Cololight

Absolutely horrible experience. I've had the light for more than a year and I mostly turn it on manually as the app never works. I tried and tried and tried to upload my own pattern but it takes forever to upload (on a lucky day) or it just doesn't work at all. I originally thought I'd buy more lights in the future but I'm not going to do it and I'm going to buy from other brands.

This app really is very obsolete and in dire need of updating: • It won't work if your connection is anything newer than 3G. • If you cannot connect/sync the app you are stuck with the basic animation options which also leave alot to be desired since the products this app is for are all marketed a customizable RGB smart lights. • Would love to be able to use my lights as they were designed to be, sadly this app stands between me and a potentially amazing product.

No reason to need wifi. This should be a Bluetooth device. If it has to use wifi, it should work on modern systems. This is outdated trash and will never connect, no matter what I do.

At first, it seemed simple and very intuitive. I can change colors, brightness, and all through wi-fi. The issue is the rest of the app (which can be fixed because it's software). When I wanted to customize my hexagons and gave the option for individual dots, I believed this would be very cool; I was wrong. You cannot change individual dots because if you change one hexagon, anything on the chain changes as well. Luckily this is fixable, and I would love to see this fixed in the future.

I really like the lighting tiles itself and the app aldo works quite well. Especially the custom dynamic effects are great! Although, two things need to be added to this part in my opinion. First, I want to create my own colorpalettes/gradients. Second, there needs to be a slower speed setting. Even at the lowest, the lights fade too fast for me.

This app could be a lot better. You have so many custom patterns but don't offer the user the ability to build the same kind of patterns. Plus, it takes a long time for patterns to load onto the device. I suggest allowing patterns to be imported and exported for easy sharing and backup and also allowing us to make dynamic patterns past 15 frames as well as Rythmic patterns. I hope y'all get it sorted out, cause it's a pretty cool product.

I now have 26 lights, setting up on a steady pattern software is not updating created template .. Nice software but not smooth. Plus is it possible to "read" the links rather than pull them out and take it all apart etc etc If we could "read" them we can also see physically where they are wrong. With 26 lights you cant just pull it all out without wrecking it. Pairing make sure your Bluetooth is on, then start reconnect all mine 3 units lost connection and yep it was a pain. But it works.

Pairing is a disaster, i have all 3 types of controllers and none of them pairs reliably. Instructions are unclear and often wrong, holding the button on the pro unit for 2 seconds doesn't start BT pairing, it's actually more than 5 seconds. Some controllers support pairing via WiFi or BT, the instructions don't mention that. Lighting effects are completely undocumented, there's a lot of trial and error involved. Overall buggy and poorly documented, only buy this if you know wireshark and python

The app is full of bugs and the most annoying is when it can't connect to the server (which happens alot) so you are unable to adjust the cololight device. Ashame since the cololights themselves are great. The app really let's it down. They need to fix it. On a side note, I'd appreciate if they got rid of the timed ADs to buy more cololight each time I opened the app 😊

I bought 2x 6pack of the Lifesmart Cololights. It's got quite a few random modes. Is there a email address or somewhere to request additional modes? Something like a "Random Tile slow fade Mode" - Add this mode where the tiles will choose either every tile to be random color , or all tiles to be 2 or 3 colors of randomness and stay like that for 3min. Then with a slow fade option to change colors to more random tiles different color to then stay like that for 3min etc.. This is a good option for someone that likes the lights to be on all the time but does not want the lights to be too much animated

Terrible app. The product it's self is good brilliant colour animation the only downfall is how Terrible this app is. If they fixed the issues with the app the product would be amazing.

It's an Ok app, UI is not very intuitive, there's a lot of room to improve, also for some reason my timer doesn't work, ends up turning the lamps ON at random times during the day but you just them off manually, other than that, they look very niece in a room, put those boys right next to your TV so that they can react to the sound!

This app is highly unintuitive. The icons for presentation modes are impossible to decipher and there is no descriptive or explanatory information. The device claims to connect to Alexa but the LifeSmart skill is a total failure. The lights are pretty enough, but controlling them with the app is just too painful.

Setup fails when attempting to connect to 2.4 ghz WiFi... Once, when I came back later to fiddle with it, the app acted like seup had succeeded and I could configure the (convoluted) settings. Came back again, and was asked to complete setup which resulted in failure once again. This is on a Galaxy Note 8. Android 9

why is there a 10 second long ad everytime i open up the app PLEASE IM JUST TRYING TO TURN ON MY LIGHTS WHY IS THERE AN AD AGAIN

Lack of color customization, if I'm trying to make a custom static effect or any effect albeit I want to use THE COLORS I WANT. It shouldn't be that difficult to have it yo where I'm able to make my own color. The only way you can is to set all panels one color which I don't want? Like why is that the only way you can use a custom color. This has frustrated my so heavily being its something so important just completely ignored/overlooked. Static effects with the 16 colors im given is horrible

A really good app, but can still be better. **For the confused users, to pair, you can manually type in the SSID the same way you're typing in the password. 😂 You guys are funny. 😂 I only wish the dev can add more control over what specific/personal colors you like to use or combine with the set of effects. I mean I'm sure that can be done. I don't understand why it's not made available on this app.

*update* Fantastic customer service, very responsive. There was an overload of the servers which caused the issues everything is fixed and working as it should */Update* Whatever happened in the latest update broke the wifi connecting to the light. I have a linksys velop which worked beautifully all year till about a week ago. Now the light stopped working with google assistant and now the app as well. I tried reconnecting to no avail as well as deleting and starting fresh. Nothing works

the app could use a bit more work because I'll always have to close or reset the app to connect to my lights. it's not a big deal to me because I still manage to change the lights through my phone and music feature works from it as well.

----------------------------------STAY AWAY! don't buy, absolutely no support in the US as of speaking. i bought multiple packs of the 3-light starter kit, then found out that they only came with 2 connectors each. i contacted support through all the channels they offered to see if they were able to either provide additional connectors, or if they could point me to where to buy more (the phone number listed in this app is a disconnected number, shady much?) and no one ever responded to me. i sent emails to their amazon seller profile, massgenie (where i purchased it) and through lifesmart's own website contact support section - absolutely no response. this was 2+ weeks ago. the lights themselves are ok, but note that if you have any kind of problems with them at all or need any kind of support, there is ABSOLUTELY NO ONE will respond to you. ----------------------------------STAY AWAY!

None of my custom designs will properly display. I have, of course, checked that the connections and shape are all correct, and yet it still doesn't display it correctly. And sometimes it will say it successfully applied the new template and yet there has been no change.

Its simple and it works. I just hate how buggy it gets when you close the app for a while then come back to find out its buggy asf. A lot of updates needed tho. Love the product and its very unique and gorgeous! Not everyone has it or seen it before.

I hadn't been able to connect it to WiFi for months since I got it. So was basically using as a lamp But they must have upgraded the ap as now it has connected i can get the whole experience with all the different variations and I love it changing in time with music.

The app insists on having full access to make phone calls, access to my phone book, access all data on the sd card/phone including photos, and access to record audio... It's a funky light!! Why does it need any of that??? Very disappointing!

Extremely frustrating. It configures only one time out of so many failed times, and then forgets the configuration after a while. Then you have to go through the frustrating process all over again.
