An excellent app that incorporates listening, reading and dìctation for rhythms from basic to advanced. The developers were very responsive when I ran into a problem and helped me fix it quickly. The price is very reasonable for what you get. I had been using another rhythm training app but this one is a lot more sophisticated.

I've played for 40 years without ever learning how to read music and got this app just to check reading off my bucket list. This isn't the only app I got but this one features WRITING out what it plays as one of the per section challenges. As much as I hate that part of it, I'm learning faster than I would have imagined because of it.

I was terrible...have always been terrible ... with rhythm. When I first got playing around with this app, I was a terfible failure... now I can get pretty good scores. ..although I don't use it much and am still in the basic stages. I have been trying other ways to improve but with this one you can actally measure one's success

Amazing app, totally addicted, the odd times are devilishly fun!! Well done Devs!!! EDIT I just wanted to add something to my original post. Still love this app!! I think it would be EVEN BETTER if it added the ability to add accents to rhythms on the free practise mode

I absolutely loved these 3 apps and was willing to purchase all of them so I could continue using them but it kept trying to get me to attach different payment methods and was telling me how it was gonna share my payment and profile info around so I couldn't, in good conscience, proceed. I tried to screenshot the messages I received from (I believe) google pay but it wouldn't allow me to screenshot for "security reasons".

To any musicians out there that needs to learn rhythm, I'd highly recommend this app! This app teaches you from the basics to the most advanced topics in rhythm. No advertisements and simple interface is the reason why this is a great app!

Great app, really helpful. But please foresee a button to access the tutorials (so you don't need to reset them via the settings each time you forgot something).

As someone who has struggled reading music for many years I've found this app incredibly useful. The ONLY criticism I have is the point system can be a bit brutal (mainly for the reading) as one small mistake on a line can cost you points. The reason this is an issue is no matter how many times I try to calibrate it, I'm always bound to miss a few at some point. Would like it if the points were based on how many notes you hit correctly and penalise players if they try to spam the button?

This app is fantastic. Smooth interface, calibration for accuracy, levels that you can practice and repractice that don't feel inanely repetitive... this app is amazing. On top of that, to unlock the full version of the app it's incredibly inexpensive. Plus they give you plenty of content to begin with to see if it's something you would like to purchase. 10/10. I've downloaded their other two apps and I'm looking forward to them.

Exceptional. I don't see how it could be improved. Music teachers tend to focus on reading rhythm and playing it but until it's been heard over and over it is not second nature as it should be. With this App training it becomes intuitive and the well designed drills and variety of them make it possible. I have vastly improved since I have used it for a short time. I am grateful I found this.

This, along with the 2 other partner apps from the developer (complete ear trainer and complete music reading trainer) are so close to being absolutely perfect. Even some professionals may have something to learn from them. The only downfall is that there is no way, as far as I can tell, to adjust the tempo of the exercises which is around 60 bpm. So my rating would be more like 4 and a half stars. At $3.49 each, you can't go wrong. This is a solid curriculum that any musician can benefit from.

Really happy with the app. It's a great learning tool and it starts at an easy pace which helps to keep motivated. I think it might benefit from having a little bit more of a gradual increase in difficulty later on perhaps. The devs do say that you should expect to get stuck on some areas as you try to improve, which is fine, but I feel like I might improve a bit faster if I had a few easier exercises to try along the way at points.

I'm halfway through ch6 and can really feel the benefit in my playing and reading. I am rhythmically challenged and this is really helping! Two things: 1/, it doesn't seem to adjust scoring for "holding" a note and seems to just look at when you hit the tone. So no difference between note-rest and longer note? 2/ I'd like to be able to practice a sequence from the app on my instrument. I'll try that with midi on the piano, but for, for example, for wind? Maybe a pdf? Thanks for a great app.

I have been in and out of music for about 14 years now and need to practice rhythm every now an then and this app out of all helped me immensely. The exercises are designed more like games that get progressively harder, in a way the app challenges your mental capacity in coordination to your physical ability. The theory too is explained in such a way that a child could do them. But I would suggest to change the name of the app so that it stands out more. The name of the app is too generic.

