This app is a great way to practice for the A+ test on the go. I can use it waiting in line somewhere, downtime at work, on break, at home or just about anytime I'm not busy. You can pick up where you left off, mark questions to review at a later time..I do this when I need to brush up on terms. There's a test mode also. Ads only show up after you've finished a section or after a test..so far that's all I've seen.
The 1 star is due to the absurd amount of ads this app implements. I get that it's free so they are going to plug in ads but this is absurd. Sections are broken into different sections and each level is 5 questions. After every two questions prepare for a full screen ad, then after you master the 5th question in a level get ready for another ad. Then you go back to select another level and guess what? Ad time first. So to answer 5 questions that's 4 full screen ads with timers total. Unreal.
I've been using the official CompTIA A+ study materials and wanted to use some other resources to help gauge whether or not I'm ready for the exams. This app contains a large assortment of questions, but a lot of them aren't exactly worthwhile. Some are outright silly, incorrect, out-of-date or not even fully written out. I wouldn't trust this to test your knowledge.
Unable to Purchase/Remove Ads on this app, which is frustrating because it's great. Would love to be able to access more questions and tests beyond the free intro.
The app will not replace the course but it will test our knowledge and show you how prepared or unprepared you are to pass the A+ exam. Love it! One thing, on my phone, the app doesn't use apostrophees; they are replaced by question marks. I assume it's a coding issue but it is still easy to follow!
Good app, really trying to get into the IT field and can't afford to go to school for it. But i must say this is helping me out. But the down side of this app is the ads keeps popping up every 2-5 questions and its absolutely annpying. I get it thats a way to make money on apps but like come on, its annoying
I haven't taken the test yet. but so far I really like how even though the questions are short they still provide pretty good detail and they are also challenging. also only a quick ad after you finish a round so it's truly no big deal.
I downloaded and paid to remove the ads (because what's $4 compared to the cost of the A+ exam) and it's a great app but DO NOT USE IT. It only covers the 901 and 902 which were retired July 2019. Until this app updates to the 1001 and 1002 it is not worth downloading. I wasted a week studying with it only to find this out.
I already have a certificate in Network IT from 2009 and wasnt interested in furthering my knowledge and obtaining my A+ and Network+ after completing the program that was like a whole new headache plus this is a field where its constantly expanding but this app is amazing! Im 10 years older now with a more developed focus and this is exactly what i needed to rekindle this old knowlege thank you!
It's Awesome, I'm trying to get ready for the IT exams im taking next year and the CompTIA A+ exam is one of them. I'm reviewing things I learned this year and getting a peak at whats to come next year (Mostly Networking). I want to thank every app that helps people to study for exams because without them people won't be able to pass half of the exams they take.
I used this to practice for the CompTIA A+ certification exam. I took the exam today (June 2021), and the questions were completely different from these. I still passed, but only barely. This app is useless. And even worse, the ads are intrusive and excessive. There's a full-page ad every few questions. It's awful.
Seem to be having trouble taking practice tests on my Note 9 ever since the last firmeare update it crashes instantly I've tried reinstalling the app to no avail. When it worked it was nice to practice on the go or when I was too lethargic to get to my PC.
While I was downloading this app I was looking at the reviews and notice everyone was complaining about ads I though their is no way it could be that bad, The first 10 minutes of me using the app I saw not a single ad but after those 10 minutes it turned into the biggest Cash cow app I have ever seen I spent more time looking at ads then I did studying, easiest uninstall for me ever. Also note that they have not updated to 1001 or 1002 yet
I love that it automatically goes into reviewing the already failed answers before moving on. Also, the ads are not intrusive (so far) and don't seem to disrupt the learning process.
Definitely helps with basic understanding so far to aide in my self study for a+. Awesome UI and well organized. My quarrel is so far the questions seem much to easy. Not written in the tricky nature I know tests are written like for certification of this magnitude.
I haven't taken the exam yet so i cant judge based on results but I like the interface and format. Also I'm sure I used another app from these series with the same layout for some other test (ASVAB I think), and the familiarity makes it more welcoming.
super easy to use, really breaks down the questions and at the end of the practice, stage you can review your answers to ensure you are picking up what is getting thrown down. Excellent app.
The training questions were fantastic and helped with repeating questions which I'd answered incorrectly. During the exam portion though, answers selected would occasionally appear red at random, even if they were the correct answer.
I like the way the App drills the knowledge through repetition. Although there are ads displaying every once in a while. It is a great deal considering using it for free.
There are a lot of bugs. Often, the questions do not even show up and I have experienced crashes on the Galaxy S10+. Questions are far too easy and some of the grammar and wording is poor.
So far have taken a few tests but can tell it is exactly the type of questions that will help for studying. When you answer a question correctly you get a brief summary of why it is correct. Same for incorrect answers and the question pops up again in your test so you have a chance to answer correctly and let it sink in. Nicely done!
First time using it I like the layout cant advance till you answer all right and reviews the right ones till you answer all right more then once, great way to review all questions right and wrong love it. I have a final on 12/18/2018 I'm relying on this app to help me freshen up fir the test over the weekend. Thanks for the great app , for being free money scarce out of work for over a year.
The constant bombardment of ads takes away from the app. Can't answer 2 questions without and ad being slammed in your face. The questions are also a bit simplistic.
this is great its alot more like the actual a+ exam than what i was studying on comptia. i would have to argue that this is the best app or website you can use to study for the A+ exam. It does have ads but they never interupt you while you are taking a test.
I can't purchase the product! The ads are very annoying so I'm trying to spend the 4 bucks for the premium but there's no option to purchase..nothing happens when you tap on buy. Habe contacted developer to no avail..sigh what a shame
So far so good. I rarely rate something when it comes up on an app. However this time I did. The ads dont bother me. Its one ad per session. This is a good break from using Testout to study.
Some answers seem subjective. Ads all over the place. If you get an answer wrong, you must review the questions again but the stinking ads keep popping up resetting the process all over again. I really don't see how this got 4.8 stars. Deleted the same day.
It's a great way to do quick brain teaser exercise and practice for the CompTIA exam quick 5 minute quizzes and offers help with any incorrect answers, and well as repetitive workouts to drill in the information.
This is a great app for testing your A+ knowledge. I know the test has changed, but a lot of the questions will remain the same, and this app just helps you to stay sharp on your studies. Also, I love the explanations giving with the answers. There's some questions I've gotten right, but may not have known the details of why. Great app, Thanks Devs!
The app is really awesome and does teach you a lot about your weak points and where you should focus your studies. However. Once you have answered a question you can expect to see it numerous times over. I believe in the saying: Repitition is the mother of learning. Even if this is true. It doesn't help that the practice test is composed of the exact same questions. I found myself just remembering the correct answer and automatically tapping that. A bigger variety will do the app some good.
