Color Messages - SMS, MMS

I really wanted to like this app. It's pretty and super customizable, but it crashes every. single. time I try to open an MMS text and it is sooo slow when I'm trying to type, when I'm trying to open the text, when I hit send. It's frustrating! I kept hoping for an update to fix these issues (surely I can't be the only one) but unfortunately, no such luck. If this app does get updated I might install again, but for now I can't deal with it anymore.

The app keeps sending duplicate messages to people on different days even though I never sent the duplicates myself. The app has a hard time sending GIF's or certain pictures and I get error messages saying to try again. The worst thing about this app is the total lack of support. I have emailed the developer at least 10 times and have never gotten a response. Very frustrating. I guess I'll have to search for a new app as I can't get help with this one.

Edit: I have experienced the group messaging issue . It gets me confused because they send separately. Please fix this issue. Old review: A great alternative SMS other than stock SMS messaging app. I've been using this app for about 2 weeks now. It has not once crashed or lagged. It is super user friendly and has a nice, clean, and overall look. I like the personal settings available to use and especially like the fact that there are ZERO ads. This is now my default messaging app. Great job!

This app works so much better than the Verizon app "Message +". This app works very well, especially with multiple contacts in a group sending messages to the group. The Verizon app had trouble notifying me that a person in the group had sent a message- only if I opened the app would I see the messages come in, and it could be as late as the next day(!!!). Color Messages has no such shortcoming. Also Color Messages allows one to customize the display and alerts.

Samsung Note 8. A little disappointed, I have been using this app for a couple of months now and I have noticed that my "sound indicator" doesn't always notify me of an incoming message. That can be annoying especially when you are expecting something. I enjoy the backgrounds available for each contact. I hope that the sound can be fixed or I will have to go back too Message +.

The app has a nice feel. MY only complaints: Having some troubles with using it for mms messages. It imported my conversations, but several of my mms conversations showed up only as individual conversations with each of the individual members. I can't create text messages to multiple people. I select a contact and it goes to the message editor. There is no option to add new recipients.

This app offers very pretty themes & allows you to customize the colors of your Msg Bubbles. However, it's NOT just an add-on to help you. It replaces your existing Messaging App. (I wanted an add-on.) That wouldn't be so bad, but your previously set alerts don't work & it doesn't even show that you've got new msgs. It does show your previous conversations, but there are missing text msgs in the conversations. For making messages pretty, it gets an A+. For functioning correctly, it gets an F+.

love the app. had to upgrade from the note 5 to the note 10plus and the text app that's pre installed doesn't let me (or I just couldn't figure it out) assign different text rings to different people and I couldn't change my back ground. this app allowed me to set up my texting the way I've had it for years! the only down fall I found was all the ring tones that come with the app, to my ears are a little to similar to each other. I just went and downloaded some other tones and problem solved.

Switched to this after Mood started giving me problems. Really pretty with themes built in and the option to set you own background picture, change the font, and other customizations. Only took off a star because you have to use a separate app or keyboard to add GIFs instead of having a gify plugin built into the app. Also, the selection of stickers is so-so. Still, very pretty and love the way it displays attached photos like a mini collage.

It is so much fun having the ability to personalize my messages from every aspect imaginable. The choices are diversified so there is something for everyone to choose from. It should be interesting to receive some feedback for my sent texts. Such a great way to make messaging alot more colorful and personalized. I definitely recommend this app if you want to add some pizazz to your messages. Why not give fun a try?

I've been looking for a long time for a great texting app and I finally found it! Only major disappointment is that there is no option to send group texts. I hope developers change this so I can keep the app and not look for something else. I do love the features, themes, and how you can customize everything!

Quite possibly the best and smoothest running text messaging application I have used so far. I'm very happy with Color messaging. My only complaint and the reason for only giving the application 4 stars is the lack of themes. I saw where more themes were to be added but as of now I have yet to see them. A variety of themes is one reason I chose the application but having a choice of less than 10 themes makes me think the developers aren't giving the application process all the attention needed.

I am enjoying this app so much. I never knew I could change the messaging app on my phone. Thought I had to use what was installed. My only complaints are... 1. I can't sent gif messages. I can forward them. But not send them. It shows them but when I click on them it won't put them in the message. Unless I go to the website and send it as a link. 2. It won't allow me to edit recipients of a message or put more than one recipient in a message. I just can't figure it out. Hmmm...

