Companion for Alexa (Alexa for Gear/Galaxy Watch)

Update: Downgrade to 1 star. Paying for the app ($6 - which is probably more than usual) that the annoying ads would be removed. --------------- Hi DiF, I purchased this app, why am I still receiving the ads and the notifications? I would like a refund if I am still getting the ads as well as that notification message.

Doesn't even open. Android S21 ultra. POS. Uninstalled and reinstalled, still won't open, says library not installed. Then phone shows notice that app is not responding and will close.

I got the apps installed on both my phone and my watch. Even tho it says disconnected on the phone, it still works. I've asked it many questions on a variety of topics and I've gotten the correct responses. So far my only issue with it is when I change the settings on the phone app from watch only to phone only to both, I get no changes. The audio comes through both the phone and the watch despite the setting. It's still pretty cool though. I hope it continues to work. This is an update.

i wish it worked! i had the older app and companion app and while they were a bit slow it worked great. i was so happy to see a update but alas after removing the old files abd reinstalling both apps it just doesn't work nearly as good as before. It hit or miss if it does work, still bad lag, and now it mishears everything i say. will gladly update this review when it works.

Downloaded on watch and phone on 2/17/19. Asked Alexa to play a song by an 80's rock group on my Galaxy Watch and a Bible audiobook played a sample on my phone. I applaud and appreciate the effort, but without the full backing of Amazon, this app isn't useful. Thank you for your effort, but it just doesn't work like an Amazon device should.

I have one plus 5T. I could only find the companion app on play store. Installed the app. But before I could even enter the user name and password for my Amazon account it says disconnected. And stays there. Can you please help? The star is just a placeholder. Please don't consider it as the final judgement. Edit : Unable to make it to use. The instruction video does not help.

When I click login to Amazon account it never logs in and the button just disappears. Yes I installed it on watch (gear s3) and installed on phone (s10) the app is poorly designed. Sad really such a simple concept that their completely tanked on. Would be nice if it was working and designed properly.

(Will change review once it works) I am cell phone Tech Support. newest Galaxy watch as well as the Galaxy note 20 ultra. Set this up correctly And both watch and phone say Alexa ready however the watch is not responding neither is the phone regardless of whether I set both to respond or one or the other it just does not work whatsoever I believe it's an issue where my microphone possibly does not have access to it but there no option for watches to allow an app permission to the microphone.

Dont think I have ever installed a more useless app. You mentioned a video I cannot find. The only thing that works is the link for an add to install audio books...dont want audio books. Maybe my samsung note 8 is too old. My watch is a 42mm LTE galaxy watch.

The companion app works just fine. It's the watch app that's not spectacular. Or their combination doesn't work. I have one for maps from Galaxy Store that responds instantly. This is SUPER delayed!

App does not work and before you go off on a moan demanding to know why I'll tell you. I installed both the Alexa Gear and this app, it has permission to access my microphone on the watch yet picks up nothing. Bixby may be awful but at least it works, I did notice app in a can but not paying out money for something that doesn't even work.

Sorry, doesn't work... Samsung Galaxy Watch with latest firmware and Samsung S9 plus running Android 10. Installs fine on both and appears to connect - both come up with Alexa Ready - but no response whatsoever on watch or phone to question asked. I am logged into an Amazon app on the phone.

The app's performance was great. What I didn't like is that the app doesn't work independent of your phone, and sometimes Alexa incorrectly interprets your commands. Otherwise, I would have given 4 stars.

very slow on Samsung Gear S3 frontier. But it does work. Alexa voice doesn't seem to work through the watch and the Mic option isn't great. would be better if I could use the wake word.

Does not work when pairing the Samsung Active 2 watch & Samsung Galaxy S7 phone... dissapointing. Downloaded both apps and it won't even let me log into my Alexa account to connect. The Alexa login button just disappears when you click it. I was never given the opportunity to enter my Alexa login info. The apps say connected but when I ask Alexa to do anything she normally does for me she says something like "it looks like you are trying to connect to another account"

I don't know what happened but I had already rated it and explained my disappointment of not being able to log in into my Amazon account through this app. -because I'm logged in with my cell phone# instead of my email account and this app requires that I login with my email. ( I shouldn't need to change anything if I'm already logged in❗(simple as that❗

As of 14/01/2020 this is still not working as it is supposed to. It doesn't do anything yet says "Alexa Ready" after signing in to my amazon account. Wouldn't waste any time installing this. Edit: The developer is assuming I didn't do what he suggested, which he is wrong to do so seeing as I followed his instructions and the app STILL doesn't work. The only thing I didn't do was report it within the app which, considering I am not wasting my time with this app anymore is pointless.

I watched the video, downloaded the apps. and followed the directions SUCCESS! This app seems to work as described & I'm a happy camper! It may be a little thing but it makes my life a little easier. Thank you so much for creating this! 😁

Download this app and download it to your watch (I'm using galaxy active watch), make sure you are signing into the amazon app on your phone too, it will automatically link accounts. This successfully allows me to turn my lights on and off! This is all I wanted and it does the job. Thank you!

Yeah, didnt work. App says if there are any issues write an email describing what the problem is. I don't use apps to do the job for the developer. It was already a waste of time to download the app to find it didn't work, why would I waste my time more. Best wishes.

Downloaded and installed; tried to log on to amazon, wouldn't connect....screen just says Alexa Disconnected with no option to try and log on again. Was hoping for a better experience.

Doesn't work The developer responded to my first critical review to say the value of the app to save me the effort of removing the phone fr my pocket or purse. Memo to developer.. accept for people my age, everyone carries their and stares at it constantly. He says I'm not being forced to use it. That's one of two good things abt the app. Second, no refund to be denied. App doesn't work without phone.

Cannot get this all to work. Installed on Phone (s20+) and Galaxy watch. The play store says my devices are compatible but when I talk to the watch after pressing the wake button, I get no response. Why is this? Please help.

Can not get to work. Application on my watch shows a red X over the microphone symbol. I've verified permissions of microphone with this & it has permission to all. Help me get this working

This is absolutely garbage. Can't even log in to Amazon. App crashes when I try to. Never even had a chance to set this up and use it because I can't get past the login. Trash

Does not work when I am connected from my phone to watch and I push the microphone button, it does not respond to my voice commands. I believe i am doing everything good.

App is needed for the watch, but the app will not open. Flashes for half a second, then closes with an error.

Followed carefully the instruction and the watch and the smartphone's app seem to be connected, but still you can't get a reply from Alexa. I gave up after few hours of unsuccessful tries.
