CNN Breaking US & World News

Decent app, interface is smooth and very legible. However, ads to watch live TV or even just 30 seconds blocks are just way too long, so long that I just never watch them and rely on reading. Also, everytime I select a category there's a noticeable split second delay which does get annoying. Have a Samsung S21+ so don't lack processing power, and fiber internet for wifi, or 5G, so not an internet problem

Back to France after 5 years in the US, the CNN App is a very good way to keep up with the US and the way Americans see what's happening in the world. Unfortunately, after 10 months of perfect use,, with no apparent reason (no change at all in my smartphone which is not old), today August 16, 2020 it stopped working (I get a message "unknown error" every time I try to open the app). Please, CNN IT guys, fix this!

Biased news, always with a pro-american or pro-democratic-party undertone to the point of being really annoying. Some news items aren't even news, but just raking up past events to make sure certain individuals are kept in a bad daylight. Also, when there's actually some interesting news, the articles tend to start with 4 paragraphs of tangential factoids before getting to the point, which I don't have the patience to read.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many commercials and commercial breaks! that's not a fault of the app, it's a fault of CNN's network format. (I love the app.) CNN covers 1 maybe 2 stories which, will take about 5-10 minutes; and then go to commercial break which, that is then 3-5 minutes -- and those commercial breaks are happening so frequently. It's so disruptive and, at a time right now when everybody around the world is so dependent on the news, it's really gross and disgusting!!

A nice app. I love CNN, so quite pleased with the app. 4 stars, because its mainly reading articles, and not so much video, witch surprised me. I have vision problems so lots of reading is not fun for me. Also the videos have a bit of a lag. Picture quality is good. Content on the US version is great. Getting alerts to Breaking News not shown on cable tv is truly awesome.

I wish they had a separate app for CNN+. It's difficult to tell which programs are on the normal CNN versus CCN+ especially if you don't subscribe to cable tv. Only a few live programs and hard to find them. They need more live programs for CNN+ and it would also be helpful if it had a little "TV guide" to go with it so you can scroll through and select from whats on currently or coming up. As it is now CNN+ is not very user friendly.

Everything is worse after the last app update. Broken links which lead to different articles (on the website, not the app!), much slower loading time (both the app itself and individual articles), all kinds of other, smaller issues. This is one of the worst "updates" I've experienced. I hope it will fixed soon. Very unpleasant.

The app works fine for showing free content and streaming the live channels when authorized through my cable provider. However, I can not access CNN+ through the app. The content is there, but it will not accept my CNN+ username and password, so I can not see the CNN+ content. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps on the web site, and it still tells me that my username/password are invalid. This happens both on the CNN app and when using the browser on my phone. I am using Android 10.

Having the same issue as several other Android phone users after adding CNN+ to the CNN app. Can only open the app through Chrome and it still doesn't come up correctly. Tried the app on my Android tablet and it works beautifully! Can't understand why it's not working on my phone. Contacted CNN and they said they're still working on glitches and would email with a "workaround". Not holding my breath. 😠😠😠

Adds adds adds are the goal of this app. I pay for cable and can log in online, similar adds to normal tv. This app takes the adds to a whole level. Its so many more adds than normal TV, im deleating the app. Will just stream through browser when needed. Oh, the radio broadcast, even more adds than the live video stream. Cnn should be ashamed with the amount of add gouging. Not to mention, the live video stream is now crashing constantly.

Hopefully the bugs have been solved in this last update. The app is more responsive than before, but the commercials continue to be a nuisance. The problem isn't the amount, but just the same 5 or 6 every break. I find myself turning the app off during the breaks. Can't take those commercials any more. 4 stars because of that.

App closes about half the time I try and stream the video. They recently updated the layout of the live stream. Either I'm completely missing it, which isn't the best UI, or they took away the feature of picture in picture. It was nice to have it on in the background on my phone while I did other things, but with the update, I can't figure out how to do it or it's gone. Not worth watch anymore.

A very good application. One issue, when listening in audio it suddenly will stop playing for some reason even though timer continues to go on. Control arrows seem to be frozen. To restart audio I need to go back to home page or topics page then hit audio again, audio will resume once again. For me it is a minor issue. I'm on a Pixel 6 phone. The way I go back is by swiping my phone left to right.

