It is as described, a solo word, scrabble-like, game. It is very basic, few options that you are able to change. Different difficulties to choose from. For me, it was just too simple and boring. Honestly some relaxing background music and free tile/board decoration changes would have led me to keep the game. As is, just lacks a few upgrades. Also not bombarded with ads is a HUGE plus. 4 stars for the honesty of the game to description and in hopes that updates happen in the near future!
Good levels from beginner to expert. Non intrusive ads. Word definitions. Clear and easy interface. There's nothing be to dislike about this version of Scrabble. The worst part is just some of the words are what I would call pushing the limits, like French words that aren't really used in English and some slang words but they're only minor points.
Revising my review! Full screen!Text has improved! Still my favorite game! I hate the update! Playing on Chromebook, the app is no longer full screen. The highlighted text is hard on the eyes and looks as if it is bold text. The ads at top of screen are distracting and annoying. One of my favorite games has been ruined! Layout is terrible!
I really enjoy this app - challenging myself to match or beat my highest score. While it is true that there are occasions when the dictionary doesn't recognise a word that is in common use - and that can be frustrating - it only happens rarely. I can accept that such things are inevitable as not all dictionaries are identical. Another point in its favour, is the fact that it is a game in which the ads do not interrupt the play - with only one ad between each game. A well deserved 5 stars.
AI needs work. On Very Hard, the bot makes simple mistakes and will often pass near end of game even with a playable 8-10 point tile in hand. This is something that a player of reasonable skill wouldn't do. On expert, the play is slightly more challenging but not due to AI skill. On expert, the software simply deals the bot 3 bingos a game or more, a statistical impossibly.
Love turned to hate. The letters you get are unnatural; not random. It feels less like a game and more like software and programming. It starts out fun, like so many games, eventually you realize the fun factor is deminishing, your average score is dropping, and youre getting progressively worse letter combos... theres nothing natural or fun about that!
Brilliant for solo players. I play against the computer, you can pause/save if you get called away. It's just good fun. There are different levels e.g easy, normal, hard etc. Ads are unobtrusive usually, some play loud but I turn the sound down so it's not a problem.
Would give this game five stars but there are words that are in the Collins dictionary that are not accepted. Yet slang words are. Also, for the past week the scoring seems to be having issues. The scoring remains at 0. The only way to eventually get it to work is to exit the game and shut down the app, then go back and open it, play a word, then exit and execute the loop 5 or more times until it starts working. I think something needs tweaked.
I don't usually review anything, but I love Scrabble, and there are no annoying ads in this version, maybe on in a banner at the top of the screen bit I haven't noticed any others. Probably the best game I've played on a phone! Highly recommended for any Scrabble player.
Excellent UI, comfortable UX, good game levels, just the right level of motivational levers, perfect algorithm for dealing letters and droid play level. Excellent programming. Enjoyable. Largely bug-free. Very easy to use. Addictive. Sets you up to try harder or novel words. Is loyal to the original Scrabble dictionary and only plays/permits playing words from there (that's a good thing), no ads, permits plenty of time to play, can play at a relaxed or competitive pace as you wish. The BEST!
Challenging! I like that. I play the Extremely Hard level against the "computer". Can say I win more than lose; however, the "computer" puts up a good fight and vice versa. I have had no glitches, lags or any issues with the app. Not signing in limits features. There are ads every time you exit the game. Annoying, but not worth making a purchase for me.
I LOVE this game. Its challenging, it can be a quick game if you want or a long drawn out game ... it's up to you. I've never run into a word the system didn't recognize. It is truly the old-fashioned crossword puzzle, and if it's too easy or too hard there are many different levels you can be challenged on. I love ❤ this game it accommodates me on many different levels.. yaaaa!!
I downloaded this because it was single player. I have been playing it on the normal setting. While consistently able to beat it, the opponent plays well, expanding the playing field using long words and has the ability to display the meaning of words played. It does not allow input of non-valid words. It has helped to keep my mind sharper, building on my vocabulary.
I love this game more than similar word games I've installed. I've got over 50 yrs experience playing word games & it's a pretty good challenge for me in the Extremely Hard mode. It's actually beat me a few times!! Playing in Normal mode would be a good challenge for the average player. I highly recommend this game, however they still have a few bugs to work out. It is really disappointing to accomplish a new achievement and then realize you didn't get credit for it. The game crashes a lot, too.
