CNY Central

Most of the time when I tap on a news story from my notifications, it opens up the last story I was reading, and it's very hard to find the story I wanted to read about that was "breaking news" on my notifications. Please fix this bug. UPDATE: Just read other reviews. This has been happening for years, so must not be a priority for anyone to fix.

Overall positive, but, when I get a story link sent to me, I click on it, it rarely opens the story. Instead, I have to search for it, and often, it's not there, which is frustrating. If I really want to read the story, I hace to gran my laptop, go onto the website search and hopefully find the article.

After the constant pleads from CNY to install their app, I did. JUNK! Live feed will play ads every time you hit it. Ad completes and you get get blank screen! Numerous other bugs also. It's not my phone. Look at most reviews here - they're not good. Don't bother installing!

This app used to be decent. Now when I click on a news item, it repeatedly gives the message "Oops, something went wrong.". This has been the standard for a week. I'll try someone else's app.

Stupid waste of time. Want to watch the 11 o'clock News and all it does is play a few ads and then the We'll right back message comes on and nothing. Why offer something when you're not going to do it right? Stupid

I like the way stories are presented; that is the technology. Also, the quality of stories and priorities. Local events.

Disappointing. Very limited content. I'll just use a web browser on my tablet and go to the CNY Central website. Maybe make the content similar to that on their website.

Lazy reporting local news should be all about local issues. During times like this this page should be filled with local business owners being asked what they are doing to help and stay afloat.

The app is a battery and data hog.

This app is terrible. It never loads the right story from notifications, never shows story updates correctly and consistently crashes. Its just awful!... uninstalled.

Updated review but still only 3 stars because story images are obscured by headlines. Should be able to tap images to them without words over them. NEW PROBLEM: Whenever there is an updated push alert to a previous breaking news story, the alert takes you to the OLD (first) story, rather than the new story being advertised. For example, 1st alert is man shot, 2nd alert is victim name released... but if you tap that 2nd alert, it opens the 1st story, which is outdated and doesn't have the name. That's bad UX as it leaves the user to go looking for the newer version of the story (or, like I did for awhile, users might just assume the story was never really updated, and then switch apps to see what the other outlets in town are reporting).

The app takes forever to load stories and sometimes doesn't load them at all! This also occurs when I click on a breaking news notification. The story takes an awful long time to open and sometimes never opens at all. Please fix!

Good app. I wish I could customize the type of notifications I receive instead of it being all or nothing.

You get a link to a story, click on it and it opens a different story. Happens constantly, uninstalling.

Not bad. Glitchy sometimes when scrolling. The worst part is the abundance of typos in every single article. Learn to proofread before you post or at least go back and fix it later. It's maddening. Some of these articles seem to be written by toddlers.

I have the push notifications off but still get notifications all day long. Please fix it.

There were EIGHT advertisements for a solitare game with explicit images, just on the homepage. EIGHT. There is no reason for that. Uninstalled.
