I got around "Unable to get permission from the terminal app..." by opening Terminal Emulator before invoking Complete Linux Installer and issuing a "mount -rw -t vfat /dev/block/vold/179:1 /storage/sdcard0" command because of how android treats apps discretely. Then the fun began. The linux images were quite dated. Ubuntu was a "Saucy" release. I set out on the upgrade path from Saucy > Trusty > Xenial > Bionic. Focal is up next. But, hey, I got Linux running an old KitKat tablet.
Overall great quality app and outstanding performance and tools. Easy to use and easy to understand. I really liked the app and the fact that it works well it makes it even better. Thanks for such a wonderful app.
horrific installation it's said auto installer in this app for years now so why haven't you just made one the process to set it up is so complex and so lacking in detail and explination that without a solid understanding of shell commands and previous understandings of the os it is litterally impossible to run it it's ridiculous. Make a video at least link to the guide on how to install rather than leaving us bewildered
It's a manual which doesnt work tarned as an useful app. Not good written in my opinion and totally useless to me as I get a "terminal access permission not given" error where the fun should start.
F*'ckinh app when i try to download the image it take me to the web site and when i try it says give your email we'll send you link. Finally when you get to the link it gives you the link of that app which is 2.0 version
This app is wow! My tablet has a resolution of 1024x600. I just installed this app and ran Linux in my tablet. It worked like a charm. I'd just recommend this app to anyone if they asked me. And the another thing is, it ran in android 4.0.3!
Every feature is "coming in the next release" but the next release is never released... Been waiting over a year for 3.1....
This app is despicable! It doesn't help me at all! This app is completely shameful!
Wow! It works! Even in other emulators! And it can load games! I can even run minecraft in it! Good app thx devs! ^_^
I tried this. Same troubles as Kristopher down there. Glad I tried before paying. So 2 stars for that ability.

Anyone getting unable to get perms from terminal app: in app settings, give complete linux installer the permission to execute arbitrary commands Pls and ty
The source forge doesnt give the download link
Only download links to this app. No use.
Doesn't work.. outdated
Do these kind of linux installations support docker? What are the usecases of these linux installations using chroot/proot method?
Installed this app, downloaded the image and unzipped (Ubuntu), installed BusyBox, Terminal Emulator and the VNC Client, configured the app to pick up the unzipped img file, but when I attempt to launch Linux i get the error "Unable to get permission from the terminal app, please reinstall Complete Linux Installer". Terminal emulator runs fine, can su, but I have no idea what to do next to troubleshoot. No usable docs online (the FAQ is 3 questions with no detail!). #FAIL
