Like an interactive time machine- I rarely write reviews but this app is exceptional. I have enjoyed many of the walking tours and discovered historical sites and monuments and historical markers in New York City, Chicago, Cleveland, and all throughout my home state of Ohio. This app is perfect for history lovers and also revealed hidden gems like museums.
I've been able to use this app as a consumer and as an educator--my students can see their research skills put to use when they create and add entries to Clio. I have found the app easy to use in both instances.
This app is highly recommended for history buffs. It guides you to your local town historic sites and markers and gives an in-depth history lesson. I've gained knowledge about historic buildings and statues that are relevant around my hometown.
So handy and fun. Downloaded this app on a Arkansas vacation. Learning things about my own home area too now!

This is the best travel app for anyone who loves history. Instead of just directing you to top tourist attractions, it helps you to find off the beaten path sites that nevertheless played a significant role in local history, and gives you the in-depth story behind each site as well as details you need to know if you plan to visit.

This makes history come alive in so many ways. I've taught history at the high school and college level for years and have been looking for something like this for quite some time--so much good information and I love that there is the option for creating new locations and taking walking tours. Outstanding!
This app is awesome!! My husband and I were traveling through some small towns back country towns. We turned on our clio app and it turned out that we were only a few miles away from THE Emmitt Till grave!!!! How cool? I will be telling my friends about this app.
One of the most unique apps around. Entertaining and educational. It's so fun to see how many places you walk by daily are full of histoty -- places you'd otherwise walk by without giving it a second thought. Makes you realize just how connected we are to the generations that preceded us.
Does not pick up historical markers I just passed. Search is terrible.
Loved using this in Chicago--best part was the ability to hand it to my son and have HIM tell me the history of buildings. He was so proud that I don't think he believed he was being tricked into learning.

I would love using this app if I traveled half as much as I used to. At first it was a little annoying to use, but I soon got the hang of it. I used to desktop version before using the app. The app is more user friendly. I would probably get use out of it once a month.
This app is great for quickly accessing historical facts about different places. It also offers helpful links to other websites for additional information.
I downloaded this for an upcoming vacation to NYC and it made me the most educated tourist in the city. Its fun for road trips as well as learning more about your own town.

Clio is a phenomenal tool for in-person and virtual travel. In the midst of COVID-19, it has provided an immersive experience that puts the user in the location they've chosen to explore; I feel as though I've personally visited so many places I've never stepped foot in. For the places I have traveled to, the app has given me new ideas of what to check out, and the walking and driving tours make it easy to follow a map. This app would be great for classrooms and educational institutions.
