CM Browser - Fast & Light

I used to LOVE this app. It used to be easy to use, and the focus on privacy was truly welcome. Then Cheetah added an "upgrade" that freezes all the controls on the page just a few seconds after a new page loads. It's very annoying! In order to open scripts on the page, so that you can interact with the options provided, you have to touch the floating box of grey translucent lines over and over again. If this situation does not improve quite soon, I'm going to get rid of this browser and install another one!

Pretty good browser, does block ads well. The bookmarks leave a bit to be desired. There is no option for where the bookmark goes when you bookmark a page, so when I bookmark a page, I have to go into the bookmark menu and move it to the folder for it. It gets a little annoying, but the other great features outweigh this one flaw. Thanks for the great, free browser!

Some features of this browser are quite good--so much so that I wish I could rate it higher. Privacy/ad-blocking features are excellent. A minor issue is that the browser (ironically) frequently opens with an ad. This can be skipped without difficulty, but still. The primary annoyance, however, is the absolute incapability to adjust settings so that it automatically opens to the last session's tabs. Turning on that setting does nothing. This is enough of an issue that I can give only 2 stars.

When browser crashes from any reason, there is a high chance of losing all your tabs. Even history will not help you. It's a good browser overall, and I still like it. It's just you'll need to stick with 1 or 2 tabs at all times. Unfortunately I can't find a solution for restoring them. PS: With an update I was hoping to see any positive changes, but I did not expect them to add an advertisements into the app itself. I understand why, but I was using this browser to avoid any ads in the first place. I used this app for quiet a while now, and it was a good run. Unfortunately it's time for me to switch. I do hope to see this app improve overtime, good luck.

This is a really good browser. I'm so used to Chrome that I wanted to try something else. The security is great, I forgot I set it and couldn't figure out why it kept crashing (it wasn't crashing, I just forgot how to escape the screen and open an app, Lol) So I now have a great way to keep nosy ppl off my phone and out of my private stuff. I like the extras like night mode, etc. And the ads aren't a big deal, they come up After yr done with that screen so they don't interrupt you.

I liked it at first but I soon came to dislike it. I personally read manga on it so I like the block pop up feature. If not for that and because I love firefox this app would be uninstalled. Its slow, glitchy, and very complicated. Im on t-mobile so maybe that's it but its bad. I go to another app, come back, and it will make a new tab...WHY?! I clearly want to go to the previous tab i was on, not a new one. You can't even turn this feature off! Sometimes the page refreshes randomly or it glitches black or the screen freezes where you're supposed to go to the next page but only the loading bar has progressed. If this was like twice a week or even once a day I would be cool about it but IT'S EVERY FIVE MINUTES!!! The only way to fix it is to close the app and reopen it. Sometimes it's reopen and I get the other problem immediately. So it's a continuous repeat of luck! I'm getting distressed so much that I'm leaving this comment. Please fix these problems so that I may better enjoy my day. Thank you for reading.

This was definitely my favorite browser, lightweight and the least intrusive there is, pretty intuitive too! Only four stars because sometimes when you try to download pics, it only does it as .Bin and your phone doesn't know what to do with it. So then you have to use another browser for it. If they fix this, easily a five-star app, and the best ribs are out there!

I love how this app has a screen lock function whch is great for when watching videos, so you don't accidentally touch a link and leave the current page, however, a major flaw for me is it doesn't let you play videos in the background with the tab minimized, like some other browsers do. I also love how it lets you take screenshots in incognito mode, which Chrome doesn't, and that it is visually obvious its in incognito mode. Also the desktop mode isn't recognized by some pages.

I am using it as a replacement for chrome on my custom rom. It is really fast though not as fast as chrome. The adblocking feature and video download option are unique and extremely useful. Hope that app will get frequent and meaningful updates. Request is to make the in built download manager bit more powerful and versatile in handling different files from various sources. Edit: The ads are displayed on the homepage which is irritating and I will be uninstallling soon. Very bad to see ads within the browser. Thumbs down

Used to be my favourite browser, but it's buggy recently. Around 30% of the time, the page doesn't load, just blank. Then have to go back and relaunch or click link again. Never happened in the past. Seems to be the past 4 months. Also this app doesn't support multiple homepage bookmarks any more. Need to lift your game, CM! It's a great platform, but too buggy. I'm thinking of going back to an older version just to get back the old trouble-free experience.

Nice browser, great for private stuff. Only issue which I had multiple times, was when I let multiple tabs stay open, after a while they were closed automatically, but they did stay in browser history. Please fix that. I want to keep those tabs open at all times, even when not using the browser, also even when clearing the browser from recent apps. Google Chrome browser keeps all tabs open, even when closing the app, and when clearing the app from recent apps on my phone.