It's ridiculously difficult to tell the difference between a rest after 4 beats of sustained piano and 5 beats of sustained you know? Maybe you can add a sound that doesn't have decay? Edit: first of all, thanks a lot for your opinion about my headset. I know it's not the best but upgrading isn't an option. Secondly, could you at least sound like you're considering implementing the feature to give your users the option? Even a simple pure sine wave would be enough. Thanks, Steven :))

This is a great tool to improve sight reading for time. I'm just working with the "arcade" section. One thing I value is the feedback on note precision; after completing a section (i.e. making three mistakes) you can tap the screen and get your average, best and worst accuracy notes to the millisecond. Really great for accountability (a count-ability?) and checking your progress. A valuable app for amateurs to professionals.

A great tool for learning to internalize the beat. User first taps the written beat; then, taps the dictated beat. (As my piano teacher physically demonstrated by marching around the room, it's easier to incorporate the beat and to keep the rhythm steady and even if you imagine shifting your body weight from Left to Right as you imaginatively March forward.) I love this app. I'm new to it. I'm haven't found how to access the tutorials yet. Like that there is statistical feedback. Thx.

Awesome app! Really helped me learn to read! Some features that could help make it even better: 1. A way to change the tempo. 2. A mode that is just for practicing reading without needing to tap the input on your phone (for playing on a practice pad or something) 3. A freeplay mode where you can just write any rhythm and then here it back.

I got frustrated with knowing what to do to tap out the rhythms. Once the notes are tapped onto the staff wrong, I wasn't sure how to erase them without using the back button, which would be a pain for every mistake. Swiping to start again gives u no time to hit the first note and no empty measure count in. Looked like a good ap for a smart person, but if I can't figure out the quarter and half note drills. They get into complex rhythems and time sigs if u can figure out the interface.

Jor. D. Dec 20, 2020

I realy like the app, but as a music teacher and music engraver I have some issues with the notatio of some of the rythms. For example, in a 4/4 sometimes the app write quarte, dotted quarter, eighth, and quarter, when the most accuarate writing is quarter, quarter tied to an eighth, eighth, and quarter, it also happens with the beaming. This happens several times, and sometimes complicates the reading of some rythms. It would be great if you can improve this.

Lia. B. Dec 15, 2020

Stéphane has clearly put in a huge amount of time to ensure this is an outstanding app. At first I though it was way too easy.....then it got way too tough i.e. perfect whatever your level! A must for all music exams grades 1-8 both practical and theory. Helpful tutorials and loads of optional settings. Well, well worth the money and a generous free element to try before you buy. Thank you!

You've done an amazing job with all of your applications, but the rhythm trainer is my favorite! One small feature suggestion would be the ability to connect to an external device like a keyboard to practice. And possibly slightly longer tutorials talking about how to count more complex rhythms. Nevertheless, I love the detail and the UI, and it's a total 5 stars from me.

Dan. J. Oct 7, 2020

so far, I KNOW that my reading is improving, thanks to this app. the difficulty levels ramp up gradually, and when you repeat levels, the notes change. so instead out just learning a specific line, you get better! three could be a bit more variety in exercise type, but regardless, I think this is a 5 stars for me.

Kam. M. Jun 28, 2020

I'm new to making music so my first step was to download this app. And, first level was easy, but it getting harder and harder--and no lesson! I did not being taught anything, just given something like 'test', so I can't progress because I don't know anything. This app is good for those who want to refresh what they have studied, but NOT for those who wants to study from the beginning.

Sha. R. Jul 11, 2021

This app is fantastic. My rhythm has improved so much since I've started just a few weeks ago, it's well designed, it makes training it really fun. It would be cool if there was a daily notification exercise that takes what you know so far. Even if it's an extra paid feature, totally worth it.

Adr. S. Aug 22, 2020

I really enjoy this app! But it would make it awesome if it had the following additional features: 1) a visible metronome (for example the Tap button could blink in time); 2) a note-level precision chart at the end of the reading exercise in the details section; 3) a simpler pre-reading exercise with the common patterns; 4) a setting of the metronome so that you could set it to eighth or sixteenth notes, not just quarter ones. Thanks!
