Comics Plus Library Edition

A great selection of books locked behind an utterly useless app. If you can get to the list of books the search function doesn't work. If you can check something out you can't download it. If you do manage to download something it crashes when you try to read it. Years ago this app worked, and since then for every feature they add or fix they break three others. I used to use this every day, but it's to the point where I'm not interested in working around it's failures anymore.

Basically a title page of what you could read... This app works on my iPad, but I finally got my login to work only to be shown what I could read, not what I can read. You click on a tile and it gives you a synopsis pop-up. That's it. You can't read any of the titles or download them. You can't even search for titles because of the black screen that refuses to search. How has this app been broken for so long, with no one bothering to fix it??? It's embarrassing...

Won't let me log in, let alone use it. I can browse and check out titles on the website no problem, but this app just doesn't work. I believe I did manage to log in ONCE but it kicked me back out the second I tried to browse. Like I said, no problems with the website, using the same login details. Just frustrating and useless.

Not even an approximation of working. Won't recognise my login. On attempting to reset password, asks me to "enter email above" in a text box that won't take text inputs. The only time I ever managed to login, I spent 80% of my time staring at loading screens. The sooner my local library switch to a working app the better.

So this works great on my old Nexus 9, but with my HP x2 Chromebook, while I was hoping it would work great so that I could read on a flight, it never connects and logs in... just spins. So not a terrible app, but doesn't work for chromebooks with Android app support.

This app was great until it has suddenly stopped downloading anything. You hit download and it either gives you a failed message, or says it's downloading and never does.

I can log in, and that's it. I try to check out a comic, and nothing happens. I checked out a comic through the web browser thinking it would show up on the app, and it didn't work. I tried looking for a FAQ on the app and found nothing.

something was recently done to the app that forwards it to some sort of default home page touting the benefits of having it...yet I'm still logged it not able to browse or anything.

Every time I try to check out a comic it crashes with a box that says you are now logged in. So I can't check out, download, or read anything.

Sinned up in Web browser but can't turn pages on a tablet. Can't log in on app either using my library or my email password

Won't let me log in just stays on the page loading. I haven't even gotten to try the app yet.

updated review: Awesome improvement with the new update. The app is finally easy to browse, and check-out books. All which were previously annoying. Way to go. I can finally confidently recommend this to others! While the selection is not necessarily the best, it is pretty good (and I think it might depend on the library, but I don't know). Kudos. Keep up the good work.

It's good when you are connected to the internet, however I had reoccurring issues that downloaded comics would vanish and no longer be available for offline reading which defeated the point of the download/offline feature. A handy feature I would like to see in future is a link to the next book or volume in a series after completing reading a book.

At first I thought app didn't work but i've now found they appear in checkout for downloading. Thanks this is a fabulous resource. NB :, for those who haven't got it working you need a card from your local library to register. Edit: I would give it a 5 star but when browsing , the arrows at the end of list only take me to very end page or first , not the next or previous page. So I can't see all results only first and last page.

They recently added the functionality to be able to borrow comics right through the app (before, you had to borrow through the web, and then could download to read through the app). That's great...if it worked. The app crashes every time I tell it to actually borrow a comic I've found. So, I'm back to borrowing through the web, and reading in the app.

Awesome app after the update. Now I can get back to reading unimpeded.

Bloody useless. If i could give it no stars even that would be over rating it. Takes me to online website to browse the titles but then doesn't let me read them through app or online. Keeps saying problem with login request when i have done all that has been asked me.😠😠😠

Absolutely atrocious! Consistent failure to login and no clarity on what credentials I should be using. It's not even a functioning app. My version claimed I was logged in but displayed very sparse screens. The second I click browse, it takes me to a mobile website that asks me to log in again if I want to check something out, only to return the same errors. This is doubly disappointing as the system has some very good titles I want to read, but the user interface is just disgusting. I turned to this app hoping for a better reading experience than on my browser, instead I find what can best be described as an insult.

This works on IOS but the android app is not functioning at all. Redirects you to the web page which rejects my library card and pin. I'm going to report this to my library authority as a waste of money.

All downloaded comics suddenly gone & have to redownload, takes forever to redownload. Waste of time 😣

Doesn't work well, created account but unable to access it so I have to read the comics through the website - which leaves the text blurry and difficult to read.
