Actually horrific. Never made a review before but I had to. Won't work almost all the time. When it does, it's fine but literally 9/10 times I open the app and press the sign in button it takes me no where and is frozen. Pretty horrific when you're trying to trade in a market thats always changing.... I've deleted it and re-download but still the same. You're better off going on a web browser. Beyond sad

Easy to use. All basic information is easily available. I wish they would incorporate all the news related to a stock when doing research like they have on the website. With the exception of that one thing I absolutely love this app, responsive, good layout (never more than 3 taps from what you're after) and reliable.

Finally, after a long painful and costly experience they manage to make this new update to work. The main issue now is screen freezing right when you login it happens every time. The screen freezes up and won't scroll (On iPhone&Android). They only remedy is to close the app and re-login! The other issue happens on high volume days, no matter how much cash you have in your account, it keeps telling you have not enough fund. The only way you get rid of this issue is by calling the support line.

Generally a straightforward app. The app has been down during pivotal moments a few times but apparently this happens with every broker occasionally. Orders fill almost immediately, and they've been updating and adding features to the app fairly often. Would be nice to eventually merge the banking and investing apps into one, as well as adding more features to the investing app.

Absolute garbage. The app works less than half the time. I have a Samsung phone and no other problems with any other apps but this one freezes on the log in screen more often than not. I have missed out financially because of missed trading opportunities. Will be shutting down accounts and moving to a new trading platform immediately. Do NOT recommend

It does the job, but could use improvement. It's particularly frustrating that it doesn't give a price average on your individual share prices, I'd like to know my single share price compared to the market price (in the main securities section), not just the total book value. No dark mode. Slow price updates. The main page should be my securities, not account/cash, as it's an app for trading and that's what I open it for.

It works, it has low fees. That's kind of it. There are no cool UI elements like flexible charting. No notification tooling. It won't help you categorize your portfolio or plan your strategy. You can't even "tag" your holding with notes or reminders. Like I said, it's really plain.

The app does provide the convenience of making trades on a smartphone but it needs work to streamline the process and give users a quick summary of all their investments and their book and market values on a single page. It's also too easy to accidentally subject your trades to exchange between US and CAN funds. On the page to review orders it would be helpful to see the current stock price as well.

It needs to show book value as well as current value in the main screen too make trading easier. Not user friendly. Still no better after all the comments. Bring back the previous app. This one went backwards on features needed to trade or research. Still dont like it. But i dont think the developer cares. Bring back the previous version.

It's simple to use, but can be very buggy and won't let you access the app. It happens every few months that the app completely freezes before the login page, even if you force stop it. You need to uninstall and reinstall it to get it working. Very annoying when you see an opportunity and it comes time to make a trade.

Been with cibc since I was a kid. This app isn't super flashy but it's good for what I use it for. I do wish the order execution was a bit more seamless instead of progressing through multiple screens. The commissions on options are expensive at 10 dollars per trade which when selling covered calls for $100-200 premium eats into the return a lot. Especially if you want to roll them instead of waiting for them to expire($20). Definitely a far cry from say questrade IQ edge.

The new website and smart phone app is very reliable, easy to navigate and has all the information I need to manage my portfolio. The response time is very impressive. Two things I miss from the website application are the analytical reports and the mo they trading average. Other than that it's a great responsive app

The app worked fine until one day in December 2020 I got a message that a new version is available and I had to update. Unfortunately, the app disappeared from my phone during update. I couldn't find it in Play Store anymore. It turns out that the updated CIBC Mobile Wealth app requires Android 8.0 or higher, so it is not available for my phone (Android 7.x). Is it so difficult to maintain backwards compatibility? Are we supposed to replace our phones every year? Think green, CIBC!

For the most part it's OK, but it does weird things at times; example I was unable to log in for the past 10 mins at the start of the stock markets opening! Missed my chance to purchase a stock at $10 cheaper per share! Another time I set a limit price to sell a share and the app didn't sell it! Tried emailing them, asked them to email back or call. They responded saying emailing wasn't safe but they didn't call back either. I called them, couldn't get through until the back office was closed!

