WARNING: Forced to use this app by Barnes and Noble. Used it fine for a few months a year ago, but now my purchased movies are no longer accessable because the app will not even load. I tried to contact support to no avail. At the site my email is not longer even recognized. DO NOT USE THIS APP.
I loaded this app to get my digital copy of my favourite movie, Crimson Peak. After loading it and redeeming my digital copy code, I downloaded the movie and tried to watch it. All I get is the little "loading" circle in the middle of my screen. It won't play from where it says it's stored on my device, either, just gives me an "error" message. If you're going to advertise that your app works on Android devices, it should do so. Horribly disappointed.
Used this app for a while and it froze every 10 minutes. Now all I see is the spinning circle to indicate it is loading. Tried restarting my devices & reinstalling the app. However, neither corrected the issue. UPDATE the company told me that their app is no longer compatible with Android devices. There is no ETA for a fix and they do not see it as a priority. They pretty much alluded to the fact that I should go purchase Apple products because they do not have this issue.
Getting message on 3 of the 4 movies I digitally downloaded to device from a dvd/blueray/digital combo pack, that I cannot play movie because I have used all my licenses. All 4 movies are on my phone, and same app, on two tablets, one works, three do not. Never buying a digital download combo pack again and definitely not using this crappy app ever again.
App work wonderfully until just resent. Every time I try to open, it sends an error that my "Time and Date" settings are wrong. I believe that the engineers of this app have abandoned us, and the owners of the app have just taken our money and shut us out.. In my opinion, thats theft! If i am wrong, then this app's administration needs to fix the situation, or refund me for my library of movies!
As many others have stated, this app simply doesn't work. The movies are purchased or rented just fine, but when it comes time to play them, the result is the blue-spining-wheel-of-forever that simply doesn't go away. I saw Deadpool in theaters, and I'm pretty sure it consisted of more than 103 minutes of a second-rate loading screen. This app, and service, are garbage.
This is app is useless. Plays ok on my phone, but refuses to Cast anything. Gives error:"Sorry, we had a problem playing this title. Please try again.(Error code = 2)". Does this on every movie I try. Tried the Android TV native app on my Shield TV and couldn't even sign in. I had to clear the cache and data from the app and then it finally let me sign in. Once I signed in I was surprised to see that the audio is only 2 channel! The app says it supports DTS-HD but it doesn't work. No update in 9 months!
Watching the movie seemed okay for the first 10 seconds and that's where the adventure began. I kept getting an error code could not load title movie I had rented and had in my library. I tried nearly 20 times with no luck. Tried to download app to tablet but it had download issues. Then I downloaded app to smart tv and the movie worked for about 2 mins before giving me could not play title. I restarted it and it worked for about 5 mins then same message again after constant repeated efforts.
They literally stole my money for complaining. I had problems with them from the start. When targeticket was sold to them they gave me store credit for all the shows and movies I had that they didn't carry. They shorted me several hundred dollars. Later they gave me some more store credit. I had several season passes that were having issues. It sometimes took over a week for episodes to become available. When I complained repeatedly and said I wanted my money back they took away all of my store credit.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, THEY STEAL FRON THEIR CUSTOMERS. I have bought several movies on this, and now when I try and play them on my device (which is up to date), I get an error saying the date and time is wrong and it wont load the app. I am supremely disapointed that they allow these errors. I have emailed their customer service several times and I have not even been gifted a response. I am looking into legal action against this company. BUYER BEWARE
I love cinema now. Much better than vudu or others like it. My only complaint is that it was released on the ps3, so I used it for all my movie purchases. Ps4 comes out.....no cinema now. Ya'll have lost a ,ot of purchases to Playstation store for this reason. Get it together and get back on PS.
