As far as I can tell the free version of AVG cleaner works well. It has ads, but they're not really intrusive. However, to a certain extent, I believe upgrading to the paid ad-free version would certainly be more advantageous. I have not upgraded, yet. I already pay for some of AVG's services, but I have yet to see a package offered that's all-inclusive full-service protection from AVG. I'd prefer everything all in app, with one yearly price, instead of having several different AVG apps.
Idk if their marketing dept knows but they show ads for other cleaner apps. Deceiving so try not to click them it makes it look like you need to update this app. This app was better years ago because it did not have as many weird ads. I feel as if that takes up some of the space just cleaned as if the cleaner did not perform its duty.
Had a problem with ads playing then reloading, playing reloading, etc etc. Seems to have stabilized, it's back to playing one commercial then doing it's thing. For free, I can't really complain
I had downloaded this app because I already had your anti-virus app, but I'm starting to wondering if it's of any use. Every time I get a notification from your app, telling me I need to do this or that, it doesn't want to do anything. It wants me to pay to do more. I think I'll be Uninstalling your useless app and go back to my DU phone cleaner that actually did it's job and never begged for money.
It seems to work well. Had issues with Gmail not displaying notifications but after first quick clean it started working properly. 4 stars because of the constant pushing to purchase pro version which will not give you much more.
I don't like the free version as much as I used to. It just told me to uninstall Google Play store! It was a "battery drainer!" It doesn't clear cache like it used to, and being a handicapped senior on an extremely fixed income, I'm not buying the premium version. This is ridiculous. Uninstall Google Play store!
LOL! Regardless of liking what the app does I only give it a one star because the other app they have wouldn't do a complete clean unless I downloaded this app and once I did then they wouldn't do a complete clean unless I bought an upgrade! LOL! Talk about grimy!!! I've never in all my life seen something that disgusting!!! Shame on you!!! That's as pathetic as it can possibly get!!!!!
Delivers exceptional service, even with the free version (if you just need a basic but efficient cleaner). I highly recommend purchasing the premium subscription if you really want to keep your device up and running for the longest time possible. One check-up a day keeps "throwing your phone in the trash every two months" away!
Avoid avoid avoid! Get this app at your peril! It plays Russian Roulette with your phone's operating system. The first time I used this app in it's so-called "safe" mode, it deleted several sub-directories, thereby ensuring the camera couldn't save photos and crippling several other apps. It also lost three months worth of WhatsApp conversations and made the phone very very slow. The only way to restore functionality is a factory reset. You have been warned!
I have always had my storage maxed out so tried this cleaner to see if it would help. As soon as I downloaded it I began having massive battery drain. Uninstalling to see if that is the issue. Also, too many ads and distractions. Just need something simple. Should not be that hard to keep the cache cleared. Actually, I think it should be automatically cleared by the phone manufacturer's programming.
It doesn't even finish cleaning or boosting then straightaway I'm taken to an unskippable ad for a game..I can't close till its done. If i try to, it takes me to play store. So I have to close the entire app..🤦🏾♂️ Before I would only get ads after cleaning, etc, which l didn't mind but this tactic to annoy people to pay premium version.. Update - the ads aren't so obnoxious anymore but now I'm getting notifications popping in the middle of doing things, reminding me of battery, scan, etc
This is one of the worst application that I have purchased. It says a lot about deep cleaning. But does nothing. When ever i do for deep cleanups it says sorry unable delete cache. then What for this app. I lost 500Rs. Do not download this useless. Furthermore I received an official communication that I have made payment to third party phishing pop-ups which displayed On their app.
I'm trying to do my first scan and while it's asking me preferences, the app freezes and won't continue scanning. I can't even get through the first scan. I'm about to delete this worthless app
I've been using this on my Chromebook, and it works very well. One of the most useful options is "Force Stop." Amazing, how many of our apps run in the background unnecessarily! It's great how AVG Cleaner gets them to stop -- it speeds up performance greatly. Double thumbs up!!!
I installed the app and signed up for the free trial and wanted to pay for the whole year if it performed well .I got the VPN and they took my credit card information. Well, when I woke up this morning the app was no longer on my phone !!!! Is this app a scam or what? I felt betrayed. Buyer BEWARE.
Performs a minimal cleaning, then offers more robust cleaning if you upgrade. Merely automates function a user can do manually. Not worth the time to download and install. Almost identical to Avast. Virtually worthless, like the bloated resource hog computer version. Great product in the early years. Not so much these days. Uninstalling.
It ruined all the pictures in my gallery. Said it was optimizing them but now gallery won't open them. I can see the thumbnail but the file opens to a white error image instead.
Free version is what I still use and seems to improve performance considerably I will eventually upgrade to a paid membership but it's really not needed for the same type of thing as much more expensive names and I think I would put it up against any of the others I can think of.. great product guys
Six months ago I wrote I won't renew. Whatever I wrote I take it back. Have not had any issues for what the app claims to do. I have the anti-virus app of which I am extremely satisfied. When looking for another option I discovered and I quote, "If it ain't broke; Don't fix it. AVG is working for me!
Often use this free version because it allows the option to use a feature if you watch a short product video. Win-Win in my books. Works like a breeze always.
Works great but wish it would stop apps from restarting in the background. I installed it on my new LG Stylo 6 and now my phone freezes up to the point that it will not even turn off. I only have 4 apps installed and they are the very same apps that I had on my other LG Stylo 6. It says that it stops apps from running in the background when running long term boost but the very same apps restart.
AVG Keeps changing their minds & their "updates" so you either can or can't do some of the most basic but useful cleaning without getting the pro version.I'm not saying that isnt worthwhile if thats what you want,but now I cant even use it to hibernate some of the peskiest apps.It does so little now I almost deleted it,and I still might yet,because right now it uses more space than it saves.My review will keep changing whenever they change the apps behavior;in kind. They sure change it often.
