This is fabulous for a color blind user like me! It makes it easy to identify basic colors, but also possible to highlight colors you're interested in in cool ways. Some advanced features are tricky to understand, but worth it! For those pointing out that the color names aren't always intuitive, note that color perception is an incredibly complex topic, and our eyes and brains are always adjusting to the surroundings with our own notion of white balance, which an app can't possibly reproduce.
Good idea but this app is very awkward to use. Add a zoom facility, for looking at small items. Add a handle to the cursor, so finger doesn't obscure the aiming point. Add a focus control, so small items of interest can be correctly focused in a busy background. Show sample size as a box on the image, so colour can be unambiguously selected. The fast update speed is no benefit, instead include averaging for a better estimate at a modest update rate. There is something wrong with the minimum saturation adjustment, white and black show as a colour even at 90%.
It'd be great if there were a red-green colorblind option in the non-simulation color blind type. OR the ability to check more than one of the option types...it is a superd application for those of us who are colorblind. I can't stand the constant use of red and green to intricate on/off. It's stupid to even have a light when something is off...
Cool app. I have protanopia (red deficiency), but when I choose that as the type I have and use the shift option, it doesn't help me much with the color blind test patterns...a little bit, if I really focused. However when I chose Tritanopia (blue) it really made it obvious. All in all, I think this is great.
This is a very good app and helps me quite a lot. I would like to suggest the developers to implement a facility into this application so that we might be able to check the colours in a picture from our pictures in the gallery. I'm sure that would be very helpful as we often need stuff like this (even from screenshots, pictures sent by others, etc). Please take this into consideration, and this will become an essential for anyone suffering from colour-blindness!
Amazing app! I use it a lot when shopping for clothes and accessories. Now I don't have to avoid wearing or using certain colors that I have trouble identifying, or asking others to tell me what color things are. My sons have used this app for homework help when maps or graphs use hard to distinguish colors. I have recommended it to all of my colorblind relatives or friends. I did have a little bit of frustration while fine tuning the settings, but once I got it set up I was so happy with it.
Thanks for this app! I have green-red color blindness. Now I can pass the colorblind test and see where is the green in fact. I don't see "real" colors with this app, but I can see the differense between red and green colors, that normal people can see. I use the tritanopia simulation mode for this. Other modes don't work for me. Many thanks for no ads.
Dude this was great! as a person who has strong protanopia I really liked this app and its help! I'm still new but it works great. I dunno of theres a photo (Like from your own gallery) picker, I feel like that would be easier then having to pull out another device with the photo you want. other then that I totally recommend this!
Thank you so much for this utility. As someone with Deuteranomaly, I always struggle with knowing if my device is charged or charging. It is a small thing, but with LEDs everywhere now, most default to RGB, which makes it hard for me to parce and this tool makes it simple to perceive colors without having to see them.
I am color blind, red green, but it tried telling me that this green lid was actually a teal color which it most certainly was not so as far as locating and sensing color, not very efficient. But I found the color filter to be pretty cool, it could definitely be useful out in the field.
Kudos to the creators of this app! It may not be perfect, but that's understandable as the severity of one's color blindness may not be the same as the next person. This app helps me differentiate colors I wouldn't otherwise be able to see differences between.
all colors were skewed towards blue. obviously this app is very dependent on camera hardware of a phone and amvient lighting. not sure if it would be possible to calibrate it, ie teach it colors. looks likr a great app that would be a tremendous help to us color blind people
Very good! Finding out the correct color with the camera works perfectly. I would like to be able to determine colors from pics on file, from a screenshot, or from the browser. Its a shame the developer has not updated since Mar-2017.
Awesome idea and has helped me in some cases but a lot of the time it's tough for the camera to read the color. Not sure if its because of the shade or what but it does mess up the colors a lot.
I work on computers and cannot distinguish between the green and amber LEDs. The filter on this app will show only the color you want to see, everything else is in grayscale. You have made my job so much easier! THANK YOU!!
This helps me a lot at work. It also serves as a second opinion I find it really helpful. I would love a feature to load up a picture or screen shot and use it there rather than only use the camera.
Good idea. Most people seem to be moderate deutan but the correction in the app seems to assume extreme deutan. A real pity. With development this app could greatly enhance a lot of lives. E.g. would it be possible to have a test in the app that generates a personal correction profile that is then used to generate the shift? Also would like more colour code options e.g. NCS.
Nice interface with useful tools for color blind people to make more sense of the world. Highly recommended! 🤩👍 Suggestions: manual white balance (calibration with a white surface), torch toggle.
I really appreciate this app because I have a chromatopsia. The only thing that I would improve is the size of the font. If you could make it at least twice as large that would be a great help. Actually four times the size will be better for me, but I know that other people might not need huge print.
the colours are as accurate as your camera. It does help somewhat for those who are colourblind, however in poor lighting conditions it is not something to depend on.
This is a pretty good app overall. I love being able to show my friends what I see whenever they ask "what colour is this". Very fun colour picking out option, I walk around seeing what things are actually what colour, alot of fun :D
It is very useful, I don't have a great degree of color blindness but sometimes it is difficult for me to identify some colors and at times like this this application helps me a lot.
Its... not great Sure, in a hunch you can tell from a distance if the dress is Red, Blue, Green, Yellow etc. But it is not at all trustable with specific colors like "Dull Orange" or shades of pink and purple Should you install it? Sure but ONLY for basic colors
This app makes reds stand out where I never saw red before! I think I can actually go berry picking with this app. I could never see raspberries or strawberries on the green background but with this, I think I will be able to.
A bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it this app is absolutely amazing, so many features and it works in real-time without a hitch.
I really love this app I am colorblind and I have very low vision so this app has been a A plus for me the only thing I will improve on this as a big button to scan with other than that is a wonderful app keep up the good work
I'm colorblind and work in IT. I needed something to help me differentiate between different colored wires. This app is so helpful. The color detection is not perfect, but that is largely due to technical limitations and the camera. Remember "The Dress" viral phenomenon? Anyway, great app. To the author: Thanks for making it.