The user interface is very good. The ads are small and unobtrusive during a game. No interruptions during a game. This game beats the pants off of Scrabble GO, which is very disruptive and annoying. The difficulty levels seem to be effective. I started on medium and won almost all of the time. Then I switched to hard, and I am winning about 60% the time -- just right for now.
This is my first time playing it. Enjoying it so far. Suggestions-->Double tap to put a tile back. Also let you see instantly if the word is valid and how many points it would be without having to push "play" button. I love that the computer plays so fast and gives definitions for the words that not only it plays but also lets you highlight your own words and gives the definition for them as well !
i love this game, however there is one element that is periodically annoying, that i hope they can address. There are times i have a tile or two left, and i can see where i can make words yet, but the game will automatically stop and not allow you to play them thru, even though you haven't passed on your turn. Even if it isn't changing the game outcome, it's still annoying to not be given the chance to let your score be the best it can, and have those points deducted, instead of added.
This game is just perfect, if you like playing against the computer (as I do). There are ads (to be expected) but they come up after each match, not after every word placed, like another Scrabble game I used to play. The only thing I would like to see added, is a dictionary. I've tried other Scrabble games, even the one that keeps being advertised, but that can GO elsewhere, it so confusing just to play against the computer. I'm loving this game, definitely recommend playing it. Keep it up guys.
Overall I like this game. It works well, not too many ads, challenging. The fact I can take my time between moves is nice, makes it relaxing, as i can make a phone call, get a coffee or check a message while playing. The one thing I've noticed tho is, sometimes the computer gets by with a word I was denied or has an extra letter when according to the bag, they are all used. For instance, the q. Bag shows only one, I have it, yet the computer plays one. Not fair.
Great way to play solo and pass the time. I really love to beat Android, but can I make a few suggestions. First of all, we should only have a limited time per game, a choice could be made on accepting the challenge. Secondly, if you do not need to swap tiles, but aponent does, then you can receive an extra point depending on how many tiles are changed. Finally, if you leave the game, for whatever reason, you lose. I am sure that some words are offered by Googles brains not the opponent.
Highly recommended! Better than the original game with far fewer annoying ads. I've settled into "my" level, in which I win 60-70% of games and score an average of 275 points. Playing style is also more suited to my own, in other words, the Droid plays rather like I do. Also, very prompt support from developer when I came upon a glitch. Great stuff!
There is a bug where tiles will sometimes disappear from the game when you swap or use a blank. Also, the AI will occasionally do very foolish things even on higher difficulty levels. Otherwise, it's a good game. edit: the bug seems to happen when you exchange more than one of the same letter, some of them will disappear. edit: i see that the recent update did not fix this bug. weak.
Like the game, but wish it would alternate between the computer starting and me starting. There are too many "you start" games. Also, it's obvious that the computer is "not very good" at this game. It does not often make the highest scoring word possible, nor does it take advantage of obvious high scoring placements. I guess the developers want their customers to win.
Too easy - even on the "Extremely Hard" level. Now, I'm no major whizz kid or champion. But I've played 15 games and lost only one. It's as if the computer isn't even trying. It plays low score words and leaves me open to the Double and Triple word scoring squares too often. It's supposed to be extremely hard, but it's playing like a total novice. Come on, give us a REAL challenge!
I really love the way the words the droid uses are real words used in everyday life. I use the beginner's level because I find it really relaxing as well as stimulating to get good letters, nearly always win and it still keeps my brain and memory exercised. I am 64 and want to remain mentally alert. I also use the French option as well from time to time to improve my French. Great the ads only come at the end and not after every move.
This is an awesome game because it stimulates your brain and improves your memory and increases your volcabulary! It is not a waste of time as some other nonsensical games are. And the computer indicates whether you have played the best word possible and if not, shows you the word you should have played for more points. Also there are different levels from the beginner to the "extremely hard" level so even children can play and win against the dreaded 'Droid" haha
Love it. Just like Scrabble. Easy to use. Entertaining. I prefer to play vs AI which matches my level. I wish there were higher difficulties. Can play offline but no word definitions. Only thing I don't like is some obscure foreign words/international slang are accepted and others are not, so some consistency would be good. Otherwise, great game!
