Classic Centipede

I love most of the games in the series (especially Phoenix). Centipede is one of my all-time favorite Arcade Game, so I jumped on this immediately. This version is very smooth, though a bit different than the original arcade game. Scorpions normally poison mushrooms, but in this version they just leave a trail of more mushrooms. One of the key elements of a centipede is when they touch a poison mushroom and kamikaze down to the bottom of the screen. The game is still quite fun though I Wish two issues were addressed: One being the sound. It’s awful and not even close to being sound from the arcade, and the other problem is there for directional arrow. Centipede Uses a trackball in the original arcade game, so the developer should have had a round disc controller instead of four directions, to at least simulate the trackball. Sorry, graphically, in 2020 it's below the 1980 arcade standard.....looks more like a Atari 2600 version. And the controls?.....really clunky and bad.....you just can't react fast enough....someone suggested a swipe control....I agree it would feel more natural, but anytime i play a game where if you're parked on the bottom of the screen, a finger swipe method would probably activate the back out button on your device. Then there's ads of course. I know you need them.. but not every round.

It was cool for 2 mins. I got to level 2 and app went blank?! I could get past the retro 80s graphics but the screen was blank, music playing and when asked to exit I said yes and it STILL did nothing. So it was uninstalled...what a disappointment! I mean I just got a brand new LGV60 5g and was looking for new games. This obviously wont be one! 😪

The controls are not bad compared to the arcade game but there is at least one very serious bug. I was on level 4 and the screen flashed, then went to a white screen and then I find myself on level 1 again.

I enjoyed the 1st game I played. As soon as I pressed the next button an add popped up. I thought that it would be random pop ups but nooooo. There was an add pratically after each game. Too many ads!!

Sub par! You can't control the ship with your fingertip, instead a "controller" is shown on bottom 1/4 of screen with buttons. Graphics aren't even as good as the og Arcade version.

There use to be a version of this app that would let you rotate your phone and play. That felt more natural to me, and honestly I would definitely pay for a version like that. This version is a good alternative but I would love if it was more like the original game.

Controls are horrible. Fire button is too slow and do I need to mention how many ads there are? Good lord. Ads after each round of play. Horrible. Uninstalled.

I hate advertisement. every level has useless ads. enough is enough. I WILL NOT play games that constantly push ads. I would rather pay for a game.

I love centipede and this is as close as you get, however, TOO MANY ADS!! Every other screen! Really! Offer an "ad free" option to purchase the app outright

Apparently this game is meant for left handed players because the press-only fire button is on the right and the 4 direction controller is on the left. This is the exact opposite of the real arcade game.

I love the game play, would pay to stop the adds. There are so many ads... And it really is the best centipede ive found. Expt the ads...

Excellent game - too many ads however, every other level. Shame really, spoils a cracking old school experience.

lousy.it would be good if you could just touch and drag your finger around to move your shooter instead of having to touch one of four buttons.

pretty cool kinda fast but it wakes up your sight ... a ball joysctick for better movement like original game from the 80s would be cook with the white pool ball or different colors would smooth out the thickness of the games butttons ball joysctick and shooter butons on both sides

UPDATE REVIEW: 01.24.2020. A.D. NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHER ONE LIKE GAME. FIRE BUTTONS STILL STICKNG game it needs a finger sensor or something like it also STUPID LOUD FULL PAGE ADS interrupt gaming between levels disturbing game. Do something put them at the end or at the begining of game. ty.

I have a Chromebox. Anyone who can remember the arcade game and has a chromebox is not going to enjoy this.

Love the game. Would have gave a 5 star if i wasn't having an issue with the leaderboards. Wont post my highscore on the boards. VERY AGGRAVATING. plz help!

i love game spent many quarters in arcade. But i like to play without ads.i would buy once a month for a fee.

looks similar to the original game but the controls completely ruin it. do not waste your time. uninstalling it right noe

It's the best to meny ads but just turn off your wifi and no more ads and you can still play.

Slightly updated version than the original but very playable for me. It's like you'd want it to be 🕷️🐛

Love the old version that I used to play back when I was a teenager and so glad we can get it again!

Constant ads that last forever and you can't click out of them.
