Recent updates have spoiled what was a good app. I have 3 significant gripes: It frequently, while I'm reading, jumps back 20 or 30 pages for no apparent reason. When moving to the next page I am often presented with a blank white screen and need to go back and forth to get the text to reappear. The sort feature in search lists does nothing, no matter which criterion is chosen. I contacted the developer some time ago about this issue but have had no response. Very disappointed.

I love the app and having access to so many books from my phone. However it does have some glitches, for example certain books won't let me turn pages by a simple tap but I'll have to scroll through and this sometimes skips pages. It gets annoying but I can still read the book.

Frustrating. Bookmarks don't appear to work. It always opens at chapter three now, including all bookmarks. A lot of fiddling to get usable font settings. No setable delay for screen saver. Easy to accidentally advance to next page. Sometimes will not advance to last partial page in chapter. 04 Apr 22 The more I use this app, the more I hate it. Page number randomly stops updating / gets stuck and does not increment.

I just installed the app last night. Happy to have the option to have the library books checked out from home and read them on the go. However, it just loads random pages like one out of ten. Did everything like installing on other devices, restart, changing all the options one by one, still not working. Disappointed!

Over the years since I first used it, the app has become better, for example, offering more audiobook speed of reading choices. However, recently searching on "author" and specifically "lewis, michael" the results included "Bowden, Daniel", "Quinn, Alice", "Foster, Alan", "Rogers, Chuck", and so on. 4-2022 update: I really hate this app; too bad that my library requires it. I always bookmark any stop point since it is so easy to accidently touch a TOC entry and gain or lose hours of listening.

The app uses almost 4 gigs of storage! I like the app, even with it's faults such as never remembering where you left off in an audiobook, or not knowing its own database when you search. I would give it more stars if it wasn't such a greedy glutton for space. My next biggest app uses 1/2 a gig, most apps use 120-150 mb or less. As much as I like the convenience of cloudLibrary, not having available storage space on my phone makes it malfunction. Sadly, this app may have to go.

it doesn't always let me check out books. sometimes it says there is an issue with my card when there isn't and others it just doesn't work. some error on their end. other than that, it's pretty good. wish I could sync it with my Kindle app...

enjoy the app but wish the search parameters could allow you to narrow to more specific choices. too broad categories. UPDATED REVIEW. the app has been terrible. Go to the library and have books on hold for 21 days. App then says they are available for download but never shows the download button goes to error and then I have to wait 28 days for them to be available. This has happened twice. I submitted the problem both times no response.

Cont from previous review, docked a star since yesterday-there is no support, help, or contact if you have probs. It only tells you how to contact ur library and they have 0 to do with help, changes, or advice re the app. Mine doesn't even have a way to contact. You can't reverse updates to fix. They don't respond to probs listed here. But they get releases faster and a little more than apps I prefer so..vicious tradeoff

Never used an app like this before so can't compare — the content is great but the UI needs work. I've found several works that don't show up in a search at all, you just have to stumble upon them browsing the catalog. The process for browsing is clunky and buggy. I would appreciate more settings options — dark mode, improved hold notifications etc but most of all, a better catalog expérience & the ability to search/sort your saved items.

No brightness adjustment option! I love to read just before I sleep, so I usually turn off the light and put the phone screen brightness to lowest setting. I read for about half an hour this way and I never have a problem with other apps. But when I try to read with cloudLibrary, it automatically increases the brightness too high and it hurts my eyes. It should either let the user choose brightness level, or it should account for ambient lighting before it automatically adjust brightness. ____Edit____ I recently came back to reading my local library books on cloudLibrary and got a pleasant surprise. The app now uses the default brightness of my device and it solves the issue I had. I am updating my app rating to a 5*.

Dropping a star. I don't have issues with bookmarks anymore, which is good. But, many books still keep disappearing from my save list without notice. I can sometimes find them again if I search for it (if I remember all the books that disappeared). This still hasn't been resolved from a year ago when I brought it up. Also, my notification is on for books on hold, but I am not receiving any lately and have missed out on my turn because of this. Very frustrating. Please fix.

I've enjoyed this app but it crashed on Friday in the midst of an excellent book and I haven't been able to log in since. I'm also experiencing the issue where the app closes the first time I click on it and then goes to bookshelf instead of the book I'm reading. Changing pages is difficult when tapping and generally does nothing or takes me back. It would be great if this was fixed.

I do very much appreciate the accessibility of the online library. But I cannot find a way to reliably get back to my place in my book. It always resets, and I can't use the bookmarks to get back. So every time I try to read, I have to sit there scrolling for 100+ pages to get back, and sometimes it messes up from all the tapping and I have to start scrolling all over again. It's just very discouraging.

This app crashes on the first open every time. When it does open it starts back at my bookshelf rather than straight to my book which I'm very clearly in the middle of reading. Also I have to hit a tiny sweet spot to flip to the next page or it thinks I just want to highlight a word for some reason. Would love my local library to switch to another book reading app.

The app will sometimes put you back to the beginning of the book when listening, which is annoying. When searching for a book the app will show you anything related to the topic rather than putting the more relevant books to the top and it's not clear if it's abridged or not. It will not maintain your position depending if you switch the device or when you renew your book.

No issues with the app until the last update. My tablet is set for the screen to go to sleep at 5 mins(not the tablet), and when I am listening to an audiobookand the screen goes off the book doesn't just stop working but loses its place as well. It never did this before. Also if I minimise the app it will stop and lose its place. It will randomly highlight words and then I can't undo it. When listening to a book I have to have it open at all times and use the bookmark feature regularly.

Maybe I'm spoiled by the Kindle app and by the free Adobe products, but this app definitely lacks features. The inability to smoothly scroll through the entire text is quite frustrating, but the weird way it handled odd pagination on my Chromebook is especially annoying. It definitely makes for a Simonides reading experience, but the tool is still basically functional.

Good app for reading books from the library. It works fine and there isn't much to it. However I do wish it would sink to your furthest page read. Also the bookmarks tab can be glitchy and send you to different areas of the book.

Techs at library know about issue. Still having same issue only worse 2yrs & 1/2yrs later. Still can't even enter the country of origin--> Very first question. I WANT to be able to check out books online through the library but not able. Guess I need to buy a cd player.

Frustrating. I've logged in expecting to be able to access books and particularly newspapers and magazines, which is what I am interested in using. Once the download process is completed, there is no guidance on how to proceed with the above. There's a row of emblems which are of no interest nor use to me in connection to the task in hand. Multiple people making good money out of a product that is totally unintuitive and the majority of people who try to use it will give up out of frustration.

I have this app on 3 different devices. I works well on all 3. The trouble is it doesn't sync between devices. So when I change devices I have to go search for my place in the book. That makes it a huge pain to use.

I continually have an issue where pages in my book show up blank and I can no longer turn pages to read. I've tried uninstalling, etc, but to no avail. Very disappointing when you just want to read!!!

This app worked great, until an update. We checked out weelly books tonread to my kid. Then an update came in and we no longer can read any books. The app makes the phone hot. Then yhe pages go completely blank. This was not happening before. They could address this with another update.

It won't close. This app persistently opens itself even after being gorce stopped ever since I got a new cell phone. Hard to find support too. I appreciate the convenience of a cloud library but this app has a lot ofvroom for improvement.
