Great application. Certainly helped me to visualise (and understand) the relationships between 4ths and 5ths on the guitar fretboard. Would certainly recommend this to any aspiring musician.
Really great, but there's a lot to it, can take some time to get accustomed to the more specific settings. Overall good experince, and good learning tool.
I'm a guitarist but my wife is a pianist who minored in music in college. She far exceeds my theory knowledge but this app has closed the gap (I pester her less and ask better questions). If she refers me to Chord Wheel to learn for myself, that sums up it's value. Want to install on all platforms (IOS, Windoze). Great job!
Great little app. Very practical, no fluff. Finding it very good for writing chord progression. Particularly like that it shows chords of minor keys too.
Love this app and how it works. Just moved to iOS and miss it a lot. Similar apps try to do too much and don’t get the basics right. Would love a port to iOS
This is actually simple straight forward composition tool, just needs sequencing in my opinion and it'd be amazing i love it cause it's super simple and works flawlessly
Good app but why don't you update it? Make it more compatible with newer phones. The user interface is for 6 or 7 years ago...
My default app for finding keys of songs. The best I have found
Does what I wanted it to do. Just $5. Heck, I have tipped waiters more than that.
Love this app. Probably the best circle of fifths in the app store. Totally worth a few $
Great App - Needs Update! Please update for 5 stats!
Fantastic app, good to modify current score.
I use it weekly to find what chords I need for any song.
Once understand how the wheel work's, Is very handy
Great app but it's been abandoned by the developers.
Thanks for this wonderful toolkit.
handy reference tool
paid version is worth it
jumps back to store
Just purchased the software which is very useful. I got some problem in setting major scale. When I moved outer ring to set tonic to B, F sharp, C sharp, I got major scale of B, F sharp and then instead of C sharp that I was expecting, I got D flat major scale. Hence, I could not get a key signature with 7 sharps which is C sharp major scale. I understand C sharp and D flat are enharmonic equivalent though. Similarly, when I moved the outer ring from D flat, G flat, I got major scale of D flat, G flat. On the outer ring, the note name next to G flat was B and not C flat that I was expecting. In fact, I could not find C flat note name on the outer ring and hence I could not get a key signature with 7 flats which is C flat major scale. I understand C flat and B are enharmonic equivalent thought. I am using version 5.0 on Samsung Notes 3. Hope these problems can be resolved soon for such helpful software.
This wheel is laid out exactly the way I want, with the IV, I, V, ii, vi, iii, vii partial ring below the ring of chords. It's the only app like it. Nothing comes close. The Lite version would have been fine but I wanted the chords to run counterclockwise which is available only in the paid version. I was put off by the price because all I wanted was counterclockwise chords, which is the way most other apps do it, but this app does just what I want and its author deserves to eat.
Keys and key signatures may be a nightmare to learn, but with this little app (and the Circle of Fifths itself) it becomes extremely easy to find your way around all those semitones, sharps and flats. Great app that's worth its price.
This app is an excellent example of how a smart phone or tablet can dramatically enhance a very old concept. This app does things that are literally impossible to do with a paper wheel! Not to mention, this is the absolute best circle-of-fifths app in the entire Play Store. If you want to move your musical ability past the beginner or intermediate stages, this app is a must have!
This app exceeded my expectations. After trying several other apps including the free version of this one; I happily purchased this one. Although it's not perfect, it's pretty darn close and a great tool for musicians who need that little music theory refresher while composing.
This is a great app. Nice to have ez reference right in my pocket when I need it. You complainers must not be serious musicians because if you were, and knew the value of this app, you'd stop whining about the adds and fork out the few dollars to buy the fully functional app. Well worth it! Thanks to the developers for a job well done.
In color and style this is similar to Jim Fleser's Chord Wheel booklet. (I'm no expert, but it seems to have all the same information.) But it has been so elegantly scaled down for the small screen that it is actually clearer and easier to read, and having TWO spinning wheels makes it work better, too. It lacks the booklet's 12 pages of notes, but it does have links to some other useful guides. AND it has fretboard/keyboard charts, and an AUDIO sample when you touch your selected note/chord. Fantastic!
In a short time, this app helped me better understanding scales, modes, and what chords fit within them. For a future enhancement, could add a button to expand the size of the guitar fretboard, so you see all of the notes at once? Also maybe add a square around the root note, to make it stand out. In the meantime, I'm getting used to the color codes. Very intuitive. Thanks!
This app is really good for music theory and knowing your progressions, but it needs to be updated for new Android versions. It keeps popping that it may be unstable. Last update was 2014, so it costs more than 4$ and the developers haven't done anything to the app since then, I believe.
