I've played this game since release. Although a lot of fun, i can't help but notice that their servers are suffering from some major lag issues to the point where your units don't come out when you build them or even that the units goes to wherever part of the map that you don't even click. And the new seasons the units power balance is out of whack. And this season makes it obvious that the tech units are too easy to create to the point where the smaller units are becoming useless.

Once you progress in the game it becomes unplayable and will require you to pay to win. I reached platinum 2 quickly, that's when the game became unplayable, as you will get matched against players with units of 3-4 levels higher than you, even unit counters can't beat the level difference (was still able to reach diamond 1 but not before upgrading the units). Also, the game doesn't get updates... Other than that it's really fun.

So this game use to be great but now all I get is challenge levels and I can make any progress. I also never get enough points to do anything with. I wish I could just get enough to upgrade my units. It has become lame and there is no ranking system. I am a lever 44 and will fight people who are a level 60. The match making system is broken. I spent lots of money over the past few years and now it's just broken.

Good gameplay. Poor matchmaking. I have a +100 win streak despite losing many matches, due to the 'challenge match' system. I'm trapped in a matchmaking grid where my units are underlevelled and I have no chance at winning against my overlevelled (8 vs 11) opponent. But because these level differences are considered 'challenge matches', they don't count as a loss for me and I don't lose medals. Effectively trapping me in an infinite loop of challenge matches and losses. Very disappointing.

A great game, but has balance issues. I'd recommend some changes to how challenge battles works. 1. All unknown units would be at level 1 or at least handicapped in some other way. 2. Higher level opponents should have a sort of handicap depending on the experience/level difference so then it gives some chance of a fair fight But with more love and care I can see this game becoming a great command n conquer game.

Love it! No ads, and I didn't have to buy anything to make that happen. Game play is smooth and easy to adapt to. Some games are so complicated I just can't figure them out, not the case with C and C. I was a big fan of the original C and C series on windows 95, this isn't quite that experience, but it is a lot of fun and does involve strategy to defeat your opponent. I wish they'd come out with a version that emulates C and C Generals and Zero Hour. Even one that was windows based.

I wanted to love this game, but the fact is that it's just a cash grab pay to win system. The fact that you don't lose standing on a loss means that you keep moving up to higher ranked opponents. This causes the level disparity between units and skill to grow meaning you need to pay money to catch back up. The whole game could be fixed if you were set in a rank with other players of the same rank. It's just not fun getting completely stomped due to under leveled units. Skill plays no role here.

I can't put into words how frustrating it is. Clearly a pay to win kind of game. I'm over level 40 and I struggle to get a decent fight. I don't know if there's some sort of mechanic you have in the game were you play bots who just know what you have and can counter anything and everything you have but it's annoyingly unfair advantages. It needs to be balanced and the challenges need to be every now and then. Not every bloody game. I hope this gets to someone! Not happy to say the least.

Great game - addictive. Gets annoying when you are matched with people whos units are all three levels above your own, makes it virtually impossible to win no matter your tactics. Like all games nowdays you could spend money to advance quicker but i don't see the need personally. Its fun to play at the lower levels and gives you something to aim for. Edit: lost stars due to the chat system in game. Makes it almost impossible to chat within an alliance... it filters out half the English language

It's all great but From the start I love the game play and PvP battle grid combat strag, time flies by and everything going pretty well, felt the game is ballance one player to another, win some, lose some. The major disappointed is after going 2 seasons the battle becomes redicolous hard to beat other 'high' level players which is level constant 60 players (maxed out) while I'm level 32 which is highly frustrating as it constant losing the battle. It seems to be set as ranks then player levels

As a long time C&C fan, this games let's you re-live that nostalgia in controlled setting with familiar units in a quick game. If you play the game expecting aspects of the original gameplay, this is not the game for you. RIVALS is a CTF game. The graphics are decent, game play is fun, UI is intuitive and the reward system is fair. I love the fact that gameplay is always different depending on your units and your/your opponents strategy. My only complaint is that 'taunts' are locked by default.

Ibr. M. Jan 26, 2022

I'm Very disappointed with the game, in the first few levels you play against some rivals where some are easy and some are challenging, after that you have to loose 10 matches to win one match, others can generate cash in ridiculous speed while you can barely create some units. It's unfair, also it lack the classic C&C on desktop where you may need only some offline skirmish matchs. I don't recommend installing the game

Stu. S. Apr 28, 2022

Fun, not the best if you're FTP. If you are matched against higher level opponents with high level units, it becomes very difficult to compete. Currently in platinum and regularly are matched in "challenge matches" which is like 30-70 win/loss in those. Losing most of the time doesn't make me want to play. When it's a fair mix of opponents the game is a lot of fun.

Mik. S. May 8, 2022

The most frustrating part is going up against those who bought their levels up. It happens more often at gold and up. But when you look at the divisions and the max levels, it's not such a bad thing after all. I finished with diamond last season and I didn't pay. I just took advantage of the daily objectives. It also didn't take a long time. Less than 2 weeks. Don't give up! Just take breaks. It's still a really well-built game! F2P players will get frustrated just before Diamond! Far enough!

