i think it's definitely time for an update you haven't done one since 2016 and the app keeps stopping and continues to buffer with no end in sight please do something about this im extremely loyal to WGBH radio and television and have been for decades
I love WCRB, but streaming continually stops on the app. I have to press stop, then play to resume. Then a few minutes later it stops again. Makes the app useless.
buffering (stop) buffering (stop). Unlistenable if you have to restart so much. Can't use it. Also no Google Cast. Love the station, app not so much.
I figured out why the stream pauses when I turn off the screen: you have to turn off power saving mode! Very nice app now!
App stops every 5 minutes or so. I installed Simple Radio. Streaming works with no problems.
wonderful to enjoy WCRB on my phone, LG G7, and my Chromebook! Update with new phone Pixel 4XL; not compatible with Android 10, app keeps closing
Keeps dropping out, especially when my phone screen locks. I don't want to keep my phone unlocked just to use the app
No matter how many times I reinstall this app it works for five to ten minutes and then just stops.
only plays current piece. no access to site. not always correct about what's plaing
Awfully unstable and unreliable.
An excellent classical music station. An island of calm in today's hectic world.
Same issue as others report with app stopping
Keeps stopping after a few minutes
The stream will cut out frequently
Love this app!
This app is very meh - my father grew up in Massachusetts and this radio station makes everywhere feel like home. I love the programming- beat Philadelphia's programming by a long shot, that said the app is sub par. It often stops functioning for no reason and has limited offerings or customizations. If they are looking for an example of an outstanding app they should take a look at Minnesota Public Radio's (MPR) app which I stumbled across while looking for choral music and have been in love with ever since.
Update 06/2019: the app hasnt been updated in 2 years. still the same issues. Very disappointing. This application is a lost opportunity. I'm very disappointed. 1. Doesn't support tablet mode - it runs sideways on my tablet. This is 2016! 2. Doesn't support Google Cast. 3. No indication of streaming speed. I might want a low bit rate on my phone when I'm walking the dog, but use a higher one at home.
99.5 is such a great service to the classical music community. Thank-you for the beautiful music early in the morning and late at night.
Simple and always works. Great for when a music identifying app can't pick up on a piece, I just open the app and it's right there.
Installed and reinstalled but keeps buffering on my Samsung Galaxy 6. No other app I have has this problem.
This is the perfect streaming app! Simple and elegant in its design, it streams flawlessly. It continues streaming on the background while you use other apps and even keeps going if you lock your phone. Absolutely fantastic!
I really enjoy listening to WGBH's classical radio station from my tablet as we're out of range of the radio station. It tends to stop when using a few of my other apps. Other than that, I really appreciate it!
This app only streams the over-the-air WCRB broadcast. Their excellent mobile web site offers three additional channels, and much else. Use the web site and forget the app. I uninstalled it after one minute.
Living in Delaware we do have a classical station, but nothing compares to WCRB. Excellent.
I luv classical music. The selection offered by WCRB is excellent. Well done!
App is simple, tells you what's playing, doesn't depend on flaky browser compatibility issues, it just works. Couldn't ask for more!
Great app. Use it on the bus when the driver won't change the music
You love classical music and can't stand hearing the classics of classical anymore? (Bach Beethoven in loops eg) this radio is for you!
Stream never reconnects if it drops, so you just constantly have to pause and unpause every minute or so, and then the now playing display will be our if sync with the music making the app pretty much useless. This experience was on both wifi and mobile data in a major us city