Have been using this app for at least 5 years, used to be the best. Now has the issues others are talking about. Crashes constantly and have to force stop. Also the ad I have to skip most times just to browse is ridiculous. It never used to be this way, this app was the best. Now it's a mess, fix the app. I don't want to use the Google app, it's not intuitive.

Been using this for over a year now and recently it's adblocker has stopped working on YouTube. There's still bloody annoying ads before every video you watch. Also, in this browser, the fullscreen button in YouTube is frozen and doesn't work when you're trying to switch to fullscreen. You need to turn on screen rotation to get it into fullscreen. CM browser crashes when you've been using it too long. Uninstalling.

The browser is so buggy now, it seems. I can not get my tabs to stay open for when I reopen the browser. If I close the browser app, I have to reopen all my tabs. I know there is a setting for this but it still keeps doing it. Now I'm having issues with my accounts staying logged in even when I check the "stay logged in box". This browser used to be awesome. It functioned just like a desktop, which I loved. I also have to switch between desktop mode and mobile when typing in Google search.

Favourite browser, and I've tried a few. Not perfect, and I've had to roll back to an older version to avoid some of the "new improvements". Ad blocking works well and video downloader grabs most things. I don't know if it's CM Browser or SwiftKey, but I get double letters when typing into the URL bar. Annoying.

I've been trying probably all of the Android browsers out there, and so far, nothing beats my choice of CM Browser. It meets what I need, built-in adblocks, video catcher-downloader, fast, stable, and most importantly, light. There are more lightweight browser but doesn't give the same experience. Been using it for almost 4 years now. It would be great if developer improve the PC one too so we could synchronize the bookmarks :)

Pretty good for the most part, don't like the home page and the fact that whe you close all non-incognito tabs, a new home page opens. It appears to request more reviews even after you have rated the current up-to-date version. But once you choose to not work the history after every exit off the all it does not prompt you again.

Great but a little unstable This has become my favorite browser, due to its speed, adblocking and especially its great method of navigating multiple tabs. However, it can be unstable with multiple tabs. They will often freeze and can only be used if you close and reopen them. It's not a major issue but can be inconvenient.

Well the browser is have a very good ads blocker, also the feature is nice too. But my problem is , when i am download some music or apps , the speed of downloading files is very slow. Even though , i used a WiFi with full connection, it still very slow . So can you guys fix it? It will be very nice. Thank you.

There's ads on the home page despite the app being an ad blocker browser. In recent months, I would say that the quality of the apl has decreased as there has been a steady increase of ads NOT blocked on webpages Ive browsed. Additionally, when I first started using the app, they would remove the ad and condense the space where it was which made the site more seemless. Now, there are often blank large boxes reminding me that there is an ad there that I can't see. That's just as annoying.

The app is one of the best browsers but there are a few glitches to it. One I like to use dark mode to go easy on my eyes but when I use dark mode I cannot see the images on Google images so that's quite annoying. Another problem is that I switch to browser mode to get an easier look for Google or some websites but when I Google search I cannot type a new search and have to open a new tab and it gets quite annoying so I hope it get fixed soon. Video detection and pop up ads can also be fixed.

all the required features are available in this browser. i find it very useful and especially the way we can customise our browsing experience i.e. the accessibility given is very good. it has ad blocker but shows its own ads but that is only fair because that's how they earn and the ads do not disturb our browsing and blocking all the ads to show very very few of its own is a fair deal.

I would have rated the browser higher, but every time I download anything picture, video etc, I can't open it directly from the browser, except I open it from the main folder. It keeps saying "can't open, file is unusable". The developers you should do something about this. Secondly, CM browser doesn't return to the last page I visited when the browser closes unexpectedly. I selected "remember my last page" or something like that in the settings, but it still doesn't work.

Used to work great but now it's absolutely horrid. Pages seem to load but half the links on the page don't work. Several sites load and then freeze forcing you to refresh. Refreshing doesn't help though, it just brings the page back up with the same issue. Tried a different browser and everything worked fine. This was my favorite browser but now it's deletable and trash.

I have been using this app for several years now, two things that I have noticed that are no longer active or functional are; the option to be able to pause & resume downloads, the other is not being able to create a shortcut on my home screen. Once the app developers resolve this issue, CM Browser will be all 5 stars in my book. Until then this version of the app is a shadow of its self.

Great browser, but since the last update (I think), some video playback has been an issue. Perhaps it's a Flash thing, I'm not sure. Most videos play fine, but the video won't maximize unless you 1) tap maximize and then 2) rotate your device. The broken playback on some video types is more of a problem [for me]. And maybe this is more of a feature request, but perhaps add HTML format for bookmark exports instead of just .db files. Keep up the good work!

Lately the app keeps crashing, and then all my tabs are gone 😭 The adblock feature has always been great, but there are times that a website won't work (maybe because of the adblock?) and I have to open the web page in another browser - more frequently than is practical. Excited for these bugs to be fixed! Thanks in advance!