Bre. R. Mar 10, 2022

The game itself is a lot of fun, probably the best "RTS" on mobile. If you're hoping for a C&C game like the others, this is different. If you give it a chance, the gameplay is very unique and strategic, while catering to the shorter games that mobile games require. It uses a similar "card" system to something like Clash Royale, so upgrading units to higher levels requires money (or a LOT of time). If you can ignore the level differences and focus on the strategy, the game is still playable/fun.

Game is fun but has some things i would change. Letting players with high level armament annihilate lower level players is disappointing. Nothing takes more fun away then getting obliterated by someone who has high level gear. If you're going to let high level players play against low level players you probably need to make the playing field even. True to the original C & C. The one with the most resources levels up their equipment. Still fun but at times disappointing .

Bál. J. Dec 4, 2018

Honestly, this game seemed to be good at first, but after an hour or so, it quickly became clear, that it's not. Pay to win is so frustrating to see in a "classic" C&C game, whenever I saw that enemies had more than one level higher units, I immidiately gave up, because it is impossible to win. The only way you could win was if you outsmarted and outplayed the enemy, but once again, that is hardly possible due to the poor controls of the units. How are you supposed to select a unit that is overlapped by another unit? The abilities should have a lot longer cooldown, and the entire battle should last longer. There is almost no strategy in this game, you can't just rush out a predator and hunt the enemy harvester, you just lose too many tibs and also the enemy will nuke you. This game is all about the stupid nukes and it takes out the strategy from the game. Not to mention that the progress is very slow.

This game is ok, but just ok. I'll best honest, it's not what I imagined, having played previous PC versions of the game. I have to agree with many others that the game is repetitive and I find it's easy to put doqn after a few battles (here's to hoping for new features/improvements soon!) I don't agree with the view that this is 'pay to win' game. The option is there for those willing to spend their hard earned cash and of course they will level up/get better troops quicker but that doesn't mean you will automatically lose to those players.

Dar. M. Sep 22, 2018

I fell in love with this game series for the PC and I really enjoy the mobile version. It's a fantastic game and very addictive. They need to work out the bugs for example: the game crashes when I'm trying to upgrade my units and I end up losing the in game credits and I get a "error 400" message. Also, the algorithm for the match making is still unfair

Issues with not getting what you are supposed to for passing certain levels. They offer 100 gems but that isn't even a tenth of what it would cost to replace as a one time only offer. Controls are a bit off at times and a few issues with freezing up when in battles. Other than that great game with a few issues. If you dont spend money it will be hard to progress to higher levels. But if you have sound tactics you can still win a few.

Chr. L. Dec 11, 2018

More fun than I expected but the controls and gameplay are downright annoying at times. The fact that most units can't shoot while moving puts you at a huge disadvantage when attacking stationary enemies. By the time your units start firing they've already lost an evenly matched fight. Sometimes you can never recover from this and it costs you the game.

Big. D. Oct 5, 2018

It's command and conquer, I guess. It's the GDI and NOD, I guess. I've always been a fan of C&C up to C&C 4. I feel like this is a step in the right direction or bringing back one of the biggest titles in RTS history, but a very, very tiny step at that. The game definitely needs a lot more buffs to make it worthwhile. The 1v1 maps are pretty much cut and copy. Needs bigger maps, different game modes. 2v2, 3v3, 4v4.

Las. A. Jan 26, 2019

It works, its just very basic, very repetitive, not much content. Its litteraly just one game mode. One of the two opposing teams fight to maintain control of a missle launch pad. Whoever gets hit with 2 or 3 strikes first loses the match. It's a simple and very basic concept but with the command and Conquer name, it leaves much to be desired. How about more maps and game modes? Come on guys, you can do better than this.

Thi. K. Jan 31, 2019

It's quite fun at first. The feeling of progression is almost always satisfactory with these types of games. However, it becomes a pain to progress in the later stages of the game if you don't go the pay to win route. Another point of critique, although it's just my personal opinion, is the matching making system. It's designed to match you up against opponents with exact counters to your squad build. So league progression almost come to a full halt at times which is frustrating.

Mic. T. Nov 11, 2018

Overall I really appreciate that it's a real, real time strategy game. The issues I have are: - if your units are a level lower than your opponents, they have an unfair advantage as they will always win a 1v1 fight. So adapting to this weakness is an uphill battle. - I occasionally get a poor Network connection error. However I can prove it's not the internet on my end that's the reason. - I wish there was a way to plan your team based on your opponents commander. For example, Kane is perfect for destroying vehicles. Which can completely tip the game in his favor very quickly and easily

Dav. E. Jul 5, 2020

Once you get to mid-level skill you can't progress any further and get trapped in a place where you need to spend money to progress. You'll play units WAY higher than yours and a challenge battle loop, and it's impossible to win and you can't lose to play against players at your level. You get beat every game and never get anywhere. The paywall is real, and cost-prohibitive if you want to go higher. Early on in the game it's all bots, watch replays and they use the same build every game.
