Compass

Beware. I had been having issues with my screen not working right (not able to use fingers to zoom in on map), as well as my keyboard geeking out. Couldn't figure it out, but as soon as I uninstalled this app everything started working like normal. Not sure how this app managed this, but I certainly don't think it was a coincidence.

I have been having trouble with accuracy lately. It seems to be off by almost 90°, where North is where West used to be. The app suggests calibration, and shows it to be highly accurate in all aspects, except it's 90°off. It lacks a means of contacting the developer, so I suppose I'll have to contact my cell phone provider. I'm looking forward to this getting resolved, as the app has usually been balls on accurate. (it's an industry term! 😉)

This app , is really good, cause it tells you every angle there is, a complete 360 angles if you can see it that way And you can use it everywhere possible , for instance, use it , in the car or, hiking and on your bycicle , if you have one, even for short walk s , you can't go wrong with ,this app,if you understand it ? Which I do it s a great app ! It's very easy to read , iv known how to read a compass since I was a kid , I learned how to read a old fashioned compass

Seems to need calibrating often, but that's very easy & quick, and it tells you if calibration has been done. And for me, it always calibrates. Screen compass is dramatic looking (very nice), easy to read with lots of detail. You can read it degree by degree. I have *not* compared it with my traditional type non- digital backpacking compass, but this one acts very similarly. Like it a lot.

The App is obviously excellent, well to me it is, but I have just this minute downloaded it, I haven't a clue if it's even a free App or not, it went through that fast, but its got everything, I'm not really bothered if I'm charged a few quid, I would prefer that than the annoying Ads running all my work continuously, but no matter how good it is I'll bin it rather than be plagued with the Ads.

So far, so good. Upon first use, reading was about 180° off. After following the directions for calibration, it's as accurate as any of my other four compasses. I haven't even gotten into the rest of the settings yet, but I'm sure that once I get it completely set up, its usefulness will expand to at least a small degree.

A great app with more info than just direction of North - very useful. The ads are not particularly distracting or obstructive but I would pay a modest fee to remove them. The layout is clear and easy to read at a glance, and the functionality is responsive (on a Sony Xperia) Recommended. Addition: An option for decimal degree coordinates would be great.

Very Good App. Works well with Android. Its very useful to find direction at any time. Accuracy is good. Easy to use. Easy to install. I checked many apps but it was fruitful and solved my purpose. Recommended for everybody who needs or know accurate directions at different occasions. Thanks to all developers /engineers to provide public such a good app.

If the compass is not working it is a problem with your device or the battery. Sometimes a compass not working is a sign of a bad battery causing high magnetic fields. This is not this app's fault. This app is good and does not continuously updated like many annoying apps and the developer has added features over time. Please try to be smart when reviewing someone's work who is providing you a free application. Thank you.

After looking for a great compass app, this has been the best so far. Excellent design and easy to recalibrate if the phone gets out of whack, ensuring its accuracy. However, there is no way to remove the ads...I would pay money and give 5 stars for this ability. Come on, man.

This is one amazing design! I was looking for a mobile compass and stumbled upon this one. I read several reviews and decided to give a try. I am thrilled to say the least. I was able to determine due west inside a building without a clear line of sight. The accuracy is real time and very responsive. You will not be disappointed!!!

I liked the app. It show as almost accurate results. Only disadvantage is it contains ads on the screen. I understand it's for their revenue generation, obviously , they are providing free service to use their apps.

I use this compass often for amateur botanical study and to confirm southwest exposure in homes I'm looking at. Does all I require from a compass. It would not work well for map and compass and wildland firefighting, mainly due to awkwardness of phone.

Accuracy is right on target. Easy to configure using the instructions. Also has a bubble level in the middle of the compass. Recommended.

visually attractive looking but gave random results, sometimes it boots up and gives a reasonably accurate reading but at other times the reading is totally erroneous and unreliable. however, since it was a freebie and there's obviously a lot of effort gone into its production it does seem churlish to criticise.

Works well but calibration is a pain, and doesnt always go as planned. But aside from the app delivers what it promises when properly calibrated. Is it because i am in the southern hemisphere that calibration is difficult? many navigation apps are Northern-centric with features that dont work well below the Equator, or near the IDL.

just installed Compass App last night on my new first-time android cell phone, having had a flip phone for many years prior. So I am in the learning stages of adapting to all sorts of new apps and this particular one is the best of what I have added so far. I am s 75 year old that has just made the leap to newer technology and Compass is incredible, gives me direction, altitude and much more.

It's just ok. It's not perfectly accurate. Depends how strong the magnetic field is at the moment. Need to calibrate phone to get the strongest magnetic field at the moment you use it. Honestly, I don't need it at all. I was just curious how good it works in case my wife might want a compass app for her phone.

First time I have used this app. So far, completely impressed. Got it in my phone to help me locate and scan channels for my new TV antenna. Sure seems like it will do the job I need. Convenient, as we drive across the country twice a year, and often wished we had a compass. Now we do!

Absolutely garbage. The compass doesn't work and when i turn to go north, it freezes for a sec and then the N turns to the complete opposite direction of where i am, not because i'm going the wrong way, but decides to reset. Again, garbage and in general phone compasses don't work.

Excellent app. I'm a computer illiterate but a paramedic and SAR team member. This is probably the best app on my phone. I cant thank you enough for the ABSENCE of adds. it's pretty annoying to have a pop ups while your trying to navigate and search. I make it up to you guys by showing your app to every civilian who approaches me about navigation. The internal GPS is brilliant. J.F.TUTOLO, RN, EMT-P, VRT.

I needed an accurate compass to use for media alignment and after trying several others finally settled on this one. in particular i like the accuracy confirmation for calibration. For best results i had to remove my phone case as the magnetic clasp was creating havoc. A must have app. Thanks.

Cool app. I downloaded it because I got a Vagus Nerve Simulator and wanted to check out how it would affect my phone and how I could manipulate the compass, but I didn't expect it to actually detect a magnetic field. I'm wearing a magnet on my wrist so of course it's pretty high but wow still amazing. Five stars, very good.

Simple, perfect compass. No bells and whistles, but you don't need any if you need a compass. Just some small tweaks, like magnetic field strength, true and magnetic heading and such. If you ever used a real compass you will feel at home here straight away.

This app is pretty accurate. Tahnk you so much to the programmer. It shows the information in detail about magnetic field and also if the sensors are working fine or not or any calibration is required. Thank you so much for the wonderful app.

I go on random drives on the weekends. Just head north, west, and like that. Taking back roads, Depending on cloud cover, I sometimes dont know which way I am going. I bust out the compass instead of my liquid one, which is affected by the cars electrical system, to get oriented. Good clear display, once I know which way I am headed, drive on !
