I say it matches pretty well but if you want ti put multiple colors in a folder and name room in which thise colors are it fails and boots you out of the app!? Wth???
Agree with a previous poster that the concept is good, but being unable to use your phone camera is nuts. In my case I just want to get an idea of how the color would look. For $70+ to purchase the hardware, I'll take my chances. Thanks for nothing Sherwin Williams!
Just spins and spins then constantly wants me to allow Bluetooth. WHY would a paint matching app need my Bluetooth turned on? Rediculous. Is it going to match my colors with Bluetooth? Don't know how that would work. Thanks anyway
Does not want to connect to the color match tool. Worked first time for 2 colors then have never been able to get it to connect again. Deleted app and reinstalled multiple times, reset color match tool and still nothing. App actually can see the device, just will not connect to it. I'm not contacting your help.support.customer service whatever, you can read.
Just installed. Never got to check it out.. Uninstalling now! It won't let me get into the app WITHOUT connecting to Bluetooth. It doesn't need bluetooth.. forget it.
Competly useless unless you have a proprietary device. What a waste of time.
good app but dose not have enough colors within Sherwin colors to get good matches often
Saves time and look more professional.
Great tool if you know how to work with it and pretty accurate
Surprisingly good. Doesn't allow you to manipulate the scanned colors to find matches. Like you can't scan a color and search for a lighter shade of that color. Also seems odd that there is a disclaimer about on screen colors but no option to calibrate the app using the Spectro.
Requires a peripheral tool, why make an app for a phone when the phone app just comprimises your privacy and nothing else.. the phone has a camera, it can take pictures, it can more than likely do what the peripheral is doing.. the app is just a gateway to buy something you will only use a few times then on to the junk drawer. Lame!!!! The sad thing is the homedepot app actually works with the camera no peripheral.
I bought this as a tool to match paint for repairs and it saves time since I don't have to cut a sample size out to match at the counter. I just call in the paint color rather than have them match it, which takes time as well. All said, this one device saves about 2-3 hours in time per job. Well worth it.
Piece of garbage. Complete waste of 59.99 connected perfectly three times have used it. Will not connect, app up to date, app sees the device, app shows serial number, have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, have reset device several several SEVERAL TIMES, have turned off Bluetooth and turned on SEVERAL TIMES. The app knows there is a device but will not connect to it.
Looks like a beta. A lot of the words are truncated. Will only give a match for a SW color. No option to have it make a cuatom color. As a result, some accent colors seem impossible to match. Have a customer who used a different brand of paint and we can't match it with the app.
Worked amazing the first time i used it! later that day, not so much. ive reset the unit, restarted the phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, nothing fixes it. really frustrating, because its an amazing little device and very helpful, when it works... fix your app, Sherwin-Williams!
When I started using this tool I had no expectations on what it could do, and maybe as a result of that I think this is an awesome gadget and it works great for me. Use it to scan fabric or whatever to get paint color ideas, don't expect something at this price to be capable of an exact paint color match.
Trash... will not connect through Bluetooth.. even after troubleshooting... Jeff Junk certifies this tool as... JUNK!
I'm going to give the app a 4-star rating rather than 5 and that's only because I had difficulties downloading the app onto my phone now in defense of the app itself, this is not the first app I've had difficulties downloading, and maybe it's I that deserves a 4-star rating for being old school and not understanding. I have great eyes for color matching many times the suggested color that the app produces is obviously wrong lighting is very important when taking the sample. I scan each 4times
No you can't turn on my Bluetooth. Bye
Poor instructions. Doesn't explain what the results mean. I don't know how accurate this is supposed to be but sometimes the top result will say color snap and sometimes it will be the result 6 colors down, with stars, which they also don't explain (or hgtv or color or sw, how are we supposed to know what this is?) but it seems to indicate the farther away from a match, which also means the device isn't accurate or able to do anything but give you close suggestions. Not intuitive. Not accurate. F
I wanted to install the app and the choose a pic from my phone gallery of a wall color to see what a close match would be but I can't do this it seems. The app wants me to connect a device to the app. A color scanning device??? Not useful. I just wanted to pick from my gallery or take a new pic with my phone in the least.
Previously, I would remove a small section of wallboard paper to provide exact color match. NOW, I simply press ColorsSnapMatch scanner to wall and I have several color matched from which to select. Thanks S&W for removing several steps and time from sheetrock repairs requiring paint matching.
Does not work all the sudden. I've used this many times without fail. It's charged up. App is up to date. I treat this device with care. It tries to scan a color then just goes into a blank screen. Do better
Hangs at scanning devices. Can't get the app to work on iPhone or Samsung because it requires a "color sensor". When I click connect device, it spins and does nothing else. Not worth the time or effort.
I'm sure this is a wonderful device. However I will never know since the most common communication protocol on the planet (Bluetooth) will not connect to my phone. Unbelievable that this device made it out of pre-production testing.
worthless junk. i tested it by seeing if it would give me a correct match of the color i used on a kitchen i painted recently. It gave me a bunch of colers (some completely different) except the color i actually used to paint the kitchen. i tried it again in a customers house today and it gave me a "five star" match....yeah right...wasnt even close. i took a picture of the totally mismatched spot i painted so i can go back to Sherwin Williams and get my money back for this worthless product.
Great little camera! Connection was a bit testy at first but it depends on service. The matches have been very very close. Some I've done you can't see it, and others there is a variable. But great!! Way to go Sherwin-Williams!!😁
Works well for quick matches. Depending on age of paint and exposure to sunlight you may need to move around a bit and check a few areas but it works well and have no issues of crashing or connecting. I use it with my Google pixel6 pro.
