Chromatic Tuner

This app measures the fundamental frequency of sound at the microphone input and displays that frequency as well as the closest note. A horizontal bar is used to give an analog indication of how close the frequency is to the note. When the frequency matches the note (in tune), the length of the horizontal bar goes to zero and the display will turn green.

I did what I should have done 25 apps ago. I went out and bought a tuner from a music shop! The quality of apps on here, including this one is poor and wastes a lot of time.

Not super useful to me, at some point musicians can tune by ear. Probably best for newer players.

doesn't rocognise anymore than a few octaves

I'm a bit annoyed that the octave numbers are wrong for all the A and B pitches, so what this app labels A2 & B2 are actually A1 & B1. Not reliable with any background noise, even white noise of a small fan gets picked up as a tone, but accuracy is solid in a quiet room. The simple minimal interface is great.

Cool app, but it sometimes says that a note is a different note because of background noise. But if your in a place with little background noise, then this app is AWESOME!!!!

Well I'm trying a new piece I started and I'm playing a b flat and it's saying it's an a sharp and it's quite so yeah it's horrible

Very good straight forward chromatic tuner, it gets the job done without any of the annoying pop-ups and settings options. The only critique is that the tuner is very sensitive to ambient noise.
