Excellent game, smooth mechanics, enjoyable yet easy to use with a fun level of challenge I was looking for. The reason why I did not give it four or five stars though is you have to pay to play anymore than the first campaign. I understand the need to have some content for sale, but disappointed I couldn't play one or two more for free. 🤷♂️
All is good until you get to the Battle of Iuka. Even at easy level, the computer side has miracle shooting abilities, can charge and kill units, then shoot any adjacent units at will, while your forces are incompetent and cannot hold anything even with the strongest units on favorable terrain. Can't totally recommend this game, seems to be Hex Wars standard MO now in their games.
I don't really like how every "campaign" so to speak, is $2.99. Then again, each Hex Games civil war game is $10 (I think) on steam. But for a mobile app it's amazing, I'm a big fan of the board games Civil War: 1862 is based off of. I just really wish you didn't have to pay for every "campaign" or whatever it is.
it's a good well-thought-out game of course my complaint is the same as everyone else's don't want to give him the two bucks for every time you want to help to a different level but they have worked out a lot of the freezing up issues it almost never does it now
Enjoyable tactical battle reminiscent of did Meier's civil war or memoir '44. But the scenarios were a little repetitive and I had no desire to pay $2 per additional campaign which averaged about 2 hours of gameplay.
The enemy's troops can fire at a longer range than my troops constantly giving them the advantage defeating the purpose of it be a strategy game because they have the upper hand no matter what.
This has the potential to be the best Mobile Civil war game, However the fact that you Kind of have to pay to fully enjoy it is a buzzkill. If they removed the Pay to play element and replaced it with Ads after a Battle you could have a Very Profitible and Enjoyable Game
well, its ok only because almost all of the levels are 99 cents each and I do happen to reccall that I was playing civil war 1864 without an issue untill by the second round of COLD STEEL it kicked me out saying "if you want to buy this scenareo just go ahead and pay 99 cents for it!" this upset me and this kind of sucked the fun out of the civil war game yet, its still good! and I know I'm writing about a differint hex game yet they are all the same topic! (civil war)
Was a Little disappointed Antitiem was not part of the Battles. But all in all a good game.
You have to buy every level after level one that is the worst idea you can have
When I download is Soooo slow.sorry for talking like that.why I gave only 4 stars because is download Soooo slow. Old do it fix it and download faster SO PLS I BEG YOU.
its ok but pls dude make it were the campaign is free but over all its great and ps the south will rise again
I would rate it higher if it wasn't for the troops missing all the time
Enimies have more range since my range says miss and the Enimies say 1 or 2.impoosible
You aren't playing a game when the enemy has double the men and they have cannon too.
The game is really fun but when I get fizzes a lot Getter I the Tory
totally pay to play once first campaign is done.
The civil war game 1862 app is athentic strategy game I have ever seen it's awesome.
Only one campaign it was fun
Great Fun and relaxing
Have to pay to keep playing.
Doesn't do anything just plays a tune
Can't get past the 2nd battle
good but could be better
It was fun
Game isn't opening in my set what is happening i dont know...it didnt open for single time i even can't see what inside
Well it's good but it's a dick move to make only one campaign free
The game is fun, but it freezes a lot during the opponent's turn. It's annoying because I have to close it and restart it, then resume game to keep playing. It usually does this a few times per game. If it wasn't for this, I would have no complaints. All of the hexgames I have installed do this. It's unfortunate and hopefully this can be fixed.
