At least put "Realm" in the name of the app I stead of just "Connect". You can find the app when you are looking for it. No one calls it "Connect". What's wrong with "Realm Connect".
Love Realm, except, I can only login over the internet but not on the app, I think I may have had the same problem with the apple iphone version.
Reset password button does not work. Never has. Button for feedback also does not work. Have unloaded and reloaded app 3 times and not able to access with a password I have been using for 3 years.
Allowed me to log in, but it refuses to let me log out now. It says there is a bug, and to get the update, but the bug fix update was November 29th, and it says there are no further updates available.
My app keeps closing out everytime to I try to click a message in my inbox or download an attachment. Keeps saying there's a big. Very frustrating.
It's a decent app. It greatly allows our community to stay connected. The one thing that needs to be fixed is push notifications. I get email notifications instantly whenever somebody makes a new post, but I prefer to get pinged instantly on my phone and not get my email inbox cluttered. I've had to turn email notifications back on, because push notifications do not work properly.
Drafts are an important part of communications. If you don't complete a message while on the screen, your entire message is deleted. If you have to switch from app to app to get the info needed for your message - everything you were working on is lost forever and you have to start over. The app is great as a viewer only, but if you are going to be leading a group - stick with the web browser on a computer to keep your people informed.
Android users cannot see the chats. Notifications come through, but the chat tab hasn't updated since November 16. I have to go to a computer. my friends with iPhones don't have a problem, but all my friends with Androids have this same issue. The news tab does update. Photo uploads don't work well. I can't find a photo on my phone to easily attach to a post.
The app typically just shows a spinner and doesn't allow me to use it. I have tried while connected through our church wifi, through a good cellular connection, and on another wifi network that was very high bandwidth and very reliable. All resulted in the same issue even after getting help from someone trained on the app. I did get it to work once by restarting the app several times and repeatedly entering and exiting pages. My experience with the app so far has been very frustrating :-(
My cell updated to 8.0.0 end of January. March came around I began to realize I was missing emails that were being mailed via Realm. Multiple re-installs didn't help although it got the notifications going again on my cell but no email notifications or email messages. Long story short, went all through my Yahoo account, opened a separate gmail account to check it.. that would come through. My long standing personal Yahoo email account, no. Spent a long time on the phone with Verizon, my provider. Nothing they could do. It's all on the app's side of things. And no, I'm not even getting spam because the app isn't allowing any emails to my Yahoo account as it once had. Sent off an email to support for this app. Nothing. Called in.. wonderful ! It seems upon the upgrades the capability to send to my email was lost. Their servers blocked it after so many bounces no doubt. It was instantly rectified.. and I'm back in business as before! Yay! Will encourage you to find out if your Yahoo email address has been blocked by their servers. They need to know. Will give the app a 2 rating. The features are awesome. The app needs to be upgraded so it works across all the devices. !
Is improving every day. Must set up notifications for each group you are part of and make sure push notifications are turned on to get the most up to date communication on your phone. There is a learning curve but it is making our communications better as more people join at our church. Was really buggy at first and had to uninstall and reinstall but no issues in several months.
We have been using Realm for 1 year. I am one of the leaders that chose and implemented realm in our church. The App has been one of the primary issues we have had and it as made implementation extremely difficult due to its inconsistency on the android platform. The app fails to load, disconnects, won't show chats, and glitches. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a million times and I'm tired of it. Realm you are not cheap. Fix your app before adding more features.
I love the idea of the app, but between the bugs, lagging, crashing, and generally user-unhelpful interface I've been heavily tempted to give up on it many times. For one thing, why is there NO WAY to remove a family member? And the people in a group showing up at all can't be counted on. And what about when names get mixed up with pictures? Not knowing who's who is maddening. It's true that some of the biggest issues have been fixed, but I still still stand by my 3/5 stars. Moto G6 Android 9
This thing keeps crashing, it doesn't show any information whatsoever. As the church administrator it's completely annoying when staff and the few members that try to use it can't, and complain to me about it. You can't even contact support from the app! It kind of worked for a while, group communication was never reliable, but now you can't even open the news feed! Thank God we haven't launched this to the community yet! (And we've had Realm for over a year now...)
I have no problems checking in & replying to others on the app. The only problem so far is I can't add a pic to my profile. I deleted the app and installed it back and still can't do it. Thank you! :D
When I try to open the app, it opens to a white screen and doesn't always change. I have to manually refresh the app in order to see updates. Push notifications aren't always working either, and they are all turned on. And if I try to select a post that has an attachment, the whole app crashes.
No search for posts (not groups or people) in the news feed is unacceptable in 2020. No tablet support either.
App used to work great but now everytime I click on a post to view all the contents it crashes. Main newsfeed and mobile check-in work great.
After six months of use, Chat feature still randomly connects. Chat is unreliable. Also, push notifications arrive, but the message lags. I have regularly reported these issues to customer service. The app reflects good ideas, but poor execution. It was rolled out prematurely in my judgment. The consequence was Church leadership losing credibility because congregants became frustrated with app. App/Chat still unpredictable and unreliable. Updates made it worse. ACS: commit or kill it.
Can't respond to assignments even when clicking on the respond link. No calendar of assignments. This app does nothing but take up space. No value at all
Every time I log in and try to access Chat via the mobile app it crashes. My Pastor's suggested we use it to stay in touch with each other during the week, but I'm not sure Realm is really devoted to fixing this glitch. Have no problem if using my desktop. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app more than once to same result. Big disappointment!
Constant bugs and crashing... Our church recently adopted this and it's been horrible. First there were issues just creating an account. When I asked for support through the website, I was told they don't support individuals but only the church directly and I would have to get support from the church only. Ridiculous! Now I get messages stating there are connection issues. Terrible app and/or service.
This app doesnt work half the time. Have to load, reload, reload.... and it doesnt let me post, or get notified of posts in the groups or chats. Also tells me im disabled from posting in one group, no matter which group i try to post in. Im not banned or blocked by my pastor. The app needs serious work
Piece of junk, loads slow or not at all. I'm supposed to trust my giving to an app that may or may not function, I don't think so!
I really want to love this app. The things it's supposed to do are all there. Hopefully the kinks can get worked out so I feel comfortable asking congregants to use it. Right now I'm not. It won't even send notifications of messages with the settings for notifications on. I tapped the feedback button and it says it can't find an email... 😔🤦♀️ I just want it to work.
I appreciate the attempt to create a social platform for churches but this product needs to be re-engineered by people who know how to use reactive components. This same critique holds for the desktop (browser) interface as well. There are numerous clunky UI elements that are frustrating and disappointing to deal with. I'm giving one star now because this android app has been giving me "Network Error: unable to retrieve news feed at this time" for several months now, rendering the app useless.
I originally wrote a rather harsh review at first because I was unable to get the app working at all. The issue was solved by attempting to log in to my account on a desktop and finding that there were steps to activating my account that were not completed. The app now seems to be working as intended, and I am grateful to the prompt response from the developer, even though I ended up not needing their assistance. I recommend creating and verifying your account on a desktop to avoid my issue.
I can not expand an entry to continue reading before the app shuts down. I'm not sure if it is my phone or the app.
very buggy. I often just opt to use the mobile website. notifications are particularly buggy. it's my understanding that the ios version works a bit better but still has issues.
