Android app has significant limitations, poorly designed. Cannot seem to be able to search for colors by name or product code, can only rename palette if it is empty, and cannot save color into existing palette. It has great potential, but needs a lot of work to be useful. To be fair, it may work better on older versions of Android (I am running Android 9 pie).
Using the latest software version (Dec 2020)... I had 5 cans of paints in the basement that looked almost the same to me. This tool is amazing! I filtered by Sherwin Williams and it consistently got the exact color. Took about 10 samples and the exact color showed up 9 times. A little tip: this works best at night with the lights off. The one time it picked a similar color it wound being correct when i turned the lights off.
So far so good. Please add an option to clear all scan history, or select multiple, not just one by one. Saved pallettes from inspiration pictures should have pictures attached, or have link back to the picture. Also please group scan history into (renamable) groups of trial, because scanning a wall can take multiple tries, with slightly different results. That would put a whole bunch of colors in the history and get confused later.
I just bought the scan device (not even Color Muse) and downloaded the Color Muse app. So far I'm impressed. Updated to ☆☆☆☆☆. Color Muse suggested a color for a wall that was painted many, many years ago. I had the paint mixed by another supplier and after painting the walls and ceilings, it's nearly impossible to see the transition. Nearly perfect match.
Maybe I missed something obvious, but it was not clear to me that you MUST HAVE the external 'Muse' scanning hardware device. I am looking for an app that would use my phone camera for paint color samples. Would be glad to rate higher for ease of use and overall UI if it were more cleary stated about added devices so that noobs like me don't get our hopes up. I navigated through different screens and it seems straightforward enough.
Terrible. You are better off just taking a pick of the paint and go to local store to find a close match. Nothing matches, for example I held device to wall five times and got five different paint recommendations. Tried on another wall and same result. What is the point of this thing if it just guesses and you have to guess what one of the 5 is closest. I can do that myself, just guess. This is just a gimmick to sell and advertise products (furniture & other stuff) not to help find right paint. And you need an email to sign up ( share or sell your info and email).
Does a pretty good job. Unfortunately renaming folders is a PITA. The app will repeatedly kick you off your keyboard as you try to type in a name. This can happen at least 3 times in a row. Also, would like to be able to bulk delete folders instead of having to go in and individually delete them. I would like to be able to creat a main folder with sub folders of colors within. For example: I would have a main folder for House A that has all the rooms within individual sub folders. Thanks!
The colors that my color snap select are often near perfect. But, for God's sake, I don't need 7,000 different possible matches for every scan. There NEEDS to be an option to select which brands I want to see possible matches from. I always know that the existing color is going to have come from one of only 10 possible brands. Please let me narrow my search.
Terrible App : no way to delete more than one sample at a time, no way to combine same samples, scan button is in a pop up menu instead of being on the first screen. No way to compare two colors in a pallet or from scan history. Creating pallets is not intuitive and they dont automatically sync with the account. Cant look at details of color without going into another screen and clicking 'view' button. App constantly disconnects. History is bugged , when I delete a sample, 50 more show up.
Will this app be updated to allow usage for the newer Sherwin Williams Color Snap Match Pro tool? I recommend this app to all of my customers at SW and if the new tool isn't compatible with this app, it's going to be a real disappointment. I want to keep recommending your app!
First Day Looks Good. I used on a freshly painted wall. The color I bought showed up on the list so we were in the ballpark. The other colors were almost identical to my eye so that is better. For $60 that close is pretty darn good! Tip: click on the color you like to save it. 4 stars with an option for 5.
Not even close to matching colors
It is wonderful to be able to find a color match in paint for anything in the world, but it is not intuitive to save the colors or use some of the other functions in the app. Overall very easy and quick to use once you learn how to use all the functions.
Great concept. I'll give more stars when the device becomes more accurate. So far every color I've scanned is way off. If you're looking for a near match I would suggest not wasting your time with this device.
This thing absolutely refused to connect to my galaxy s9+ that's well within the updated category for this pos. It connected instantly to my wife's IPhone. Before figuring out that my wife's phone would work, I sent 6 messages to customer support and 3 days later, still haven't received any response. Customer service is absolute trash and I'm not even sure the colors match. I bought the paint and I'll update my review if they actually work out tomorrow. As of this minute, I'm disgusted with it.
Great features! Once you scan the color, the app pulls up potential matches, which you can view & compare immediately next to your object. Select your favorite and immediately save into your project folder. Makes site visits way easier!
Ny orignal review was durring a server outage, resulting in an inaccurate review. Overall this device has been helpful figuring out color schemes and paint codes available at my local store. I give it 4 stars because it requires an account and you have to log in for any functionality.
Best product ever! I use it all the time and it is extremely accurate! I take over a dozen readings and then get a sample of the top two results and it is super accurate. It has saved me hundreds of dollars.
Registration required. Why do I have to create an account.? I just bought the product from you, I do not need your cloud, just an app that connects to hardware. You should say it clearly that registration is required. Also, this app is totally user unfriendly. Rally it is so difficult to use it. Guys get your self a proper UX designer,it will cost maybe 5k but the app will be a class better.
Looks cool, but unless you bought some sort of bluetooth scanning device, its almost useless (does not seem to be able to use camera). Instead of burying that fact obliquely in the 3rd paragraph of description, make it clear up front and you won't get idiots like me giving you 2 stars.
Worked great on my iPhone. Tried using on Android and I can't remember my password. When I click the "Forgot Password" link on the app sign in screen it gives an error "The code provided was invalid:CODE %s. Please try a different code." If I try to create an account it says my email is already being used. Seriously? Can't get password reset correct and there is no way to do it on their website. Which by the way has invalid certificates that cause Kaspersky to flag the site and insecure.
this device is incredible. i couldn't find the paint i used in my bathroom from 4 years ago. i scanned and looked through the colors and as soon as i saw the right one i remembered that was the name. so i was able to go straight to the store and get it
I would say that this device is about 95%. I've scanned my mom's wall AND my sister's wall, and I told them what color was on both scanned walls. With my mom, the first choice was the correct one. With my sister, the third chosen color was the correct one. I love my Color Muse!!! Thank you!!! 😁
Great time saver. Not always accurate, but it depends on how good the paint job is that you are scanning. I use it often and recommend!
The scanner works great, but the app is horrible. Options for saving/editing palettes (groups of scanned colors) is a cruel joke.
Today the app won't find any matches and won't load filters.... last month I'd have rated this 4 stars. Before today, being unable to save the scanned colour was a headach.
This app allowed me to get a near-perfect color match for repainting my walls. Sunlight can fade paint over time, so I needed to scan my walls in several different places, then pick the color that came up more often. The tool is generally very accurate, especially if you can narrow down the search results by manufacturer. Click the Filter icon and choose the manufacturer(s). In my case, I knew the paint had come from either Sherman Williams or Benjamin Moore. The app provided me with a few color names that I then went to the paint store with. The user interface on this app is not the most intuitive, but after working with the app for a little while, it became easier. Still, it is much too tedious, and it can benefit from some significant improvements. Some suggestions: 1. Do not make the scan history an infinitely-scrolling loop. Stop the scroll when I get to the oldest scan. 2. Creating color palettes and saving colors to them is much too tedious. 3. The current version of the app requires me to create an account and login, before I can begin using the app. An older version of this app did not. 4. Syncing of my scans and color palettes to the online cloud account does not work consistently.
