Can I create a list for another family member?
Yes, absolutely! One of the most useful features of ChristmasListApp is the ability to create a list for your children to share with family members. You can easily create a list for those kiddos and family members that are not able to set one up on their own!
Can others see the items that are claimed or that I add to their list?
No! We take every precaution to keep the element of surprise alive and well. Any items that are ‘claimed’ or ‘reserved’ will not be shown to the recipient.
Can I add items to a list that I didn’t create?
Yes! You can add gift ideas to lists for others to claim or even for yourself to claim. The recipient will not see these additions and will be surprised on Christmas morning!
Can I track my spending budget?
Yes! You can set a budget per person. Mark items as ‘bought’ and easily enter the price you paid. Our tracker will show you how much you have left to spend!
When should I create my list?
Anytime, and the sooner, the better! As you walk through stores and think “that would be a great Christmas gift” add it to your list so you don’t forget. When you put ideas on your list, others can start their shopping early!
What if I or a family member need help?
No problem! We have chat available through our website and can also be contacted at [email protected]. We will respond promptly to your questions or concerns.

We are a husband and wife team and the creators of ChristmasListApp. In 2012, we decided we needed a better way to share our gift lists with both sides of the family, so we started the ChristmasListApp website. It was originally just for our family and close friends, but started to grow organically. Our user base has exploded over the last couple of years and it has been super exciting! We are happy that we can now offer our users mobile apps. We continue to roll out new, trend setting features which is why this will be the best year yet for ChristmasListApp. It is very important to us that everyone has a great experience with the website and our mobile apps. I find it very frustrating there is no way to turn off notifications. I don't need an email everytime someone adds something to their list and I don't want them to get an email when I add something to mine. It feels greedy. When I tried the unsubscribe from the emails through link you get at the bottom of them, I'm simply taken to their website with no unsubscribe option. It appears the app doesn't have a settings option at all that this would be tucked under.
I love many things about this app. 2 Major things it lacks that would make it the perfect app are the ability to share shopping lists as my husband and I need to be able to track spending together and can't from just the "nice lists". Also the ability to edit from the shopping list and re-add from shopping list to gift list if a mistake is made and the item was already removed from gift list but still in shopping list. Would love to see these updates to the app.
Great idea, but uploading the lists could be a little easier....... One person on our group was only accessing his list! And could see all the gifts that were claimed! It worked really well for the rest of us though 😉
I like the concept and use of the app, but every time I try to upload a picture, the upload fails. That is one of the main things we use for Christmas lists too. May have to look at something else that supports pictures.
Not as user friendly as it could be. No group categorization. Links from emails don't open the app, go to website instead. Other smaller issues but not bad and most I know use it so I guess I'm ok with it.
Good but needs work. Love that we can share, puchased items are crossed off and recipient can't see what's been bought. We shop on Black Friday and need real time notifications when items were purchased. Duplicate gifts were bought that day because notifications of items crossed off a list came hours later. Oftentimes pics and weblinks wouldn't load and we had to manually fill in "other" section. Would be great to enter $$ spent for each gift/person and see a total to know if we're on budget.
My family's Christmas would be so disorganized without this app. It makes keeping Christmas lists easy, especially for kids when multiple family members are looking for gift ideas! Simply click on the app and claim the gift you want to give! This app has eliminated the task of separating gift ideas into multiple lists for family members. Thank you Christmas List App for simplifying my Christmas so I can focus on the true reason for the season!
Last year I used Pinterest to share gift ideas for me when my family would request them, but with no way to claim anything, I got a couple of repeat gifts. This year I found this app and it's exactly what I needed! The rest of my family liked using it so much they all put their lists on it too!
Great idea and helpful for organizing what I've got to buy. One large improvement would be allowing the lists to be reordered after they are created.
Great app ,makes gifting between family members so much easier. Shame it defaults to US dollars , but you can still search and put suggestions in pounds .
Makes shopping for friends & big families SO much easier because it takes the stress out of worrying about what to buy each individual when they tell simply tell you what they want on the app!
Great app, but one feature request that would improve my user experience substantially: Support list item quantities; adding items individually can be painful for larger quantities as-is. Definitely 5/5 stars if implemented.
It keeps glitching. It won't add new items to my list. And when I try to open the app I get a white screen.
Love this app. Works great for all our family. With a large family makes shopping so easy. There is anyway to clear the shopping list? Mine still has those items I purchased last year.
Hard deleting things you don't want. I wasn't able to create a list for my family and send it to them. So we ended up with two lists for everyone. Once it was set up it was easy to use.
Very cool App! Works great! I love that I now don't have to make individual lists to send to all the family members. This is so much easier....
The app is SWEEEEEEETTT! Knowing what my family and friends want for Christmas takes a lot of stress off of trying to figure out what they want. Plus claiming somethingmeans nothing will be duplicated.
Like this app. Great way for our family to share wish lists. Lets grandparents use links to purchase items. Helped me keep track of what I spent on each person. No double gifts.
This app is a game changer for getting gifts for family and friends! So helpful because you know what others want and you get what you want! Highly Recommend!!

Can't signup/log in. The app says an account already exists with my email but I can't reset my password. Not happy about this!
Great app, love that I can use the app on my phone and the website on my computer. Only Christmas app I have found that has both!
The app opened the first day I had it, and now it wont open at all. It try's and then crashes.
I like this app, and all the functions it has. There are still a few bugs to work out, but overall works well.
Can find gifts with correct size & color. Claim it & remove duplicates. Can not add unless have url.

This is great for our family for Christmas. Used the website for the last couple years and trying the app now. Looks really good.
This would be a great app if it wasn't lacking in so many features. I love being able to find gifts by searching or pasting a url, but an essential gift list feature is a budget. It also needs to be able to streamline the lists so you can see more of a list on one screen. Also, the delete list function is wonky.
