my university requires this to connect to wifi. Unintuitive, slow, and frustrating process to set up wi-fi (and had to re-start from 2FA log-in upon any errrors). Needed internet (i.e. Used data) not only to download this app, but also to re-connect to the wi-fi every time (and wi-fi stopped connecting when I tried uninstalling app after setting up wi-fi successfully). Even once successfully connected to wi-fi, app gave an error message about failing to connect.
This is a horrible program implemented on my school wifi. The app requires you to download a separate package each time I come to school, takes forever to connect to a completely different network then the one used to download the package and doesn't work half the time. The system feels old and vulnerable when using and even Google chrome recognizes it so. Only certain webpages will lead to the package download and there's no sign in for the wifi. Please fix or don't use
I don't understand why this is still in use - it takes at least 3 to 4 tries to be successful...one time I connected to another network and I had to sign up all over again just to connect (which needed my phone data to sign up because why not). Extremely unintuitive and requires so many different things just to get access.
Never once been able to connect to university wifi on a newer android phone with both automatic and manual setups as instructed by cloudpath. App not been updated to fix persistent issues for nearly two years now.
Bad user interface. There is no functional option for support in the app, and the only feedback you can give is that the connection was a success- although it rarely is.
If you can, avoid downloading this app. The app is poorly built and crashes often. It takes a while to connect too. The concept of the app is great but the implementation is terrible.
terrible experience for the user UI. Impossible to connect. this is basically an attempt for the university to collect more user metadata and provide "additional security" to the wifi network
I used the app about a month ago to connect to my university's WiFi. I'm on Android and haven't had any issues so far. It's nice that you can uninstall it after it configures your device.
Tons of security flaws. Wonder why Valparaiso University uses it. However, the network speed is good. I'd chose speed over anything. I wish the app for Android phones would be improved.
No way to import config files, terrible documentation and help. Ended up manually doing my network settings, which ended up taking less time than fussing with this terrible app. Also, awful font.
The app is janky and inconsistent. Unfortunately it's needed for the mission. To be honest Ruckus has been nothing but pain since it was installed. It'll be a blessing once we move off this platform.
This application is another vector for someone to get an important username and password just so that it can configure the Wi-Fi. This alone is not it's fatal flaw. The fatal flaw is that it probably won't work. This seems to be the vast majority of the user experience as well
Horrible. These security measures won't actually keep out people dedicated to getting into a network and ruining it. It simply inconveniences everyone else. It is the definition of superfluous.
Required internet connection to atrempt to connect to a local wireless for university and it is an uneccessary obfuscation to just id and password login thru normal WPA2 protocol. Doesnt even work at that, I connect to the damn wifi but no internet
What in the actual hell is this vile amalgamation of poor code and disreputable security practices? This is legitimately one of the sketchiest apps I've ever had the displeasure of having to install on a mobile device. And after it failed to even perform its one simple job - connect to a network - I was left uninstalling this putrid package; meaning my poor phone has suffered through this ordeal for nothing. Thanks, Ruckus Cloudpath, an Arris Company (What the hell kind of app name is that, seriously? Get outta hea.)
Completely useless and non-functional, just closes as soon as it opens, with a variety or error messages given on my flagship, most recent update, device.
This app is functional, but that's about all that can be said about it. Poorly designed UI makes any small problem signing in become a huge hassle.
Works about 25 % of the time. Doesn't remember my phone. Annoying way to have to access the network everyday at eork.
It seems like this app rolls a pair of dice and only works if it comes up snake eyes. The error messages you get otherwise are not helpful
It wont let me connect to my schools internet b/c of a bug. It had been like this for a year and they havent fixed it :/
Two of my institutions use this app. On both of them it is slightly different but nearly impossible to read. One it's white text on a white background and the other pale yellow. Why?
That's how it worked for me: 1. I opened the guest Network but only to get the first page. Switch WiFi off 2. Then I used my phone's Network to install the Network. 3. Don't open the app when you download 4. It asks for WiFi activation and you press ok.
No support for newer versions of Android, and just horribly unintuitive simply doesn't work a majority of the time.
Can't locate the netconfig file. I have the file downloaded but the app doesnt tell me where to put it upon failure. In fact, you have to look at the output log in order to even see the error. Was this app a high school project?
the app works to connect to university wifi, but a previous version allowed you to uninstall the app and still connect to wifi. what happened to this feature?
While the concept is good, implementation is nightmarishly poor. It crashes often, it claims a successful connection after the network drops you, and it requires you to resubmit the whole process rather than just the access request. There's no direct control of the app, you just have to hope it succeeds. Poor functionality renders this otherwise good idea into a mess so bad that, to date, it's the only app to actively infuriate me.
