Colonial Flag App

Do NOT rely on this app! It's handy...if and when notifications are received on-time, which isn't always the case. This app has one function. Timely notification of flag events. Receiving a half-staff notification at 10:45 am, on the day for which the flag should have been lowered at sunrise, is unacceptable. This happens far too often, for an app which has one solitary function.

A great app for reminders and updates related to the Flag position. While it also is a shopping app for flags, its usefulness goes well beyond buying quality flags! With this app, you never have to worry about when or where the US and state flags are to be lowered and raised. The local alerts for state specific lowering is a very nice feature. I cannot recommend any other app for this purpose!

It's not overwhelming, it simply does what it does. It gives me a small notification on when the flag is at half staff, or if I'm not paying attention and I notice a flag is lowered I can quickly look at why. It's faster than using Google, but how much time am I really saving, let's be honest. It's just convenient.

This is an easy app to download and use. It only sends a notification when something warrants it (eg. Presidential order of flags to half-staff, a patriotic holiday on which flags should be displayed). Unlike many other apps, it does not clutter your phone with unneeded notifications.

The flag app is a good reminder of when to lower the American flag. My only complaint is that it is sometimes slow or completely fails to alert you to lower the flag on last minute calls to lower it. Like when important officials pass away or a major catastrophe.

Best flag app out there. However it recently stopped sending me notifications. I have just seen it was supposed to be half staff for the last 5 days because I was curious as to when the next time it was scheduled to be at half staff. Please fix the notifications!

I downloaded this app for work. I need to be able to know when to put our flag at half mast. This app sent me an alert for veterans Day... I lowered the flag to half mast... Upon leaving for the day, I realized this application simply sent me a notification of veterans day for literally no reason. There is no change to the flag on veterans day. Way to make this unbelievably stupidly uselessly confusing, for absolutely no reason. Thanks a lot. Uninstalling.

This app used to be great. It no longer sends me notifications for half staff. It has also become unreliable for accurate status. For example flags are half staff today in Wisconsin and the app shows full.

Update 4/6/21. As with some other reviews I have found that many of the most recent notifications have been received late morning/early afternoon on the day the flag is to be lowered. On one occasion i received the notification on the second day of the multi day half mast period.*** Easy to use. If you fly your flag daily or not, it's nice to be aware when to fly properly at half-staff

This is a great app that is full of all sorts of flag info. Love refering to it when the flag is half masted and I hadn't heard why. Also when the flag has seen better days and needs retiring...it tells you how to properly take care of it rather than just throwing it in the trash.

Love Love Love it!! Let's me know when to fly at full or half staff plus special days like July 4th. Sends out a notification a day ahead of time. Can't go wrong with this app. Nice to have so I don't forget to fly my flag when I need to!!! Lots of info in this app. I highly recommend it!!! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

I love this app. I recently installed a flagpole that I got for Christmas and I wanted a way to easily see if the flag should be displayed at half or full staff. This app is great for that, and it also has alot of other information about caring for and properly displaying our great flag. Awesome app, highly recommend!

I am responsible for two fire stations and making sure the flags are where they belong. This app has never failed me. In fact...I've managed flags at times that the chief and senior officers who use other apps failed to recognize the need to adjust properly our representation of the American people...our flag. Dont use any other app.

Excellent!!! Just needs a widget to put on home screen to replace icon. Could have little flag that moves up and down and tells why.... Otherwise does exactly what we want..

It is important to know when to make the changes with the flag but wish it would pop up on the screen instead of just letting us know to look it up. A little icon of a flag at half staff when it should be at half staff would be great.

When you go into the app, it doesn't scroll so there is no way to look through the different options under each tab (i.e., home, alert, etc.).

I understand that the beloved flag has been changing to full and half mast a lot lately but that makes it even more important for an app to alert you ahead of time. This app gives me the alert on the day of rather than prior.

I've signed up for programs before that supoosedly will tell me the status of the flag, but none have been 100% accurate. This flag app hasn't missed a single day, and has even told me of days I never realized were supposed to be half staff, and all ahead of time.

I like the app because it notifies me of half mass events, but it would be really nice to see a calendar for upcoming events since notifications typically come through later in the day.

great app. proper etiquette is important. life tip: use this app to compare to the flag of the place where you are about to do business. If they can't take the time to display the flag properly, you may want to think twice before doing business there.

Wasn't sure how to keep up with when to fly my flag half-staff...even tried a website that was supposed to email me when to do so....they didn't. I have had proper flag etiquette ever since I found this app. It works great!

This a great for the patriot. If you fly a flag this app will notify you when any change in flying at full staff. Also, when it's time to replace your flag they have a great store. You can assure this app won't tell you when to kneel at the flag.

Enjoy the reliable source and alerts when you need to change the flying status of the flag. App is only federal not tied into state level. Simple, reliable, and good

I like to be in the loop when I see a flag at half staff, so I used to always Google if I saw a flag at half staff. Plus I hated realizing that it was a half staff day after I had left for work with my flag flying at full staff. Since I downloaded this app I haven't had to Google the reason, or run home in my lunch break to lower my flag. I also love that it only sends a notification when there is a half staff day. I hate when apps bog me down with useless notifications all day long.

It's one of my most useful tool. It alerts me of where flags should be hung takes the guess work out of things really great and simple app

doesn't update. doesn't give notifications until after the date has passed. can't view upcoming events. always gives an error about not connecting to the server.

Excellent app that allows me to fly the colors in the appropriate way during special recognitions. I love my country, I love the flag and I love this app.

Works great for the majority of the time. There are some days where a notification on the stairs of the flags doesn't push through.
