Companion 4 Spotify
Companion For Spotify will find albums that were added by Artists that you follow (and their related artists) since your last visit. It can also find if there were any updates to the playlists that you follow. In both cases, Companion For Spotify will import the updated songs into a playlist of your choosing. This is a great way to auto create a daily playlist of updates for your listening pleasure. The application can also generate randomized playlists for you based on the artists that you follow and the artists related to them.
Unlike other tools that generate playlists for you, Companion For Spotify only generates content from artists and playlists that you follow. Who has time to click on every artist and playlist and see what's new? Now there is no need... Companion will do it for you.

NEW RELEASES This page shows you if any of the artists that you follow on Spotify have added any new songs to the Spotify library since the last time you checked. If so, then you can add those new releases to a playlist of your choosing.

ARTISTS I FOLLOWGenerates a playlist consisting of a random selection of songs from the artists that you follow. This is a great way to hear forgotten songs or deep cuts from artists you love.
RELATED ARTISTSGenerates a playlist consisting of a random selection of songs from artists related to the artists that you follow. This is a great way to discover new artists.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This application is not a replacement for Spotify and it does not let you stream music from the Spotify library. Instead, it generates playlists for you based on your habits and configuration that you can then listen to using your Spotify player.

Useful tool but it should either be free or be better and have more features. I just deleted my new releases Playlist in Spotify because it was too full and wanted to create a new one with all of today's releases and it just didn't create it. Now I've lost all access to today's releases. You should also have an option to disable Various Artist releases imo.
Excellent little app. Great for discovering new releases and updated playlists. You can play the new release song or album you are interested in straight from Spotify, by pressing the link button. Works perfectly, supported well by the developer and definitely worth the cost.
A very good option if you want to discover new music, Spotify's release radar only has 30 new releases thus making it very limited, this app on the other half shows all of the new releases. Highly recommend for people who follow a lot of artists and/or want to discover new music.
Just shows the same new releases that Spotify generates every Friday. All of the "new releases" had last Friday's date on them. Doesn't show daily new releases. Also impossible to log out of the app when logged in with Facebook details, log out button doesn't work. Highly suspicious and doesn't work, do not install.
I just downloaded the free version of this app. The reason I downloaded it was because I wanted to be able to see a list of releases from artists that I follow on Spotify. This app does do that apparently, but only shows releases from the last time you used the feature in the app. If you're looking for an app that shows releases by date, that includes older releases, this is not the app you're looking for. Once I've used this app for a week or so, I will edit this review, as currently there are no new releases for me to look at.
Very simple. May be too simple for some!Great for combining lists and getting a thorough list of new releases. I don't know if other apps have improved on this in the years since it was released, but this is the original and one to beat.
Barely got any users and you're already trying to get them pay. This is not a way to introduce an app to an audience. Furthermore, the UI is lacking and looks extrenely unappealing. Wanted to support you, but after trying this I just can't.
Doesn't work anymore: "unable to authenticate at this time". In the background I can see the Spotify login page is loaded, but on closing the message pop-up the app is closed immediately
Amazing for keeping up with your favorite artists, I usually check once a week and have a bunch of songs I didn't even know were released, hopefully the U. I. Gets an update though!
steals your personal information, my password was changed and random phones were connected to my spotify after using this app
It steals your Spotify information such as passwords and usernames, im really worried because my credit card is linked to my Spotify account

So far this is a really nice app... specifically, the playlist generator. I really wish the app would be enhanced so that playlists could be generated from artists in other playlists instead of just followed artists. This would give the user a much more customized playlist. Spotify's radio stations, and playlist radio stations, are really limited and repetitive in my opinion. They not downloadable either. This app helps overcome this. The ability to have related artists along with selected artists (from a playlist), in a generated playlist would also be a great enhancement.
This app looks like it would be great, it includes features that I have always wanted spotify to have such as the combining playlists. However, I'm yet to use it properly. It is trying to scan my spotify for artists I follow etc, but doesn't appear to do this in the background, everytime I switch apps or lock my screen, it either doesn't go any further than the stage I left it at, or it has to start again. If you could fix this issue and I can use the app properly, I'm sure it would be worthy of 5 stars. Also, developer, there is no information on what the "Licensed" version features include, does it simply remove ads or are there extra features? Please let me know...other than what I have mentioned above, this has the potential to be a great companion for Spotify.
The Home page is a list of updates that I had fun reading for the first time I opened the app but not each and every time. Besides, the app simply doesn't work. The lack of functions this have.. even the meant-to-work features won't do anything - but the ads load, obviously.
Really nice app. Really useful for finding songs that I haven't heard in years or artists that I've never heard of before.
I get an error message everytime I try to create a playlist with the artist it generated.
The combined playlist is a big deal since Spotify took that away from us. Looking for updates on playlists is nice. I was doing it with IF but this app looks at all of them at once instead of writing a recipe for each once.
I love this app, have used it for years. Very useful. ISSUE :: Lately I'm getting a ton of artists showing up in my results that I'm not following. I have "related artists" turned off. It's very frustrating. 😖 FEATURE REQUEST :: Also, still wishing for a feature where I can search for releases between specific dates. Being able to search back a year doesn't work when you follow as many artists as I do, the playlist can't accept that many songs. 😅
