it's pretty good. I would rather pay and get more.

By far the best (and most accurate) application for chord detection. I was going to give it one less star as it is a "bit picky" with the audio input format, but could not bring myself to as (with everything) there is room for improvement... I have subscribed to some services that are a bit hit and miss, but this is by far the best. It looks professional and it just works.

Great idea and, when it worked, it worked well. But over the last 6 months of use it kept losing my stored favorites and now I can't even browse for my own music files so it's basically useless. (Edit) Browsing is working again! Not sure how or why because there have been no updates for the program or my system. Favourites are still being lost.

Wow. Very impressive tool. Can be extremely helpful to dissect chord arrangements in a song on the fly. Don't expect this app to hold your hand for you in learning how to play a song. This mainly serves as a guide in showing you the root notes. Very cool. Yamaha has been knocking it out if the park lately with some of their inventions lately in the music department. Good stuff.

This is one of the most ingenious works of audio software ever made. I spent the day I downloaded this app simply scrolling through my music collection and testing the app to see how accurate it was and it's genuinely flawless. If you are a guitar or keyboard player, no matter the level, get this NOW. EDIT: Still good, but very picky with format, can't use FLAC files, for example. If an update expanded support to include FLAC and other more obscure file types it would genuinely be perfect

Very accurate and precise! Thank you very much for the app and your efforts. I'm able to find chord without any hassle. But the only thing that is holding me to give 5 star I the problem with this app is finding the song form our song lists, it's quite a headache to search if you have lots of songs. Please put a search option on the app in next update.

The app crashes too often. There is no search tool therby consuming lots of time to get to the desired Music file. The chord analysis is better to some extent in comparision to the previous versions . Not an exact replica of the chords in the song. But, manageable. Plz do fix the issues in the upcoming updates. Excellent application. Best thing is the ability to send the analyzed chords to the keyboard in the form of song (my PSE-e363 doesn't produce the sound of that sent song though, maybe I'm missing something here). An odd thing I noticed wast my own recorded performance piano chords were not recognized properly but the analyzed chords from the mp3 on the phone were a lot more accurate. Now I only wish we could save it in the form of MIDI file and import on PC (maybe I'm asking a little more). Overall, excellent app from Yamaha. Note to developers, I'm waiting for the pitch bend and mod wheel app for android, please bring it to android platform soon.

This used to be a great app... I thought it was one of the best music app. Suddenly, it stopped working. I couldn't use any of my songs. It would always say that the format was not supported when it's all an mp3 file and the same file that I had used in the app before it updated. I'm giving it 3 stars in consideration of the passed months when it was working but now it's just useless.

Just like the iOS version there is absolutely no way to browse to an audio file and it does not show me the few mp3s that I actually have stored in Dropbox. There's no way to record audio without connecting an instrument so I can't even use the mobile device microphone. 2 hours and I literally have not even been able to test the app.

Wish you could get chords directly from Spotify. It appears the song has to be saved on your phone but downloaded Spotify songs aren't available in the app. To get around this I just played the song on spotify on my Kindle and recorded it on my phone. The app worked and transcribed the chords pretty accurately. I was able to figure out any inaccuracies. This was really a great tool for someone who isn't all that great figuring out chords to a song beyond a three chord song. Wish it could print

After analyzing a song you have the option to add that song to a "FAVORITES" list. Sadly songs that I have added to this list are missing when I've gone to access them at a later date. Very frustrating. Wasted hours creating a FAVORITES LIST of analyzed songs for future use. Only 3 stars because of this bug, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

This app is MAGIC! I don't know how it works, but it gave me almost accurate details of the song! I tried with simple songs like Cheap Thrills. Perfect. Then tried Vitas 7th Element. Perfect. Then increased the hardness with few of my own composition. Not bad, missed few notes and chords, and few ALTERNATIVES than the original. Some classical epics messed up. I guess because of the graduation being 4 blocks fixed(quick chords are tough here) Essentials for a noob! Still, quitr IMPRESSIVE!

I have 9000 songs on my phone, and this app has no search functionality. So I have to scroll from A-Z... All my songs have standard metadata fields (MusicBrainz Picard), but it takes ages to detect artists & genres. List just stays empty. If I put this app in a split window to show lyrics, music stops. If you fix the usability issues and add lyrics, it's worth 5/5. I would even pay an abo.

The best chord tracker app it does what it says, gives precise chords for downloaded songs. The only problem is for some songs it says does not support AAC or WAV FORMAT,I don't get that but that doesn't make it bad,it finds 9 out of 10 songs that's good 👍

Bad file detection, can't select folders to scan, refuses to scan certain files due to mysterious compatibility reasons that aren't explained. It's a bit of pain in the a** to use. But when it works, it does detect well based on what I've tried so far.

Wonderful app! One request, however. Can we have the option to display the chords in a transposed format, I. e. Not to transpose the playback, as is currently supported, but rather to just transpose (offset) the output letters of the chords to reflect our playing (for a transposed instrument) even if incorrect to the current playback scale. Please please. Thanks.

This app is magic. The chords are some what 90% accurate. Really helps a lot when trying to play a music that you like. What also amazing is the capability to transfer the chords to my PSR-S775 and I just simply play it. Now I can focus on becoming a pianist, play with the melody on my both hand using piano chords and let the PSR play the rhythm for me. For improvement: The style list is not the same as PSRS775, can it actually connect to PSR database so I can choose the right style?

This app is gonna save me soooooo much time. Thank you developers for this app. I just realized that it needs some tweeking on its chord timing tho. I also recommend a "fingerstyle" mode, so that you could learn both chords and fingerstyle of any song. Overall, this is a job well done. Keep it up and please consider my suggestions as an updated version.

It was about a month I've been struggling with finding out the exact chord progressions and even some chords by the way, it was all gettin' messy. Working as a part of a musical community, it was such a horrible situation being strangled upon these. 2 days back i accidently checked this app.. you can feel that sound of unexceptional happiness inside my mind. I love it... i admire it's precision in matching the perfect chord on time. Thanks to yamaha for this gift..♥️♥️

I love this app!! It is extremely useful. Next I'm waiting for a similar one that will also provide tabs of solos and melodies in songs, along with the chords. Also I've been trying to figure out if this app can loop continuous playback.But overall this app is excellent Thank you! Paul

I'm using pixel 4xl, it worked great for months, but few days ago , I loaded an mp3 , the chord loaded, I pressed play and my device froze... I thought this was a once of, and tried again with a different song , same thing happened, but this time the phone never booted up.. I had to do factory reset.... So... be careful, that's all I can say.
