Wasn't really sure how the app and the experience together would be, but it was very fun and challenging, not to mention an interesting dive into Real Life Clue (Cluedo). The stories, audio and questions were very fun and engaging. The app did have some connection problems, which logged us out or stopped the app. If you reset it and restart it is fine, but if you want to stay immerged, this takes you out. Otherwise, really loved playing, but wished there was more interaction with other groups.

it was a fun time exploring the city with friends and solving the mystery. The clues were very straight forward and ultimately you're supposed to play it more like a logic puzzle and less like a mystery novel. my biggest issue was with the app itself. The developers use generic modern clip art images as "pictures" of these 1920's characters. Is it really that far out of your budget to hire an artist to do some illustrations for you? Cut the useless video clues if you have to.

Game is fun and clues are great. The app interface is a bit confusing at times and the GPS integration leaves a lot to be desired consistently not working even on new pho es with all the settings based on their recommendations. you end up walking up and down the street like a crazy person until it finally suddenly works. other than that it is a fun game.

The game is really a lot of fun and we enjoyed most of it. The App however is really bad. The UX is OKish and the Geofencing also works quite well. But the developers obviously have no clue (haha) how to build a cloud-based app that syncs across multiple clients. Our game leader's app stopped working (could not sync) out of the blue. After trying to get it syncing again for 15 minutes we had no choice but to lose some of our progress and make someone else leader.

We played their Sneaky Finders scenario in Pittsburgh and had a great time! I was the only local in my team, but the game brought me to a very neat part of the city that I hadn't seen before. Dressing up isn't necessary but it made everything that much better, and it was really fun taking team photos. I definitely recommend finding a team and solving a mystery with your friends! We're already looking to do it again. Easy to catch on and the clues are easy enough that children won't be left out.

The concept of the game this app goes with is great, but the app itself is super buggy. Not even 5 minutes in and my GPS wasn't being read despite following the instructions including high accuracy mode. It also frequently failed to pop up witnesses or bonus when we were standing right on top of it. I'm not sure how they picked the area to play in (Edmonton) but it was a giant construction site, with one if the witnesses in a restricted area. All that said I'd do it again.

Very disappointing! Having played a few of these app based games before (HiddenCity etc.) I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, there was no guesswork involved, just ticking boxes until you ran out of suspects/patience. It was poorly devised and poorly executed, the search area was so small and the game operated over such a small time frame that all the groups eventually merged into a mob swarming through the narrow streets of Greenwich. The app works well but the game doesn't, avoid!

It was definitely a lot of fun playing but the app has some issues. My team had it solved from the beginning but it said we were wrong. So we racked up time penalties using hints and trying any other solution. We finally went back after adding 6.5 hours to our time and tried the solution again to find out we were right the whole time. Frustrating. Still fun though.

This was a fun event running around downtown to get all the clues for sure! The constant icon in my notification bar even after completing the game was irritating so I uninstalled it. I really enjoyed the puzzles that tied into things in real life and wish there weren't any run of the mill riddles. Honestly you can just Google any old riddle. 🤷‍♀️ I also think it would have been better if penalties were spelled out in exact minutes before the game in a more detailed tutorial.

Fun time, decent app, still a few bugs. Our team leader had the GPS functionality go AWOL during a runaway witness, which forced us to take the penalty, despite being in the correct position. The main navigation is a little klunky switching between the various functions. And the leaderboard falls over completely over a few hundred teams (probably a poorly optimized backend service or memory hog rendered in the app itself). Otherwise, the app was usable and did not detract from a fun afternoon.

Had a great day in Oxford playing this. Couldn't hear the videos in general city hubbub, but this didn't stop the fun. App quite glitchy & lost GPS a lot. Wish could pause game for lunch & loo trips. We had several children with us so no way we could be fastest! Story much simpler than expected. We over-complicated our deductions at first, & had to adjust. Witness questions & hints not helpful at all but we still got the right answer. Would certainly play another one. Clever idea.

We had a great time playing! There are some glitches in the app with the GPS. We had to close out the app a few times and resume the game, which was annoying. The Informant info is not super helpful. One informant actually led us away from the correct answer. All in all, it's a great concept and we had fun playing. Can't wait to do it again!

Fantastic game, played Sneaky Finders in Leeds, May 2019, also played in St Albans 18 months ago. Really well put together games. App is easy to use, loved the features, such as the warnings that GPS might be inaccurate in built up areas (which is a limitation of GPS itself). Linking friends feature is excellent, I was so pleased to not have everyone crowding around my phone. Well done CluedUpp, you have a first-rate game here!

love love love this game! played once, but would totally play again if it came to town! it's clue meets real life... but digital! ever seen the clue movie? well.. get your walking shoes on because this is a bit like them running from room to room at the end when they show all the scenarios of what could happen. great way to explore your city, and learn fun facts along the way! perfect for the whole family too!! well done!

We had an absolute BLAST!!!! We will definitely be signing up for the August event as well! I will have to agree w/ previous reviews; we too had several issues w/ the app, thus 4 stars. But, time spent together laughing, enjoying beautiful weather, stopping at local shops along the way (we werent trying to win), & being humbly reminded (walking the city instead of quickly driving by) of how beautiful downtown WS is, made it well worth it. I love you include landmarks of our actual city!!!

App was great & the game was easy to start, but I wish the intro video came as a notification in the app when we clicked start. Finding witnesses- straightforward and I enjoyed the riddles needed to access them. The videos looked cool but ultimately we went with reading transcripts because it was too noisy outside. What we didn't like: asking witness questions was useless. Every one got us "no" or "I don't know". Agree with another comment-treat this game like a logic puzzle. Then it's fun!

Very poor positioning on the maps. Spent ages trying to get the app to register my position. When all the clues were collected, we ended up having to make multiple guesses to get the solution. The answer made no sense and there were so many plots holes, there was no way to get the right answer first time. After spending hours in the cold and the rain, I'm really disappointed. Infuriating!

What unexpected fun... we had no idea what to expect with this game but we were not disappointed... apart from the excuse to dress in fancy dress it wad really fun. The mini games were harder than we thought making it more of a challenge... the main game was just the right level of hard... my team and I were looking for extra storylines but when we just followed the game it became clear and we won... would defo play again!

This was our first time doing a Clued Upp game as we joined Sneaky Finders in Hull. We went all out and got dressed up and it was great fun passing everyone else who'd done the same! Lots of people stopped to talk to us on the way too. It's a realy fun way to see parts of a city you wouldn't normally ! The app itself is well made and worked effortlessly on all our phones, and the story was well developed and presented. We'll definitely do another.

Really enjoyed the story which well written and well thought out. The app itself has a lot of bugs which needs sorted. The GPS kept dropping out despite the phone having a strong network signal and the team members phones did not update regularly enough, which significantly affected the game play.

We were very disappointed in this. The mystery was simple process of elimination... no deductions of any kind were required, simply crossing off each alibied suspect until only one remained. The game made a big deal about features like asking witness questions and sending out informants, but these appeared to be totally useless... they never gave us more information than the initial statement, and all the statements combined made it automatic to solve the mystery. Very dull and also very buggy.
