Codewords (Crosswords)

Love the game. It is one of my favourite puzzles. The ads aren't too intrusive either. My biggest issue is that I would like to buy the rest of the puzzles and turn off ads but there is no way to see the price before starting the payment sequence and I am not willing to do that without seeing the price first.

Game is easy to navigate and has an easy mode and a difficult mode. I've tried crossword puzzles many time and always end up quitting because of one or two words which I cannot find. This game gives you choices in the form of "letter" hints all over the board, which help in solving the puzzle❗It's not too easy, but it's not too difficult for anyone ❗And, it does have a difficult mode, for those who want more challange.

The ads aren't a problem because they're not even videos, and the vast majority of the game's just codeword puzzles, like the title suggests. Not only does it have easy and hard puzzles, it also gives to the ability to use the hint as many times as you want, with the penalty only beong that it adds more time to how long it took you to finish the puzzle. It puts the hint on a tile at random, which I have grown to like. All in all, this is a great game if you want to play a codeword puzzle game.

A very enjoyable screen-based version of the paper word game. It is much more "quickfire", with game times measured in seconds rather than minutes, which I like. A minor annoyance is that I often had to tap a square three or four times before it registered... And PLEASE enlarge the font for the game time at the end so us "Oldies" don't need to dive for our reading glasses!

One good thing is the game had different levels. But, this game is not like the dell-penny book codewords, as it did not use all letters of the alphabet (I played the hard level in this app). Layout & Settings I didn't enjoy the layout because the settings gave me options for larger letters, etc, but that did not take effect: There were multiple themes but not a true dark theme, which would be nice. Not bad. I will check back in 6 MOS to see if anything changes.

The controls and game play are logical, clean, and smooth. Oddly, the game doesn't appear tied to a single variant of English; sometimes using UK, sometimes American (individual puzzles seems consistent, but a puzzle can use one, the next puzzle can be using the other). Other than inconsistent language variant used, it's a great game.

Enjoyable and keeps my brain from getting rusty. Easy to use compared to other codeword games I have tried. All sections played. Some spelling is odd to me and can annoy but I do understand why this occurs. Adverts do stop my score from showing which has only just started. I am too interested in the game to study or follow the ads. Thank you for allowing me to play without cost.

Great for people who aren't so keen of crossword puzzles but still want to give their brain a little workout. Simple to control and different difficulty settings. Ideal for when you have afew minutes to spare. Saves midway through a level to continue when you're ready. Doesn't take up much storage.

Works quite neatly and smooth. Love the simple and helpful functionalities. Also the adds are modest, which is s big plus. Letters could be a little less big and bold though. Such would improve overview and readibility. and choice of words maybe a bit more on the 'constructive' side. Seems like a keeper :)

Very nice. I looked for it because I like the codewords from Puzzle Page and wanted more. For a future update, I would like to see a dark mode setting. Nightlife doesn't quite cut it. I'd give 5 with that update. ;)

Four difficulty levels to choose from with the hardest level being challenging enough to want to keep playing. Nice to be able to look back and see time taken to solve previous puzzles. Can restart a puzzle if you've filled in too many wrong letters. Interesting words and few plurals.

This is great fun and you also get two new puzzles (one hard, one difficult) daily. However it should be noted this is American English spelling and includes names, acronyms, slang including odd spelling eg of Yiddish, archaic and even Middle English words, etc. It's as though everything that could be very broadly defined as (American) English was thrown at an AI system. Still, hours of enjoyment.

Aw, jeez, I just had to erase my entire review, finding the answer to my issues in another puzzler's review. I thought some words had to be made up, while that reviewer felt that the words were variants of English. Not quite sure of that, but I'll leave that to the creators to answer here, please. Was going to rate a 3, now I'll go to 4 until I hear more to convince me to gladly go to 5.

pretty good no complaints except for maybe medium is sometimes too easy to be called medium and sometimes too hard to be called medium but overall it's rather kind of fun. Its so good, I wish there was a similar app with the actual clues to answer, an actual crossword puzzle which is what i was originally looking for. Other crosswords dont seem to know what medium means, so this app is really a treat to have decent mediums.

It is a solid implementation of one of my favorite word puzzles. Enough different difficulty levels to suit my every mood/attention level. Good helps and hints. Advertising is clear and not the type to trick you into clicking.

i love this app and im a fan of the puzzles. not loaded down with ads either. easy to usr and not super hard where it gets on your nerves. Only issue is I can't open the second pack of puzzles even though I completed the required amount. I will give 5 stars.

Worth the small cost for no-Ad play. The app works very well and has lots of puzzles. I upgraded to the paid version after only a short time but don't recall the ads being very intrusive like other free game apps typically are.

very good except for some of the words used, a mixture of UK and US English, French Spanish plus place names. I do like the check box feature which will highlight errors and the "reveal letter" if you are really stuck.

Interesting game that can make you addictive. Your vocab and reflexes are put to good test. Reason for 4 stars is that as the number of empty cells decreases, it becomes time consuming to find the empty ones. Otherwise it is all good.

I have loved doing codewords since I was a lad and I am enjoying this game. The ads aren't too bad or intrusive. You will very quickly become addicted, it will sharpen your brain and you can't beat the feeling when it all comes together and finally makes sense!

simple easy to use interface. four play levels for all abilities. can play with or without network connectivity. a great test of skill. Top marks to the developers.

Great app; unobtrusive, easily skipped ads; nice range of difficulty levels. Only slight inconvenience is no preview of settings, long winded font selection etc. But still, a very enjoyable app.

excellent with several levels to choose from according to your ability. The ads are not intrusive and minimal compared to other apps

I enjoy this game as I enjoy code word puzzles. It's certainly challenging trying to spell words I've never heard of or am unlikely to EVER come across again. But it's relaxing and enjoyable.

Love this app. It reminds me of penny cross code words which I love. It might be a little too easy for the expert. I usually finish the puzzles in 2 minutes.

Entertaining game with varying degrees of challenge. I've learned to get used to ads if I can't afford to pay for apps & games, so they don't bother me so much. I appreciate the large number of free puzzles.

This is one of my favourite games it uses and stretches you language skills, your logic. You can go back and try for a faster time. The daily puzzles are a great start to my day.

I like this kind of puzzle but the game has a tendency to use very obscure words which makes it difficult to apply logic in solving the puzzles. This is so frustrating I will be looking at other apps.