This app simply refuses to let me log into my CNN+ account. I can login through my browser with no problem, but when I go to login on the app I get "please enter a valid password" even though I literally copied and pasted the password from where I logged in perfectly fine on the website. It seems to be an issue with the app and it really needs to be fixed. I will update my review once that's done.

The video clips on CNN app spin and load forever and it's SO FRUSTRATING. it's been this way for several months now. It can take 30 seconds to load a 2-3 minute clip. Funny how the commercials always pay instantly.... And then mid video, every 5-7 seconds, it'll again freeze over and over for no joke 5-10 seconds... I spend more time watching a red spinning circle than i do watching the video clips. This is not an Internet issue either.... I can watch Netflix or anything else without any issues

I subscribed to CNN+ a few days ago which I can stream through my TV and iPad. When I tried to find the app in Google play store and all I could find was CNN app so I downloaded it. When I tapped the icon after it loaded the screen shows CNN domestic and CNN international so I tapped domestic and nothing happened. It seems there is no further step and cannot get into CNN. Right now this app is useless they need to issue a fix for this. I checked to see when it was last updated and showed 3/24

Frustrated by inability to progress from one story to the next without being taken back to homepage. Once I close a story I have opened I find I have to start from the beginning to be able to select the very next story.

CNN+.... there I was, naively thinking I was getting al a carte access to CNN, but no - "plus" means you can watch live CNN via the original app, IF you connect through your cable provider. Completely misleading advertising the entire time they plugged it. Sling is the cheapest way to get CNN w/o cable, and they don't participate.

This app doesn't work well and when I try to open some CNN plus content the video keeps loading and then the app freezes. I subscribed to the CNN plus trial because I wanted to try it, but if they don't fix the constant problems with the app I will cancel my trial. For the moment I give it one star.

I've used this for a long while but lately the video segments freeze after almost every sentence or two. It seems like it happened after the last update. I notice repetition of stories with reworked catchy titles, but not new context. I enjoys the app, but somedays seems like same old thing again.

It says "You are not authorized to view this content. Please contact your TV service provider." Well I did and they had no idea how to help. I have CNN with my cable (RCN / Astound). I've been using the CNN app to watch the broadcast for years and now this.

Can't get past first screen on Samsung Z Flip 3. On the first screen "select edition - US or International" the button to advance to the actual app is not visible on my phone and I can't get into the app. Works fine on my wife's Pixel 6 but not on my Flip. Also have Nvidia Shield TV and there is no CNN app available for Android TV so I have no way to try CNN+. I hope a developer can fix this.

Cannot get past initial screen selection of Domestic or International. Cleared Cache, cleared Data, restarted phone, took off wifi, Uninstaller and reinstalled multiple times. Still unable to get past initial screen. Unable to access CNN or CNN Plus, which I just joined. Frustrating that CNN plus would launch with such a defective App .

Why did you retrieve the long press menu with dictionary and translation? 😭 Copy and share still remain, but what about your readers worldwide??? It was the most useful feature in the app and other newspapers still have it on compatible devices. Please give us back the chance to understand your articles in every detail and nuances.

Horrible app, biased news, does not refresh widgets, too many bugs/lags/errors in-app. The news here is always biased in a particular direction to influence the viewer unfairly. News should be a direct representation of facts and not modified content, titles, headers to promote/push a certain kind of thought in a viewer's mind. I know I am 1 out of billions, and my opinion does not count, but still, I choose to put my point of view here to illustrate the catastrophic situation of CNN

CNN, please allow subscribers of SlingTV to view Live TV. We should be able to since we pay for it. Also, some users cannot progress beyond the "Domestic or International" screen. The "Next" button is off the screen. Users will need to change their font size to a smaller one in order to have it shown on their screen.

I waited so long for CNN+ ... I wish you didn't have to go. I like the information on the app, but I'm disappointed that I can no longer cast to my television from an Android, and that seems to have happened with the addition of CNN Plus. If I am now forced to only use this app on my phone, I might have to make an ergonomic choice to let it go.

The app worked great then suddenly didn't. It crashes after a few minutes of playing. It's happening on all of my mobile devices. It works fine on Roku so it has to be an android problem. Additionally, the ads are infuriating. There are 10 minutes of ads every 5 minutes.
