I've found this app invaluable. All the modules work perfectly. Well worth the small cost for the ad free Pro version. And (in response to a recent complaint about "non-words") I find it doesn't take the brains of an archbishop to view the suggestions list and do my own elimination of unlikely words! Overall, an exemplary app.
Excellent. It does what you expect it to do straight out of the box, very intuitively. Missing letters or anagrams automatically. The adverts are not intrusive. When you want to put the time into learning the more advanced instructions then it does lots of clever things. Tutorials are online and available from the app's help menu. A nicely thought out app.
Perfect easy, help solve and you learn, meanings can be looked up from app. One improvement would be to move the pink circle filter button towards the left. When there is a long list of words the pink circle sits on the magnifying glass symbols, so it is hard to hit the look up definition for words at the bottom of a list, as you cannot scroll the page any more.
A really GREAT app! Very useful, easy to use, and with many different functions, inc. Anagrams & Missing Letters, etc. AND!...not too many ads, which are mostly quite unobtrusive, anyway! It's my "go to" app for X-words, and I've used only this one since installing several years ago. Really can't understand why it has only 100,000 downloads, because, for me, it's the BEST!
Crosswords are completed using a process of elimination. You can't eliminate easily if you're presented with a list of non-words! The app isn't intelligent or considered at all - it just throws letters together! Many of the 'words' it suggests would never ever be in a crossword ('prezzies' 'quizzify', 'scuzzbag', and, unbelievably, 'spazzing') , so what's the point of them being suggested?! This app doesn't justify its title!
It is very good but occasionally it doesn't suggest a word. The improvements at each update make this app very good
Works well with some powerful functionality. However, in usage, it might be better if, instead of using a full stop in word pattern searches, one could use a space as the full stop is a small key (next to the larger space bar) on the g-keyboard and easy to miss.
Easy to use but seems to get confused when filters are used and can't find certain words
Used a different crossword solver until GP pulled it. Installed this one and am well impressed. The multi word anagram solver is a great help and the link with supported dictionary is a boon. Only issue I have (me not app) is using full stop for blanks instead of space bar. I've used this app for months and still use space for blanks by mistake. But, with the multi word anagram solver space bar must mean space. A great app that is easy to use with many options. A massive "THANK YOU" to the Dev.
Amazing functionality! An easy-to-use interface, extensive database that leaves nothing out, and incredibly useful search parameter functions making great use of wildcard characters.
I use it daily because it is so helpful with word puzzles and games. Would it be possible to have proper nouns begin with a capital letter?
great for all sorts of puzzle solving! Any chance you could add Hangman mode?
Really nice app. Best crossword helper I've used. Nice interface (be sure to read about the numbers for the number of unknown missing letters), and anagrams too. Small, unobtrusive ads, and a really comprehensive word list. I never need to go anywhere else any more.
Absolutely brilliant app. Quick & user friendly. Several dictionaries or thesauruses to choose from, including a scrabble dictionary. Great for anagrams, crosswords, etc. I use it almost daily. Love it!
For those keen on Crosswords - particularly cryptic, this is an invaluable tool. I used tp wade my way through dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopaedia and other stuff looking for an elusive answer to a clue. These are now virtually redundant. What's more, I can do it from my armchair.... Mind you, I could do with the exercise.
This maybe the best way to help when stuck for an answer in so many different puzzles. Or when you need to prove a point. Great very easy to use with filters to limit the number of items in searches.
Very convenient to have access to a crossword solver without carrying around large books. The ads are quite unobtrusive as only on for a short time to check a word. Very very good.
preferred the previous version where space was used to separate words instead of now where the - has replaced space (and space does the same thing as a . character. mainly because the - is on the symbols screen on the keyboard apart from that small annoyance i use the app regularly
found and tested this, when my old solver stoped. so far no complaints adds are out the way. easy and clear to use gives a good range of words, easy to reset.words don't fail me (when using).
Really great. Straightforward and simple to use.
Great app, very handy especially for those tricky cryptic xwords.
Brilliant app, well designed and implemented. The designer has really thought about what should be included in a crossword solver and how the user will want to use it. It does its job perfectly. And works offline too.
Excellent, whether looking for obscure words or anagrams it does the job.
well thought out, useful app for everyday use - wouldn't be without it. clever use of numbers and symbols for substitution. all most as good as a dictionary - better if you don't want definitions, although they are accessible too.
This is an excellent app for anyone who enjoys crosswords. It has a much wider range of possible v word than other solvers - including some place names which can be really helpful.
Simple but effective. Extensive list of words. Works without internet connection, so great on the tube. Ads are small and unintrusive.
A comprehensive list of words, including proper nouns and compound words. Intuitive ways to enter the problem and to sort the results. I'm a long-term fan. Update: I have paid for the 'pro' version as a thank-you to the developer. I don't think a week goes by when I don't use the app. The adverts never were intrusive.
