Worked great for about 5 minutes. It would have been great if they mentioned that location service has to be on to synch with the lights during the setup process. You can only choose preset colors, having a gradient to choose color would be better. App crashed, uninstalled and downloaded again now the app will not move past their logo on launch no matter how many times in reinstalling. Samsung Note 8.
Won't sync. "Scan for device" to add a device does nothing. I get a "CHANNEL_NOT_READY" error pretty much every time. My bluetooth is on and scanning but doesn't see the device since apparently you can't use the app to put it in pairing mode. I followed the broken English Q&A instructions and nothing made any difference whatsoever. The "Help & Support" is not a "Help & Support," it's a "Terms of Use" page, and following the link to the website takes you to a page with login requirements?! Grrrrr
Pro Tip: Turn on the Location service for your device along with Bluetooth. The Location function has multiple system functions beyond GPS that tie directly into others systems including Bluetooth. App works as intended when both Location and Bluetooth are on. It was frustrating at first because I usually leave Location off but after some internet research about smart devices I realized that was the issue with this App. Happy Lighting.
This software is very poor quality. Running version 1.8.would strongly warn against using this version. I have 3 lights in my hallway. This software has never functioned bug-free... Currently my install shows eight lights, none of the eight entries are synced to any of the three in my hallway. When I try to add the lights to sync them, it only finds two of the three. Makes it Useless. Don't install... Uninstalling...
Horrible garbage. The app starts, asks for location access, then contacts access.... Then does nothing. If you close it and reopen it skips the account creation and jumps straight to a 4 pin password.... Which you can set to anything because you don't have account so it doesn't matter... Because you can't set up anything without an account anyway. Waste of money. Will never buy a product from this company again.
Junk - home depot should be ashamed for selling this. Never worked right, always something going wrong, one light will work, one won't, they change color at different times and the always a different color between the two. And no response from commercial electric, no worthwhile troubleshooting available. Do not waste your time or money with this garbage. If only negative stars where available then i could properly rate these lights. Thanks for never responding CE Lighting!
At first I would get the message "Channel_Not_Ready". I was very frustrated. I read the review of another person and saw that they turned on their location to make it work. I did the same and it worked! Now the issue I have is adding the lights to other phones.
App just needs better instructions, but it works fine to control my multicolor can lights. You need to turn on GPS (not sure why) before it will connect to the bluetooth lights. After that is seems good to go.
This app sucks!! Press scan for lights button and nothing happens. I cannot connect the lights to the app therefore I cannot use the lights the way they were intended. I'm pissed I wasted time installing them. I will be returning them. Do not buy the 5-6 inch LED Color Changing Lights. Garbage!!
Connectivity Issues, 9 out of 10 times this app cant detect lights so its almost moot to use this app. I wish there was a way to login to this app through website and rely on laptop's bluetooth them on this app. Worst user experience! Not sure why Homedepot sells these lights whose main use is through bluetooth app and it doesnt work.
This app and product are junk. Worked for one day and now all I get is a Channel Not Ready error. Uninstalled, Factory reset light and still can not connect. What a waste of time and money. No Support site or Number. Should have known better by reading other reviews.
Purchased the smart plug.. can't find the app sp1 commercial electric smart plug... just this app for lights. Purchased at the Home Depot. Bringing back and notifying the merchant to pull products off the market and send back.
I accidentally ran the sw update and can no longer connect to my lights through the app. My Bluetooth detects the lights, but they are no longer called "CSMESH," they are now named "OTAU_MESH." Can I expect any help here? —Thanks!
It just does not work and there's no indication that it's just not doing anything. Unable to "pair" or sync with lights, and yes, Bluetooth was on. Back to the store.
I downloaded this app to my phone, it has worked flawlessly. The problem I'm having is I haven't been able to sync the lights to 5 other devices I have tried the app on. I didn't put in a light switch when I installed these lights in my living room, my phone is the only way to turn these lights on, the rest of the family has to sit in the dark.
Something wrong with these people. It worked only once, then nothing. The app can not find the light, or maybe the bluetooth in the light is already broken.
If you're considering purchasing any Commercial Electric oroduct, please don't. The app literally doesn't do anything. It won't sense lights. The Q&A is poorly formatted, engrish nonsense. Error messages pop up with no explanation. Help & Support is just a list of terms and conditions. There is no sign of support from the company anywhere online. It's a scam and this company should be sued for fraud.
it works but it has to be cached cleared and reinstalled from time to time. not sure if it's the lights or the app that causes the disconnect.
The app is pretty simplistic it would be nice if you could save a color profile and just hit one button and have the light switch to that profile.
Constantly crashes, lights are stuck. Very very occasionally it will at least load on my partners phone. I can't even get in.
The app works great with these lights when I bought them two months later. Resetting did not work also uninstalling the app and reinstalling did not get it to connect to Bluetooth
I would give less than 1 star if possible. Absolutely terrible app and terrible light product. App worked on my husband's phone but not mine. Then stopped on his. We returned the lights. Do not buy!!!!
Waist of money. Will bering it back. It doesn't connect to 1 of the lights. Its only Bluetooth and does not work with Good Assist.
works as described, wish there was a timer and/or scheduling function. would also like to program sequences such as slow strobing for parties
These lights are trash. If they disconnect from your phone , thats it. Its not going to work.at all. RIDICULOUS. after spending so much money they can't even last connected.
Had to change my cell phone and could not get existing lights to pair with new phone after reloading app. App is not user friendly for trying to pair existing lights.
Won't get past the opening screen. Does not work. Wants access to your location ALL the time.
I wish I had read reviews before installing these. Mine are stuck in Christmas colors and I can't get the app to detect any lights. Ridiculous.
lights work pretty good. app takes a second to load at first after that it's perfect. lights are awesome. put 6 in the kitchen ots awesome.
Connects to my phone via Bluetooth, but can not find the device in the app. Light quit working after a half an hour of use, but music is still playing. Update: Light is back on. It appears that the light turns off when too hot and my shop, where is is an ambient temperature of 80°F is too warm for the light to stay on continuously... hmmm.
