Cobra iRadar Notifier

Alternative app for Cobra iRadar device. Unlike Cobra's own application this one is intended to be run in background, and provides visual and audible alerts for any radar signals received. It is geared heavily towards sight-free & hands-free operation (such as motorcycle use).
The app does require you to have Cobra iRadar device, and pair it with your phone before using!

Features include:

* multiple threats display, color-coded by signal strength and type
* audible alerts change pitch depending on signal strength
* spoken notifications on device connection, disconnection
* turns screen on for alerts
* alerts logging (with location and frequency data included)
* auto-learn false alerts (same location, same frequency multiple times
- location proximity and number of occurrences are configurable)
* disable alerts depending on vehicle speed
* no annoying ads

The application is beta-quality code. It works fine on my Moto X, but may not work so fine on yours. Please submit any bug reports and feature requests at https://github.com/rootkit007/cobra-iradar-notifier/issues. I would really appreciate users help in testing alpha versions, translations, programming work or any feedback! There will be new features added such as speed limit lookup, silencing alerts if under speed limit, excluding certain radar frequencies
- if interested in beta testing please join Google+ beta testers community at https://plus.google.com/communities/114258521326691159905

Currently known issues:

* fake alert autolearn is flaky
* intermittently will not turn volume up for alerts
* scanning/connected ongoing notifications dont always show up/go away as intended (does not seem to affect the functionality)
* activity detection (driving, walking etc) may not work on all devices
- this is a hardware limitation
* only English language supported

Note that app does not modify iRadar device settings in any way. This means that you will have to configure the device first (enable/disable radar bands etc) using the official Cobra iRadar app.

This app is in no way endorsed by, or related to Cobra Systems.

Gotta drop it to a 1 star, doesn't work with Android 6 Marshmallow (Nexus 6P) at all, I think because it needs the new permissions structure for drawing over other apps. - PREVIOUS REVIEW - Fantastic IDEA, but the app has been abandoned. Had to use an APK Downloader app to even download it to my device (LG G3) but works great on the Verizon LG G3. THIS IS A OPEN SOURCE APP, SOMEONE ELSE GET THE CODE AND GO TO WORK!

Was excited to use but just doesn't work with my model I guess. It connects and notifications are on but nothing happens when I get a band

This app works better as a background function than Cobra's iRadar version. The small band overlay works great (does not take over your screen like Cobra's version) and it provides very distinctive sounds that identify the type of radar. I use it on an LG tablet I am waiting (hoping) for a Samsung Note 4 version.

I just did a 4500 km travel with my motorbike and tested thoroughly this app with the Cobra iRad 900 and it worked at the best. Waze is a must while driving and having this jewel working in the background make me feel confident. Always present when needed. Warnings flashed instantly as visual and as sound. Phones used Galaxy G7000 and Galaxy Alpha. To put it to work forze stop iRadar from Cobra and let Notifier autostart. Thank's sons for the app !
