Collector for ArcGIS

On my Android phone, the app keeps crashing almost any time I try to change the basemap. It also has never let me download a map for offline use. I keep getting an error message saying that the download failed because "Parameters cannot be null." I've used Collector on a Windows 10 tablet as well, and it works a little better there, but still has issues. It won't let me remove maps I've downloaded for offline use, and doesn't give me the option to change my work area. If you will always use Collector in areas with cell signal, you'll have little or no problems with this app, but if you need it for work in remote areas, you'll be disappointed.

Works great. The major thing that I'm disappointed in is that you can access the individual Offline Areas in an IOS version of the app but not for the Andriod version. It's not very useful when you have to go out into the field where there isn't any cell service so you make these offline areas to reduce the about of storage it uses but then you find out you can't even access the individual offline areas. Please add this feature to the Android version.

A feature, an option for enabling / disabling a background data collection is needed as our field personel has to walk in mountainous areas and forests and we need to know what parts of selected area were already checked (management). This should be possible in both online and offline mode. Hope it comes in a new release. Thanks.

Frustrating at times. Had to use it on a project for work. Apparently works like a charm for iOS but had constant issues on Android. Can only download one map at a time and even then only basemaps show and not the layers I need to see. Also ran into problems syncing data. Couldn't use it efficiently for its intended purpose.

Offline map function is terrible. I have made over 500 changes while working in the field using an offline map, and none of the changes sync back to the original layer! I am currently trying to figure out how to save the edits amd append them back to the layer, as this is a whole days worth of work lost! The guides are all unhelpful, and do not address how to go about this process. Collector worla perfectly fine if you choose to work with live data, but DO NOT try to take it offline.

Can't control screen orientation. App constantly switches between portrait and landscape between pages and menus, then during actual use forces you to work in landscape which requires holding the device with two hands. Even bottom tier apps from indie developers manage to program their apps to use the device's orientation, not sure why Esri can't figure this out

Very poor functionality and far worse client support from Esri. They care only about attracting new clients--standard response for any issues from existing clients receives the replies "That's impossible/not repeatable". Offline field collection of data does not push edits back to all devices even when every device is synced multiple times so you can line up a dozen devices, sync them all 15 times, and they'll still show different values for data collected/edited offline. We're paying for this?!

This app is useless for the individual consumer. It will not function for individual private/personal use w/o first paying an annual recurring subscription fee. esri is unconcerned w Individuals - pay $100 to use, or pay the discount price of ...$100 for student use. A military veteran - well you're in luck; specially discounted to $100. And we haven't forgotten you Seniors - reap the rewards of retirement w a special discount price of $100. & After 1 yr, renewal is easy w an auto annual charge!

Very difficult to download and go offline. Also, if you don't download the correct area you could be screwed as the app will not let you collect data outside of the area of download. I also can't figure out how to download additional areas, not a very user friendly app.

SO many bugs with this. We have issues with layers not showing up on android devices, It doesn't like web correction services like VRS. I wish I had never gotten rid of classic. It no longer seems to be available on the play store.

great app, using daily, sometimes freezes but I like it anyway. I work a lot from office and need to print a lot papers from the app. are you going to create pc version? I tried to find it on the web but nothing coming up. I think for personally it is easier to use it on pc. giving 4 stars because I would love to see it on pc

The app keeps crashing anytime I try to sync my data. I need argent assistance please. The app on my S3 tablet seems to work just fine. On the other hand the work on my A51 with the latest OS upgrade phone seems to crush anytime I try to sync data.

not good. this app crashes constantly. won't load. never opporates correctly. I use this for work, and it is al,put essential for my job however I waste extensive amounts of time trying to get it to work, deleting, re-dowloading, etc...

Absolutely trash, can't update offline maps and takes hours to download small map sections on 4g or wifi. Veg point duplicates, data loss, and not showing points are just a few of the issues daily.

This app freeze up when trying to download a map to work off line, are it want allow you to download the map at all. When you are trying to take pictures to download with the collector sometime it will allow you to do it and sometime it doesn't, you have to wait to long for a down load

This would be a great app if I didn't have to trouble shoot it every other day...I couldn't imagine doing this job on paper, so I am grateful for this app. Just wish developers would get their act together and develop the app for android users instead of just porting over an iOS program. It is disgusting that you are forcing everyone to switch to iOS after the new year. I've never liked apple and probably never will. Android has always been the better operating system in my experience.

Digitizing is awkward for lines and polygons. For geologic mapping it is unusable. Has potential but was built for municiple mapping. Works great if all you map is points.

This app doesn’t deserve any praise. It has become outdated. Works somewhat fine on IOS but terrible on Android. Several maps will not work offline that do on the IOS version. The performance is clunky at best.

The app crashes whenever I try to sync an offline map as of 06/30/2021. I've tried restarting and reinstalling to no avail. This has basically rendered the entire app worthless for my department.

Worst app. I've had to reload this app 3 times a week to get it to work. App has issues downloading maps, syncing up, going live sometimes drops and points dont attach.

11/21...Started working again...11/9...Does not work anymore on Android...will not load data or even all for collection... Trying to use the new collector beta...it crashes some times and does not allow for offline editing...

Major issues holding back our work. It's been about a month now where the app is not working properly. Lots of bugs and errors!! Please fix soon..

Used fine over past several months with Moto. Got a Sony Xperia device and constantly crashes. Great app when it works properly. Please fix crashing issue.