Easy to do trades online, but still has a few glitches and some tickers lack real time quotes which can cost the investor lots of money. Also to trade between usd and cad is very glitchy and confusing to look at when placing trades. Also missing trailing stop loss feature that they still didn't reput in the app which is a feature i desperately need. If it is not featured in the next few months illl need to switch brokers

Dok. K. Feb 1, 2021

Typical CIBC-online let down. Almost everything CIBC does online is second or third rate. The ONLY thing this app does better than the last app did is that I don't have to sign on twice. This app gets me online in one shot (most of the time). I also like that you're allowed up to 20 quotes on your watch list. Kudos to that, CIBC. Now, if you can just figure out how to stop kicking me off the app, this might work for me. Still a long way from TD or Scotia's apps though.

New release is much worse! Old release is better. New release said it has better navigation but it is just doing opposite. Please check what users need and make changes as soon as possible. I am thinking to go to other brokerage if cibc will not change this new release. Everything is much harder than before. I have to scroll a lot to use it. Try to put important info visible at top and let users do as few screen scrolls as possible. Pls compact lines & make it a mobile UI.

The RESUME doesn't work until the mobile data is refreshed. Annoying. The timeout period is too short especially when at home. Let the user set the time period from 10 to 30 minutes. There are already other layers of security like screen lockout, trading password, and verification codes. Stop frustrating users by fixing a fraud problem that does not exist.

Don. F. Apr 13, 2022

Not happy as I can't find the price I originally bought stocks for. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Thanks for nothing. Identity verification code sometimes comes way after the 10 minute expiry time limit. Somedays, I'm totally unable to access my account all day!!!! Not happy!!

Sha. d. H. Feb 18, 2021

It is a definite improvement over the last one but it still feels very clunky and the UI is very plain. Also if you could connect to it through the CIBC mobile app it would add a layer of ease to using the 2 apps in tandem. Other then esthetics of the product keep it up CIBC its getting better.

And. P. Aug 16, 2019

at times when I really wanted to make some moves due to news, I couldn't even login and scroll on the landinf page. I ended up having to download on my work iphone. it is an odd app at times and not sure why. I've done a few android apps so I have tried to figure it out for them but I can only imagine it is designed in an odd way given my usage of this app

Min. K. Aug 26, 2020

The app works well with no major issues. Wish the app displayed intraday and previous day gains/losses in percent as well for easy overview without having to click through. Also, portfolio day and total gain/loss % from the main menu would be helpful instead of cash and securities total only.

I used to use cibc's desktop site on my Android tablet, but now they've updated the desktop site and it no longer works on Android even though I have the latest operating system. So I have to use this app it's clunky and it doesn't show nearly as much of the research that I need to trade as a desktop site does. I can't see the research on the desktop site or the app using my android tablet. It's a total waste of time and I'm considering changing trading platforms because of this.

Ter. K. Dec 12, 2021

The app when it works is ok. Cibc cant seem to keep it working without down time weekly lately. Also does not work on older samsung tabs but old app gone when tied to replace so no app for my samsung tab now when old one was great. So cibc needs to think of investors or get out of business with apps. Also reseach part of app requires one to go out of direct app so can compare investments with research at same time. Ridiculous. So when it works i gave a 3 . If it continued bad i will swifch bks.

Jer. C. Apr 7, 2021

The app is not nearly as streamline as it could be. Prices are severely delayed in certain sections compared to real time data. There is almost no customization available. I just made the switch from TD direct investing to save on commission fees and I am kinda regretting it.

Jud. P. Dec 13, 2021

Generally good for trading, however is missing important information that you can only get in the online version. Stock reports, news, dividend information. Not sure why this is. Seems like it should be easy to do. Moreover, the apps keeps nagging me to review it even though this is the second time I have reviewed this app. (Editing now again because it is still nagging me) Why would I trade a stock without knowing the ex-dividend date or recent news? Losing a star for more nagging.

Dan. M. Feb 18, 2021

App is easy to use and layout is decent but unreliable most of the time with forced booting to login page when just navigate the pages. Very slow speeds most likely from high traffic and not enough server bandwidth. Trading fee is low but you lose too much quality and reliability for those savings.

Bry. M. Feb 23, 2021

Very disappointed. Often VERY SLOW to load or completely crashes sometimes. This causes a lot of lost trading opportunities. I would avoid CIBC all together for trading accounts, based on this alone. I've lost a lot of money because of this lagging app. Also, recently updated and ironically removed many features, instead of adding features. Zero research data for stocks, besides current, open, close, 52 day high and low. Removed PE ratio, previous close value, book value in current status view.

Cas. K. Mar 10, 2022

Works well, but would be better if I could save preferences such as default to only show open orders and sort by symbol. Would be even better if I could set longer timeout.
