Disappointing. After paying hefty money for the full version, ads persisted. They kept advertising other apps made by the same developer, or "sister apps" .. still they were ads. When you look up a word after verbalizing in words, you still have to tap on the actual word, which is not very convenient. i It not only doesn't offer anything special for the paid version, but it also lacks the basics. Doesn't use the word you looked up in a sentence or anything. Also narrator working very poorly.
The app itself works well enough, although the UI is a mess and it's not particularly intuitive. Further, the 30 day trial of the full version is fine, and when you start you're given the information that you can pay to access the offline version and remove ads. This is misleading. One would expect that, after 30 days, you could continue to use the app in an online only, ad-laden version. This is not the case. The app will close itself if you do not pay, and will not allow you to use it.
I have been using the Merriam Webster app for quite some time now. Downloaded the Oxford app to help with the British pronunciation. I hope you take my comments productively and make this app better. Your app lacks a certain clarity visually. Also, the no ads option is too pricey makes you seem very hungry for money. It doesn't give a very British feel to be honest. You could do better.
I have only had this app a few days. So far I have found too many words missing from it. For example: bariatric, Notum both found to be missing today. Both are listed in Chambers Concise and Collins Dictionary. I don't think Oxford Concise deserves its premier reputation.
Totally useless if you are English. I tested with the word 'customise'. No results found. But it could find 'customize'. This is an American word. NOT English. I expected better from Oxford. Uninstalling. M I
I already have the PC version, yet I have to pay again for the mobile version, that is rip-off. Suggestions are nothing like the standalone version. Swamped, flooded with ads overwhelming. 😩 Not cool
I love it.Extremely helpful especially as a second language. I love it.It is extremely helpful especially as English is my second language.
It very helpful to learn new words and to hear correct pronouncation of difficult words.
I have paid a total of £25(once in full, once half price and once with your voucher) for the non ads dictionary and all I got is the one with ads Even once I paid the money it is not upgraded but my PayPal account shows I paid Can you tell me what to do or give me my money back please
the definitions of the entry words are easy and simple with the support of audio and etymology. a very good dictionary app.
No need to buy new edition book where you can't buy easily. Need one click to update on your mobile.
ATT. TO THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF THIS ORGANISATION: I, would like to say that: This app. Really works very well for Me!!! I really appreciated it. KIND REGARDS.
As a daily dictionary, there are none better. Additionally, the Oxford Dictionary is pretty much THE most reputable.
All the pop ups and ads are very annoying and many more than other apps. Might uninstall and get Collins Dictionary
I taught this app would help me with providing good vocabs and different meanings but it didnt useless and wont run properly unless its online so only one star is more than enough.
Wonderful for learning, ease of use and mainly description of words are really good...but I ask developers or who is responsible for pricing : please reduce price..thanks.
Just as the name implies, it is one of the best mobile dictionary for foreign learners of english language, but mated by excessive adverts not related to one's needs.
As the name of the app suggests,it give accurate definitions and examples. I recommend it for every one.
So cluttered & overrun with intrusive & irrelevant ads as to make this app a burden. Opt rather for the much better My Free Dictionary.
The app is really good but some few words cannot be found
It isn't a fully functioning 30 day trial and it is replete with spam advertising banners.
This oxford university student English dictionary book smart is also helping me to read more!!!
Very very useful app. Helps to improve and icrease vocabulary Oxford is great ✅
Oxford why can't I use you without data? It is only the premium that has offline but very costly.
Such a damm app .it required internet connection to find words and also too many adds .. please don't it.
A great study tool one cannot do without . a great companion really to realistic living .
Very good for a Oxford kids dictionary it's very nice and I like it very much we can study from class first to last
Excellent book of meaningful words to word inthis world. first book of any. person who starts reading any language.
It's good, but some words missing. The definitions are clear and it's a British dictionary, but with the more commonly used Americanisms. I like the built in audio pronunciations. Within the app, the developers will only let you give it 5 stars. If you won't, you can't rate it. This is a rather crude attempt to skew the ratings. Nevertheless, I'm happy overall.
