The app is terrible! It gives you the run around and doesn't let you use your regular online credentials. It mas marginally ok until they required you to to update and now it's totally worthless and redundant. Customers are better off just going online rather than trying to use the app.
I notice multiple responses from the developers of this app stating you can still use the old app. That is totally false. The pop up to upgrade is persistent and will not allow you to use the old app. In addition, the website redirects to the updated website. I have no access to my mortgage.
This app use to be good...was easy to go on and pay my mortgage...now I'm getting that same message that many people are complaining about.. it's telling me that I need to upgrade and download the new citizens app... I keep getting that message and there is no way around it! All I want to do is log in to pay my mortgage! now I have to wait till the weekday to now call and jump thru hoops of fire to talk to someone and pay over the phone, so annoying, please fix!!!
I also keep getting the upgrade message. Since I use finger print log in I can by pass it and still get in. When I "upgrade" it downloaded a new app and I cannot use my correct log in info. It will not let me in. Super frustrating.
I used to really enjoy this app. However, as I today went to pay my home loan, the app has a pop-up saying I have to update and won't allow logging in. I downloaded the new app, and it wont allow me to login either. Reading other reviews shows developers told people the new app isn't ready yet and to use the old one, but thats not possible, the old app gives no way to be used. Apparently Citizens Bank no longer wants my loan paid???
Used this app before. It worked great. Now it says to upgrade, I did that and it had me download a new app. But when I want to view my mortgage account. It tells me to go to the home loan app that I already have. Still says need to upgrade even though I did. Fix this home loan app so I can continue using it to pay/check my mortgage info.
I had trouble registering and gave up. Birth date is requested, but one has to scroll through a calendar instead of being able to enter a date using numbers not the calendar. I'm an adult, so I had many months to scroll through to find my birthdate. When there was an error setting it up I was tasked with starting all over again. Not gonna happen. Additionally, there is no cursor showing where one is typing when you finally get to creating a username and password.
The app seemed nice, but I was unable to complete making a payment. When choosing pay now, the app asked me to enter the payment amount, but there was no way to enter an amount. The boxes regarding custom pay and amount due were selected appropriately, but the pay now amount always read zero and I could not find a way to enter an amount manually. Unable to make a payment using the app. Up until this point, fhe app seemed very organized, simple to use, and resourceful.
Name another company that requires you to register separately for their app, just to manage the same account, in the same way, as on their website. Bonus,.final step in registration fails because it's "unable to find" my account. Here I thought that was the whole point. And yes,. I'm giving the same personal info as is listed in my account details on the website, previous page even confirms they're valid. But any combination of username and password fails with the same error. Bleh
Used to work just fine but now unable to log in using previously registered credentials. Customer service has not been able to help after 6 months of trying. App is just broken and unusable from what I can tell. Too bad, it used to be great! EDIT: FINALLY today after countless calls and efforts by the Customer Service team they were able to get by credentials back in working order. Hopefully others can get their login issues resolved as well.
A few glitches in the set up process (did not clearly show errors and had to go back and re-enter info or this would be 5 stars) but I love how the app showcases the loan information! It shows how much interest you can save if you add additional principal to the loan & months off your loan. I love how clearly it states exactly how much was paid in principal vs interest and the current total. I've never used a financial app that was so visually clean & helpful.
At the end of Dec 2021 I went to pay as usual for my Mortgage. App says I need to update, installs this Citizens app. Won't let me login. Now I am sat on hold on the 800 number for over an hour. My login just won't work online either!! No problems for 6 months. Fix the app please!
App use to be good. Now it's saying to upgrade. Instead it tells you to get a whole new app. I put in my info and it doesn't work. I can't even use the old app because the upgrade feature is still up there.
Password doesn't work. Checked many times to ensure I'm using the correct one. Works fine on the web but this app won't accept it. ##EDIT## it apparently doesn't matter if you have a web account, you HAVE to create a new account with the mobile app. Also note that the input field for the SSN is buggy, it loses one of your numbers as you type it so you have to retype the number again. The error message is vague about something being invalid so I had to hunt for what wasn't formatted correctly.
Awful. All it does it telling me to update. I did. I cant access my account, pay my mortgage or get information about my loan. Customer service was also a waste of time. Not helpful at all.
Unable to login to my account and pay my mortgage. Message says I have to update/upgrade to a new version but keep getting the same result. Please fix asap!!!
I refinanced my house with Citizens One from Flagstar Bank and am trying to make my first payment on the app but it keeps saying "sorry, something happened. Please try again later." Pretty crappy app if it doesn't even work. Update: I recently found out that you cannot make payments past 8pm Eastern Time. I don't think that is right and I have never seen that before. All other loan or credit card apps let you make payments whenever you want
Update: 1/23/21- the app is completely useless, can never get past the load screen. I remember when it used to work a few years ago and it was a very nice app, shame. people you can easily enter your DOB, just click on the year!!! however app seems to keep crashing for me :(
The app had been working fine for me up until yesterday when my phone prompted me to select a default home screen app every time I pressed home. I could not get the message to go away and went so far as to factory reset my phone and lose all of my data out of sheer frustration. After the reset I reinstalled my important apps for paying bills and the messages came back. I started uninstalling apps one by one until the messages disappeared and this app was to blame, absolutely terrible.
App discontinued apparently? Getting a pop up saying need to use new Citizens app that requires you to enroll in mobile banking with them too.
Impossible to change/reset password. Even when I enter the recovery password it always shows "error occured while attempting to change your password". Dont bother downloading, log on via browser. Even with the newest update, retrieving password is impossible - when I enter my credentials, I'm unable to log in - even though password works in mobile browser. Only "improvement" - when attempting to reset my password, message is "unauthorized". Still useless.
This is the worst app ever!! The previous wasn't the best but my account was easily accessible. This is a joke!
Downloaded the app, attempted to register, received an error message stating that something went wrong try again later. Tried 3 more times later. It recognized my account but did not recognize my login credentials and said I needed to call to resolve. Been in IT for 20 years, this should not happen with an app that is so important to the company's customers.
The apps overall functionality seems to be fine and has a modern appeal. The fact that none of the information syncs with the website is a very poor design. Having to create an identical but separate account is inconvenient. Whomever allowed the development team to approve this design should reconsider their audience.
I'm a new customer and I set my account up on line, I logged in a couple of times and everything worked fine. Now I try to log in and it tell me my login/password is wrong. Then I try to change the password and it tells me the ssn is incorrect. So I call, get a recording SAID THEY WILL CALL IN 2 DAYS. UNBELIEVABLE. Now I download the app and it doesn't work. Customer rating -10.
I found the app easy to setup and very helpful. Awesome that my financer would put extra effort to show how extra payments can lower my interest paid, adjust amortization, etc.. That's very good information when trying to get out of debt. Thanks!
I really like the app so far. I see people complaining about not being able to pick the year of their birth when registering, but if you click the current year in the top left corner, it takes you to a list of years, so you can jump to the year you need. Very easy process.
tried to install. it has one of those calendars for your DOB where you have to scroll through each year one month at a time. It starts with the current date. if I have to spend a half hour scrolling back to log in I can imagine how user friendly the app is. I uninstalled before finding out.
Not understanding the negative reviews. I think there could be more clarity on things like the need to register this app with a unique set of credentials. Some of the ui navigation seems repetitious and slightly confusing. Else, this app once configured works great.
Unable to access my account. All I get is a pop-up that tells me there is an updated version. Downloaded a completely new app. But the new app won't even let me log in using my user info. When I try to re- enroll, I can't. Tried searching my account, There is no account that matches my information. Useless.
