I've used security master for several years, but this latest version is so intrusive with the pop-up ads that browsing a single page is almost impossible. I've just closed out 7 republicans/trump ads within 15 minutes. I want nothing to do with that and will be uninstalling. Last straw for me. Very disappointed. This really is a great security app, but they crossed the line.
It's good at cleaning and detecting possible security issues. I love that it locks all my apps. Not in love with all the ads or how long it takes to skip them. By the time you wait or skip through two ads you forget what app you were accessing lol the x in the corner is soo tiny sometimes you just have to close the whole screen. Every time you unlock an app your bombarded with ads. Extremely inconvenient for people pressed for time and need to do a quick check or reply back.
The ads and this app just takes control of my phone, everything just started popping up and covering up whatever it is you need to do. Very distracting app. instead of just working in the background, it pushes you to purchase or go for their paid products. Damn I didn't even have the chance to see what's in the app when everything just started popping up! Didn't take me 5 minutes to decide on removing the app regardless of how good the app may be, I just don't effing care at that point.
Your notification blocker isn't working properly. when you click on something it will not open it! I didn't want to send the notifications into oblivion to never be opened again! This has been going on for a few weeks. Please fix this! edit: I've submitted this issue via feedback. now my call blocking feature is missing too! also submitted that! what in the world is going on with this app?!?! uninstalling because you're ignoring these issues! and you're just going to ignore the other issues???
Not sure if it really worked hard since the scans would take no time and hardly came up with any bad reports. App lock and disguise work, however without the lock, adds appear at random times. These ads persisted after uninstalling the app. Ads are okay for free apps, however the ads should leave with the app. Plus, I'm sure there are plenty more advanced security/antivirus apps out there for free. Edit: Now app lock isn't even free and that does change my complaint. I couldn't fix the problem.
This app is constantly telling me my phone is overheating when it is stone cold and hasn't been on. I would like that to stop. If it really is overheating, I'm glad to be notified, but when it isn't it's annoying. The issue may be that many apps are running and using resources that slow other apps/ processes, that's a different issue. Other than that, I've gotten used to ignoring the ads. It's a good app as far as I'm concerned.
For the last few weeks I've swiped my screen to open my phone and there's a screen that says Security Master has automatically scanned my phone. When I touch "got it" it takes me to an ad. When I try to "X" the ad it won't let me out right away. Even the home button won't get me free. Very inconvenient when I'm trying to get to an important notification. I just missed an important call because I couldn't get out of Security Master's automatic scan. Last straw. This app just keeps getting worse.
It's an ok app, but of course you have the excessive amount of ads that everybody already mentioned; also I'd like to be able to lock/unlock all apps at once with one click (I'm not talking about "enter password once to unlock all the apps", you still have to go to each individual app to lock/unlock it). Also noticed some lag and overheating on my Note 8. Graphics and animations are cool but I prefer real results.
this app appeared to work well. based on what the app told me, it cleared up alot of my junk and notifications. however be ready for tons of it's own notifications and ads. I uninstalled after a few days since it was notifying me far more than what I had before, and everytime you use it, it pushes an ad or two on you. it also seems to be a slight drain on battery power. I reccomend it, but only if you dont mind constant advertising and notifications for you to use the app.
I considered this a decent app at first, but have come to dislike it. Boost is helpful. BUT, turning on "sceduled scan" is permanent (the off button doesnt actually switch it off). I tried the notification cleaner, but it ended up being less convenient than simply swiping the actual notifications away (plus it generates more ads). "Clean Junk" takes forever on my phone. And after any given operation there are between one and three (THREE!) pages of ads.
This app comes in handy when lots of other apps like to run constantly in the back round and take up resources. Security master tells you what's running and stops the apps from running in the back round. It even tells you what apps are making your device run hot. And it scans apps when you download them to wether there safe or not. Security master has a lot of other useful tools in it as well.
Disappointed by the call blocker being removed, but thankfully my phone also does that option. Love the app, have used for years, cleans and protects in real time, alerting you when an action should be done, but does not slow down or interrupt normal phone functions, even for older phones. Very reliable. Good with locking apps for safety. Ads aren't annoying and very easy to put up with to keep things free for users that want/need that option.
I have installed applock for a few apps in my phone. Everytime I open the app, I unlock the pattern and an ad appears, I cancel the ad and the lock pattern appears, I unlock it and again the ad appears. This goes on till I decide not to open the app anymore. Its extremely irritating so if you can fix it, great. Otherwise, there are other such apps in the playstore.
it dose a good job but I hate that it takes over my home screen and it runs all the time .it can be very annoying. some times I have to remove it then load it again the next day. security master works well most of the time. I really don't like it trying to take over my phone. also it covers the phone screen and I can't answer a phone call if they can fix that I'll reload it until then it is uninstalled
When I first had this (it was immediately on there) I wasn't getting the notified. Every time I thought there was something wrong, I had get off the app I was on, go to security master and check to see if any thing was wrong. This started to become anoying and so I deleted it. It's been a year, or less then one and I reinstalled it and it improved itself Due to the updates. If I didn't reinstall this, there would be something wrong with my phone. Some might disagree but I recommend to use this.
I like that it has security options for each individual app. I especially like the disguise feature & the look on a person's face when you show them their picture of them being nosey...busted!! Lol. Also the ability to unlock an app while using it versus having to go back thru the main app to change it. I've used it maybe 2 years so far.
To be completely honest with you this app is quite handy for security, and for free up ram but i had another idea on how this app could really be the best. One idea i had in mind was automatically clean up, this feature would allow the app to clean your device in the background it would be simple just set the time you want the app to clean. For example every 5mins, 10, 15, 1hour or 2hours. You will be able to set the exact time you prefer, this process would go on forever unless disabled.
I really appreciate the fact that security master is offering an overall protection to my devices for free, but the ads are so many and so invasive that I honestly, without exaggerations, very often forget why I clicked the app in the first place... It takes so long to go through the ads that I end up not bothering using it. Thank you.
at first i was like wow, keeps my phone running at optimum power, the the ads, then the notifications, and even when you x out of the game the app forces you to download, you can hear the game playing in the background. there's no place to turn it off. i have to physically turn my phone off so it can go away. I'll keep it for a week more, if it still does it, in out. ads are one thing, but continuous background user of my phone with no way to turn it off is a no for me.
