The app itself isn't so bad. But intermittent issues between the Smartconnect, hearing aids, Bluetooth and "line-in" have been intolerable. Am I the only user who actually uses these features? I'm on my third or fourth Smartconnect and each, either initially or eventually, develops connection issues. I've been carefully rotating other components (smartphone, 3.5mm cable, etc), and the only common elements are the Smartconnect and hearing aids.
I love the concept of this but find it annoying to lose connection and then need to reboot during call as caller can not get a clear voice. Also very slow in connecting. Two or more times to connect. This is my 2nd one. Wish there was another brand I could try. I gave it a 3 as the tv transmitter part works fine.
This device does it's job VERY well. It required a little getting used to; however, once I developed the habit, it does what is desired and my aids function as they're designed to. My ability to hear most voices in a group and take part in the discussion has become very gratifying.
Great for OTR Truck driving. Use to place and receive hands free calls. Streams audio from phone directly to hearing aids and allows you to answer the call and speak without holding the phone. Down side would like a little better battery life, only last about 4 to 6 hours even if on standby. Would be nice to have a extended battery that lasted 10 to 14 hours in standby mode and allow 6 to 8 hours streaming audio. Great if you use hearing aids, better than headsets.
It works great when it has a fully charged battery...once in awhile it will disconnect and reconnect for no reasons especially when I be on a call! This app hasn't been updated in over 5 years...
I have moderate to severe hearing loss.Works great on my Android Galaxy Note 5 streams all sound directly to my Costco Kirkland hearing aids. The reason I give it four stars is because when the hearing aids connect to my Loop neck smart connect transmitter during a phone call, the callers cannot hear me and ask me if I am on a speakerphone or a Bluetooth device because my voice cuts off. I fix this annoying issue by tapping the Bluetooth icon on my phone to turn it off and then back on.
Poor app; minimal control, too many screens, not really blue tooth, doesn't remember settings, not all settings available on each program, dependent on supplier for access to features, poor (moronic) equalizer, not separately adjustable (my ears have unique issues - they're not the same). Doesn't connect well with my S6.
Inconsistent. Helpful when functioning correctly. Frustrating when not. New today, listening to fm radio it is only working in program # 1 of my hearing aids. Until today it functioned in all 4 of my hearing aids programs. And the cell phone app has stopped showing remaining charge of batteries of hearing aids, dispite showing smart connect 'so remaining charge.
While this app generally functions well enough, it is badly in need of an update in order to work properly with the three newer versions of Android that have appeared since its release. It frequently stops working in the middle of conversations, and doesn't interact well with other applications that it should. It does not speak well of the company that it does not support its users that have no other choice.
Regularly loses connection to the hearing aids. I use the tinnitus option, trying to keep the buzz noise down, and every time it loses the connection it resets to the universal setting. I have to shut down the app and resync and reselect my settings.
Reliably manages the connecting of the audio interfaces required to stream TV sound directly into my vintage 2017 hearing aids. My Setup: TV audio-out > wireless transmitter > wireless receiver/hearing aid interface > hearing aids.
Half the time when I activate it it does not connect anything none of the controls work. When it does work it's great, but it is iffy and I've used it on three phones now
All works but keeps disconnecting from the phone so do miss calls. Think app needs update. I've uninstalled and reinstalled makes no difference. I'm using GalaxyS10 but was getting same problem on galaxy s8 thought was because phone was old, seems I was wrong.
I absolutely love this app when it is working. It is incredibly temperamental and difficult to work with. Sometimes it won't connect. Often it fades out or just goes off. Now, it is giving me a different language. I cannot figure out how to change it back.
This app is flawed. Pixel phones (at least) experience frequent unannounced changes of the ringer volume to zero, rendering it unfunctional. Reported complete details to developer who so far has been non-responsive.
Cannot properly adjust Bluetooth volume when connected to phone. Music is way too loud. Phone media volume, smart connect, and app do nothing. Other functions seem to work.
Antenna loop gets brittle and separates from connector after a year or so. Been through 3 loops in 5 years. Can't find replacement. Support didn't answer my inquiry. Otherwise love the Smart Connect
Application disconnects from the hearing aids on its own. Sometimes at the beginning of a call sometimes in the middle of a call. Currently quite this satisfied with this application.
This apps turns my auto answering off half the time. I have a Samsung 7 set for auto answer. When it turns it off on me the only way I can talk is to hit the speaker phone or disconnect the blue tooth. Very inconsistent.
This equipment allows one to start a conversation and then cuts out my voice. I then have to switch to speaker. It is good for applications not requiring the user to speak.
Very finicky. Often fails to switch back to auto mode from streaming which results in low hearing aid volume. Must open the app and switch modes manually.
Where is the directional feature? When making a phone call the icon showed its connected, but it's not. Frequently dropping service.
Intermits, sometimes does not switch hearing aids back to outside listening mode after call w bluetooth is terminated. Also have to usually try 3 times to have bluetooth connect to H. A. For calls and audio. 2nd smart connect pendant in 12 months
When working is great. Am having more drop outs now though & takes time to reconnect. Rebooting phone helps, but this is frustrating when in middle of a call.
Like a lot of people on here, I find this app incredibly frustrating. Some days it will connect just fine yet on others it will steadfastly refuse to pair and connect to my aids.
It doesn't hold my volume. Got new phone and it was hard to fix 😪. When I did get it working it was better When I hook up Now it's works great but it comes and goes.
Great way to upgrade none Bluetooth hearing aids. Once connected stable, a little temperamental sometimes to set up
Unpredictable. There is no rhyme or rhythm to its failures. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't. It's frustrating!
No matter what I do it will not connect. It will almost pair then cancel itself. Very frustrating. Makes me want to speak in tounges!
Frustrating! When it's working, it's great, but I have to go through the pairing process nearly every day, frequently more than that. Sometimes it drops out in the middle of using it and I have to re-pair. Nearly always when I start using it, e.g. to make a call. I'm using with a Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. Looks like it hasn't been updated in some time... it's time for an update!