You can add your own personal ring tone to this app to make it personal to your standards. You are able to change the wallpaper of the home page and also the background of the text message display plus you can change the bubbles and also change the fonts in the app too. It's pretty decent I think that they could add some more backgrounds to it so you have more choices to choose from. I really think that in the future updates you need to come up with some more ideas for background designs

Love the look and feel of this app. Beautifully configured and easy to customize. But it keeps crashing - and sometimes crashing other apps I'm in when I don't even know this one is running (screen says color messages has stopped - but meanwhile it's crashed whatever else I'm running at the time). So frustrating, bc I really wish I could keep using this app!

*Update* After about a week of usage, I loved the app. But then my brother sent me a text and I was receiving individual messages from each person. I guess the app doesn't support group messaging. *Original Post* I strongly dislike the SMS app that comes on my phone. I tried a few others before trying this one and this is by far my favorite. I haven't had any issues whereas I was finding so many with the others. I love how I can customize everything. Super pleased. Will continue to use!

The app was working fine, I liked the layout and interface and everything. Then one day it just stopped working. I lost all of my messages, it refused to send messages and stopped any incoming messages as well. It completely cut me off from all text communication! I had to uninstall :( still on the hunt for a good, reliable texting app.

I would give it more stars, but the issue i have with this app is just too frustrating. You cant send group messages. I cant put multiple people into a new conversation, and any group messages i already had established on my phone doesnt send right. It sends the message to both or all other parties, but when they respond it sends separately to me, so the other person(s) in the group chat doesnt see the response. Very weird and disappointing. Going to remove the app and go back to Mei or Mood.

I love this app. I only wish the ones I'm sending a message to could also receive my new look when i send them a message. I guess if everyone sent different looks it would clash. It would be fun to see what each person used though. Also i have to choose to use this app each time i check or email someone. Wish it was set to continue until I changed it myself. I chose the black with gold butterflies. Very elegant.

I love this app. However it has an issue where it needs to use data to send or download texts that contain emojis. Also texts that need downloaded won't get a pop up or sound notification when received either. As a result you wouldn't known you got a text of a pic or one that has emojis in it unless you decide to randomly check without a notification to see a one new message icon. I prefer to use wifi when available so it sucks that I miss text with emojis because I don't need to use data then.

Very easy to use and love the color options and backgrounds. My only one issue is I lost my side of the disscussion with my daughter when I installed the app. Not sure what happened there. Its fine now with new texts. The rest of my contacts were fine. All in all I really like it so far. Still playing around wth it.

Had the app for over a year now and it worked great until about a month ago when it slowly started not sending messages. It's getting more and more frequent now that I have to resend the message 3 or 4 times for it to go through. I love all the customization options and will be sad when I have to switch to a new app because this isn't working. Maybe 40% of the messages go through first try right now.

Update: I just uninstalled this because my Norton AV flagged the app as containing malware. Tried this app for the ability to schedule messages in advance which I couldn't do with the app that came with my new phone. Free and no adds. Great message app with easy personalization. Much better than the basic app that came with my new phone.

Great app..I love the feature of changing the font style and color and being able to change the bubble color.. And I like the fact that u can put a background picture from ur photos on ur text wall and a different one on ur homepage wall..only things I found wrong were at times it's a lil sluggish..and the little message board that pops up when u get a text is always in the middle instead of the top..But great app otherwise..😜🤘😋👍

I love being able to design the background, font, and bubbles. My stock app wouldn't notify me with sound so I discovered this one, installed it, and it works well. I had some trouble figuring out how to send a group message. I had to research that online. Great overall.

This app one of the worst app i have ever downloaded. Whatever you are doing on your phone at the time i text comes it, it shuts it off. Watching a video or sending sn email it shuts down. Whenever a text comes up, a small table comes up asking you to close the app, or send a feedback. This app however has very nice themes, but everything else needs to be fixed. Very disappointed

Easy to use and set up. Has many nice , basic, helpful features without being crowded with a bunch of useless garbage. So far, it runs smoothly without any glitches but I've only been using it less than a week. Smooth sailing so far. Definitely recommend.

Had to find an alternative text message app cuz the default that came with the phone stopped giving notifications. Only thing that sucks is there isnt exactly a way to do group messaging which my family tends to do a lot of. At least none that I've figured out how to set up for this app. Other than that it's a very good alternative.

LOVE the color options and all ... but ... it CONSTANTLY said "message not sent" but people would respond to my "unsent" messages...then days/weeks later it would pull in messages "not sent" and resend them at random times. . . Even messages that I never sent with this app, but with others from months ago and send them. Not cool. Not just with 1 or 2 friends but several. I even paid for no ads and had to uninstall the app. So disappointed.

I have used this app for years and never had a problem using it until no. 1. I've been getting notifications of more than one message when they're only 1. Ex. Friend text 1 message, but I get notifications of 2. 2. I wanted to make changes in settings but it will not give me access. Frustrated with it, I uninstalled this app.
