Clear Fear

Clear Fear provides you with a range of ways to manage anxiety.

Developed by a clinician co-collaboratively with young people, Clear Fear uses a Cognitive Behavioural framework to help you change anxious thoughts and emotions, alter anxious behaviours and calm fear responses.

It also has helpful descriptions of the different ways in which anxiety shows, resources and a grit box to boost resilience.

It is recommended for the ages of 11-19 years but can be used by a younger group with the support of a parent or carer.

Clear Fear compliments, but does not substitute for the assessment and ongoing support of a mental health.

Good app, just two notes. When I try to type a text I cannot scrol the screen down enough to keep seeing the textbox. It disappears behind my keyboard. And I would like some excercises in it that are also in calm harm. It seems that app contains more coping strategies than just cbt and a breathing excercise it also has more interaction than clear fear. But it is a bit weird to read about harm when it is about anxiety. Another option would be to choose in the harm app what one is using it for.

It's a great app, but when you use Worry Warriors/Worry Box/Worry Ladder, you can't delete the automatically added "positive thoughts" from your positive thoughts tab. Sometimes triggering statements from the Worry Box pop up and there's no way get rid of them. Even if you don't tap "let warrior win" it'll still log whatever you wrote as a positive thought. I find myself having to be extremely careful of what I write in these sections or else it'll forever be in the app.

Can't get the app to open - loads the logo, then goes white and just stays there, never loading. Have both cleared the cache, and uninstaller and reinstalled to no avail. Super disappointing 😔

Brilliant app! I like that the features use cognitive reconditioning to manage anxiety. However, the app itself could use some adjustments. For instance, the text boxes don't automatically resize or reposition above the keyboard when they're too low in the screen, so you can't see what you're actually typing; you can't even scroll the page to adjust its visibility.

It's a great app that has really helpful tools for anxiety sufferers. But for some reason on my device every time the app is closed and then reopened later it requires me to go through the set up again each time, it seems unable to store the information I give it each session, which is irritating and disappointing. Is there a way to solve this issue?

It's fantastic and very in-depth, I really love this app. It also has great security to protect privacy and has different exercises to help with different types of anxiety. But, unfortunately, after I closed out the app it deleted all my information and I had to start all over. If the developers could fix this issue, it would be the perfect anxiety app.

I really like the app but it is hard to find things in the menus. An example is anxiety types and info are separate and safety net, immediate help buttons should have been together under the clear fear button instead of goal setting. Menus could be simple like goals, inspiration, relax, information and a button to clear anxiety rather than repeating the same safety net and other activities within multiple menus. Also there is no Cbt.

Was really keen to try this app, however after installing I never get past a blank screen, even tried uninstalling then re installing with no luck. Definitely disappointed 😞

Have been using the app for a while and really been finding it helpful. I think the only issue I've ran into was with the goals and I can't seem to create a goal with the push notification reminders turned on. A minor issue to me, but still thought that it was something worth noting.

I've been using the breathing exercise a lot, which is great, but every time I finish and hit 'yes' it crashes and displays a white screen, I've used it almost 10 times, and only once has it gone onto the next screen, nowhere else in the app have I had this problem

Has really honestly helped me better myself. I have a tendency to talk down to myself for things I can't control, and this app has done so much to help that with the activities it offers. I've been treating myself better and even started working out and eating better. It's a good app and I recommend getting into the habit of using it whenever you need

Love the app so far, but it won't let me edit my completed goals! I mistakenly pressed "complete goal" on the goal I had just typed up and would like to edit it to be uncompleted. There should be an option to edit or delete completed goals the same way there is for incomplete goals.

this app gives very useful and concrete excercises to help manage different types of anxiety. It really helped me regain a sense of self-efficacy. Don't be put off by the cartoons- this app is useful no matter what age you are. I have recommended this app to friends in real life and so I'm recommending it here.

Most of the suggestions for managing anxiety are all self-input based. I don't know what things I can do to manage my anxiety so lists are useless, and the one visual and one breathing techniques don't really help.

The app is cool, don't get me wrong, but it tries to make a new account everytime! I have to enter my gender and age and security question everytime I visit it. Luckily, it still saves me safety net, which is weird but good. Other than that, I've enjoyed calm harm and it certainly looks like I'll enjoy clear fear!

It has the potential to be a very good app, but whenever I close it I have to redo the whole set up process, like the date of birth and stuff which is really annoying. Edit: Developer responded quickly and helped me fix the issue. Thank you:)

I was recommended to this application by my therapist, and found the resources in this application helpful. However, I do realise that there is a bug that doesn't save your information when you close out of the application. Therefore, I would have to manually key in all my details from startup again. Other than the issue I mentioned, the application overall is great.

I saw this app on a post on Facebook. The FB user was promoting it so I downloaded it to check it out. I have severe anxiety so I'll give anything a try to help ease it. So far I can say: I LOVE IT. The exercises there are to choose from, I can see them helping me when I do go into my "episode". They'll help me focus on something to take my mind away from my anxious thoughts. My thoughts are toxic to me. It's also calming. I'll have to use it when I'm actually having an "episode".

it's a great and helpful app overall. my only issue is that the keyboard covers up what i'm typing, and the app won't let me scroll to see, so i have to constantly put my keyboard away to see what i wrote and then bring it back up to keep writing.

Don't get me wrong, I love the app, and it has helped me quite a bit. However, every single time I go to click into the app, I have to go through the original sign up process again. I've tried answering everything including the questions that claim to be optional, I've tried not answering, I don't know. Other than this, I would have probably given the app 4 or 5 stars.
