Folks, 'The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia' was written in 1972 by songwriter Bobby Russell and sung by Vicki Lawrence, his wife at the time. He didn't want to record it himself, because he "didn't like it". Wikipedia is your friend. As for the game, it's ok; I scored 8 out of ten correct on my first try. I'll see how it goes as I play it more ...

I thought I knew a lot about this era, but I didn't know Vince Gill sang "The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia". I've heard it by Reba & it was originally a pop hit by Vicki Lawrence.

Author obviously has a very narrow and limited knowledge of classic country music. Most questions are pedantic for anyone with the most rudimentary knowledge of the subject. These are not trivia questions. They are “Classic Country Music 101” questions. Answer choices are frequently pop or rock and roll artists and groups. After five minutes it's very boring and eye-rolling insulting to real knowledgeable fans of country music. Only the subject itself compels me to award two stars and not one.
