Update: aced both the 901/902 with the help of this app. Good app to use when you need something quick for testing in your spare time. -------------- Good amount of content and a quick way to refresh some comptia trivia. One thing that I noticed is that if I use the 100 question custom exam, about halfway through or later, all of the answers are the last option. Something with the random answer shuffler is broken... Fix it and I'll uprate. Thanks
started using this 3 weeks ago along with a few other study sources and just passed my 220-1001 exam with a 739. would like to have scored higher but this app was a great help. well worth the 24$ one time fee; however I personally would be willing to pay even more if it included performance based question simulations. occasionally it would generate questions that did not seem to relate to the topics I had selected, but oh well. still helps a bunch. taking core 2 at end of month. ish me luck!
I bought the basic premium version of this app. the questions cover a variety of topics, including those not covered by the A+ exam. The questions can be confusing and may contain multiple right answers. Example: question asks for a command on how to * in the command line, but doesnt specify os. Interface is nice, the quoting from books is nice, but I feel like the majority of questions were written by someone who didnt have functional understanding of the material.
Worth it just to have some study on the go. Whenever I had a spare few mins I'd just whip the phone at and answer ten questions. The explanations for the answers are great for study. I obviously wouldn't recommend this as your only resource, and I wouldn't even recommend it as a practice exam resource, but as a quick study resource. I'll use it again for my next certification exam.
I haven't taken my exams yet. I've used a combination of this app and a few other resources. I found this app helpful in that, even though the material is very limited in terms of subcategories, the explanation of questions is thorough. I rate 3 stars not because of the limitations of questions, but because 3 times now I've returned to the app to find my progress reset completely or partially and have no access to more than 500 questions even though I'm logged into my paid premium account. I do not log out of my account and I do not reset or mess with the settings. Also, my phone is password protected. I hope this issue does not occur with other users. It is terribly frustrating.
Decent, if the bugs got worked out. First of all, I did pass the A+ exam. Regarding the app, my main complaint was how it regularly defaulted to all question answers being "D". The only way to reset the function was to clear the cache and restart, which erased all the progress. As you might imagine, this was problematic when trying to drill down on certain topics. Honestly I'm surprised that Professor Messer endorses this product. I don't think it is worth the cost until the bugs are solved.
Love this app! The free version is great, but the unlocked version for a one-time fee of $24 is Super Helpful in preparing for the exam, and it's NOT a resource that would jeopardize your certification (like brain-dump practice exams).
I really love the app. I took my exam and it helped me to learn some things that were usefull. Don't expect to have the same questions in the exam, but this really helps you especially if you read the explanations. I'm going soon to take 902. My only complain with this app is that there could be more questions added but is still worth it.
Used with other study aids this app helped me pass the 901 today. Use charts, diagrams and crib cards to remember lots of information then use this app to practice answering questions. The explanation in the app of each answer helps with understanding concepts and revision. Its very good but not a magic wand to pass your exam.
Does what it's supposed to do. This app can be used alone to study for the test or be a supplemental tool as part of a bigger study plan, but it's not giving you the answers for the test to memorize. It's supposed to help you learn the concepts of the test. People with the negative reviews claiming that the app didn't help pass are misunderstanding what the app is used for. Passed 901 on first try btw thanks to this app.
Multiple times when I've created custom 100 question exams the answer is the 4th option for every question in that exam. Also had a question that in the explanation gave the wrong port for IMAP4. It stated that the port number was 389, which is LDAP's port number, instead of 143. Would be nice if the developer at least responded.
If you are looking to use this app to study for the 1001/1002, look elsewhere. The questions are still for 901/902 and are in completely the wrong categories. When trying to get a refund, they tell you to go to Google and Google tell you to go to them! This is a terrible product and an outright lie. You have been warned.
This app worked great when I first downloaded. Now ever since the last update I can no longer access the question of the day or save any progress from the practice exams. I am also using the premium version.
horrible company! The app constantly kicks me out of my account or tells me I need to pay for the premium again. I've paid for it. last week I was kicked out and the token is invalid for my fb login. they told me to make a new login and they will transfer my premium acct. they do so. now today it says it isnt premium all of a sudden. i contact them again. they tell me i must be on the wrong app? wth. horrible customer service. They pretty much stole my money. Hate this company!
Is it bugged? All I get is an ad with a download link for the Pocket Prep IT & Cyber Security app. It would appear this used to be an app for A+ that worked...
pro: randomized questions on retakes, and very fast interface transitions con: 25 bucks is a lot of cash, has a cosmetic GUI issue, minimal setting options
Good UI and easy to use but limited usefulness as a free option. does provide means beyond paying to gain more practice options though.
Freezing everytime at the upgrade to unlimited screen. Where it would show the price and like two other slides.
the answer for this, and the other pocket prep study guides, is D 90% of the time. need to update the randomization of the answers. otherwise, the info is good. if this can be fixed I'll rate all of then 5 star
Bought this for some last day cramming while I was at work. Went to take the test afterwards and am now A+ certified. A useful app that helped quite a bit.
Kinda dislike the amount you have to pay to unlock more practice, at this point I've spent spent almost $300 on a single exam. For a student working minimum wage that's not an insignificant amount.
Worked fine but now I can't log in and unable to change password. Seems its now VERY "glitchy", and that's the premium version
Installed only for it to tell me that this app has been discontinued. Not sure why even leave it available in the app store if it's not even functional anymore.
This will NOT help you on your 902. The questions that this app give are nowhere near what you'll face on the actual exam. ALSO BEWARE THE REFUND GARUNTEE!! Unless you've answered all 800 questions at 80% efficiency you will not qualify for a refund. Save yourself the money and find some guides and practice exams online.
some helpful questions for practice and the explanations are nice, but a lot of the content is only for "premium" members.
This app is a good tool to use, when prepping for your exams. So far it has shown me, that I need more prep time for my exam.
I'm finding the experience fun yet I'm learning at the same time and it's definitely keeping me interested.
it's got a pretty good UI 👌. Good for quick study sessions at break.
Almost Perfect. My only criticism is that there should be a CONFIRM button when you are taking the practice tests. You should be able to tap your answer, then tap confirm, and then it can tell you if it's correct and offer the explanation. That way people who fat finger the answer above don't have to see that they got it wrong when they actually knew the answer LOL
I'm just using the free version of the app so I can't complain too much. The answers to the quick 10 questions, which besides the daily question is the only other option with the free version, are all the fourth option so it is not very challenging. I use the app as a refresher or to just pass time while I'm trying to learn more about computers.