This normally isn't a problem unless you are trying to use Chromecast. Whenever I watch a tv show all the way through, it doesn't finish the show. So the next time I want to watch that show it says "resume video" and will never give me the option to start over. Normally not a problem on my tablet, I simply rewind the video to the beginning. But now that I have Chromecast, it won't let me rewind it. I have one oppurtunity to watch it on Chromecast. This is the only app this happens to, not Hulu or Vudu :(
My application stopped loaded lost all the movies I've purchased and customer service will not respond. I think I'm out a ton of money and all the movie entertainment I've enjoyed for the past year or so since the Nook movie app merged with CinemaNotNow. Wish they would provide something
!!!BEWARE!!!: Downloading movies puts you in a postion of having any downloaded movie become inaccessible should a problem occur due to file corruption. I have been trying (since December 2016 with CinemaNow technical support) to fix such a problem (without success) following a failure of my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 system board (the board was replaced by the Geek Squad at Best Buy). I can no longer watch any movie that I had downloaded to the failed board.
Horrible company! Spent a lot of money on my movie library. FilmOn, parent company, shut down the services without warning in August 2017, July for Canada. No emails sent to their customers. No porting your library to a different streaming service. No refunds for your purchases. I have been robbed and deceived. The company is based in the UK, what are the chances of my refund? or offer of porting my library to Movies Anywhere or Vudu? AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS EVER REPONDED TO THE LIST OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS!
This app is aweful. I was forced here from Barnes and Noble for my movies off my Nook. Its constantly thinking. If I'm offline, there are no pictures to see what movie you are picking in your library. If you are online it wants to take me to the store and can't find it so it automatically shuts down. If you stop in the middle of a movie then try to go back it will eitherstart over or not start at all and your device will freeze. Don't waste your time or money on this app. Hate that Barnes and Noble forced us here.
I had tried Flixster first for watching my UV movies, but I had issues, and they weren't all that helpful. So I tried CinemaNow, and have effortlessly watched two movies on my cheapie smartphone(Kyocera Hydro Vibe). I did have an issue with o e title not linking to my CinemaNow, but that was just resolved, and the two reps I emailed back and fourth with were professional, and very helpful(and understanding!). Thank you, CinemaNow!
I have purchased several movies for my daughter who is disabled and now the app won't even open. It seemed to work fine right after Barnes and Noble stopped playing g movies but about 8 months ago the app stopped even loading. I have nothing good to say about this app. A waste of money for the movies I purchased.....again because the movies I purchased from B&N didn't transfer. Don't waste your money or time.
Is anyone else having issues streaming movies from cinema now through their chromecast? I have no other issues with other applications but I literally have to unplug my chromecast restart my phone Uninstall the application and log back in for it to load after waiting 10 min. Then I get an error message that it can't play after a few minutes. I use the app for my kids so it's kind of a hassle.
The app originally worked great. For well over a month now this app has stopped playing my uv movies. Customer services has been saying they've had issues with uv but they never state when they will be resolved or what I can do to still access my media
I want to download TV shows so I can watch them offline. You don't have the option of where to download them or where the app should look for the files. Since I only have 16gb on my tablet I need to save the files to my SD card, which I can't do. This is a total fail. Also, if you want an entire season of a show it is much cheaper to buy the DVD, if it has the option to link here. I bought season eight of Big Bang Theory for 14.00 to buy through here would have cost me more than twice as much.
It looks like this app has been terminated. You would think that they would actually indicate that instead of letting people reinstall and watch the loading screen do nothing. The really fun part is where the hell did all my ultraviolet movies go! So the company that bought CinemaNow can go pound sand! And the best part is there is no customer service whatsoever for those of us who used to use this app
Ones i have downloaded wont play. Have to be connected to internet to watch. Sent in help ticket no response. I get error code 1. I cant seem to get help so im posting hear
Purchased a few movies and was working great on my DVD player and phone app. However, now the DVD app doesn't work at all and the phone app doesn't play the movies. Emailed support they are sorry for the delay and offered a $5 credit to enjoy a movie but how do I enjoy the movie if they app isn't working. I spent money on movies that I can't even watch. Money in the toilet.
Not all my movies show up in library and some it shows I have 5 to 10 copies of. Most disney movies don't show up and library not consistent across devises. Would give better rating if it didn't have library problems trying to find 1 that works good all of them have problems but flixter and vudu u at least get ur full library
